What’s the point of a news app that won’t let you read a story without subscribing
Very strange I’m sure you will lose a lot of readers it’s a bit like paying for parking when you don’t have to.

Tried resetting my password - the link doesn’t work Tried telling them, the link doesn’t work. Tried emailing them - NO REPLY.

terrible terrible website. Simply getting spammed my ads so much it's impossible to read what you're trying to. Pathetic

Shame I can't leave a less star. Absolutely shocking website. Who would pay to read that shit!!!. Who ever has took over should be ashamed. Who would pay to read the news. Stupid people

It is an utterly depressing publication.

Hard to believe this once great newspaper has sunk so low. Once edited by the marvellous Brian Redhead and employed columnists of the stature of Keith Waterhouse. Now it's left wing Mirror Group advertising rag with an extremely dubious comments section. Avoid.

Full of adverts making it impossible to read any news. Now have to pay a subscription. Won’t bother reading anymore

I subscribed to MEN MUFC emails for many years. Most articles are written in a sensationalist way with frequent poor selling and grammar. How many articles are going to have a title of such and such person showing their true colours? The titles of the articles often do not represent the actual content. Most of the info is recycled info already in the public domain or free on other sites and not exclusive content as claimed. Articles over the years have been hard to read as the articles get loaded first and as you are reading it on a mobile the ads are being launched that it requires a lot of scrolling to find what you had just read. Now they are asking for a digital subscription for virtually every article in their email feed despite the poor quality of the articles and loading issues. They should have improved the content quality and ensure that only articles which are exclusive fall under this subscription. I really would not recommend this digital subscription service to anyone and realistically cannot see anyone wanting to pay for this service but by all means feel free to waste your money on this if you feel this is for you. For the reasons above, I have unsubscribed to the emails and have decided to move onto other info sources which are free…

One star is too much . What has happened to the MEN . Needs NEW ownership . So much sensitive clickbait ads and nobody will pay for the trash premium content . I had to uninstall it . Someone please design a proper News site for Manchester please

WOW, what can you say about the Manchester Evening News that's positive? Positively nothing I guess. The paper is very low level reading, expensive, and very little to offer. The web site is just pages of pop ups and ads. It is always asking for me to accept cookies. Last time I checked it was sending my data I assume it's harvesting to 1,400 partners. You can pay to avoid the pop ups, but seriously. I read like two thing for my football team. The local Messenger paper seemed better value than this now toilet paper rag.

They want a subscription to read any article on their site. Greedy scumbags. Full of ads. Sort your greedy little heads out

being a former newsagent of 25 years,its sad to witness the last days of the newspaper,i think of the days when i would move in excess of 300 copies per day.that was ,when it did what it states on the cover delivered for evening sales.and hada shop filled on a saturday night with punters craving the football pink. i also remember after a 14 hour day attending a union meeting of news agents,at the piccadilly plaza.we were confronted by the then editor dressed in a white suit not a good look,on an elderly gent,i did think.he informed us that the changes he proposed ,would be implemented,and he didnt care how it effected newsagents.well guess what i wont be spending another brass farthing,on this rag,co i dont care.

Pay for subscription- its ridicules, people will start walk away , nobody will pay for this.

Pathetic, now have to pay to read about whats happening locally.
May as well stick to mainstream news channels or wait for Granada Reports.

Why are the Manchester Evening News charging for articles which have been presented by publicly funded journalism??
Numerous articles are from Local democracy reporters who are funded through the BBC license fee, which we pay!
The Evening news do not pay for these articles, simply trying to raise funds to cover lost advertising revenue.
Perhaps if they upped their game, especially in the woeful football coverage (numerous Mufc articles lifted from online or common knowledge) sales may rise again.

Been reading for 20 years, time to say goodbye to MEN now as most articles require subscription. I'd never pay for news, especially when often low quality grammar/spelling.

Sky News website it is for news I suppose even though that is not very local but will do.

Have made them aware of a compnay thats stealing people money and selling dangerous cars but there not interested in news that can make a difference
