Absolutely first class from start to…

Absolutely first class from start to finish, no hard selling, very transparent on costs and extras. Mark who fitted my hall stairs and landing was a very professional polite person. And he did an excellent job. Paid monthly which was helpful in saving for flooring. We had issues with a door and that was resolved with no extra costs. Would not use anyone else.

Great experience

We ordered a carpet which had to be ordered in specially. It arrived on time and was fitted by a very friendly chap called Mark who did a great job. We are really pleased with the result and it has transformed the house.

Had such a nice experience in the Marsh…

Had such a nice experience in the Marsh Barton over the weekend. The guys in the store were not pushy whatsoever just really helpful and attentive. We came in with our baby they even made it special for him and made him smile! Thanks so much! Would 100% recommend!

Carpet was a good price for bedroom and…

Carpet was a good price for bedroom and could'nt get over how thick and spongy it was. Tony Smith did an excellent job of fitting the carpet and left the place spotless, very impressed - would highly recommend.

Service is absolutely appalling!

Service is absolutely appalling!

Claim to be a family business but all they care about is themselves!

Avoid at all costs.

Business is completely out of the depth and should have listened to previous customers experiences.

1. They called to change fitting date after fitting date was confirmed after getting their diary mixed up.
2. Once carpet was measured, they then told us 1 of 2 carpets we chose was no longer a line they provided, therefore, had to go back into the shop to choose another.
3. Once paid, carpet fitter arrived with only one carpet, leaving out a whole bedroom. I called the reception where they said it has yet to arrive but admitted they should have left an email to make me aware (of which they didn’t). This meant we had to get the other carpet fitted on a later date meaning another day off work. Once I challenged this to the reception over the phone, they were blind to see that their service was poor and refused ANY compensation, saying they ‘can’t see fault in what they provided’, baring in mind the carpet that was missed was £41.99 p2m (£430 total).

Thank you for your feedback. We take all complaints seriously as opportunities to learn. As a family-run business of 65 years with many positive reviews and recommendations, situations like this are extremely rare.

Having reviewed your paperwork and spoken with the team, a second provisional fitting date was arranged due to the slim timeframe between your carpet choice and the fitting date, as there was a possibility of a delay from the manufacturer. When the carpet arrived sooner, we offered to move the fitting forward.

The team did attempt to call you—although we agree an email should also have been sent, especially as they were unaware you were at sea. Regarding the discontinued line, unfortunately this can happen occasionally due to the scale of ranges we offer, though we always work to avoid it.

The only service slip here was the missed email to notify you that the second room’s carpet had been delayed. While we understand this was frustrating, we do not offer compensation when the work is completed as agreed.

We appreciate your comments and will continue to improve our communication processes. If you would like to discuss anything further, we’re always happy to help.

Stairs and Landings…

As soon as the carpet was ready to be fitted Adam and Connor arrived early and worked fast and efficiently. All the waste was removed and the stairs and landings were left clean and tidy.

Very disappointed

After having good service from Market Carpets over many years I am very disappointed and frustrated by the unprofessional way I am being treated at the moment. Having visited the showroom and selected the bathroom flooring I wanted in October, I was told that the bathroom must be measured immediately in order for fitting to be done by Christmas. Measurements were therefore taken several days after my first visit. Despite being told that I would be sent an email estimate none arrived. I contacted them concerned by this early December and paid for the full price of the flooring on 9th December on the understanding that fitting would be done 14th December. The fitting date was cancelled and I am still now in January waiting for this and unable to use my new bathroom. There has been no communication from Market Carpets other than a brusque response to my phone enquiry and concerns and an invoice sent in early December which I paid promptly. No apologies, no coherent explanation. I do not consider it appropriate to expect customers to pay in full for the purchase and fitting of flooring a month before the service is done. In my case, as I have still not been given a fitting date it is likely to be longer than a month. Is this the Market Carpet policy now?

Excellent professional and cheerful…

Excellent professional and cheerful service from Market Carpets, Marsh Barton Exeter. Have to admit, I made an error with the floor measurements which I mentioned to the store on the morning that the carpet was due to be fitted. Market Carpets pulled out the stops to locate and deliver a carpet of the correct size, which was ready for fitting at the originally agreed time. Problem solved, all on the same day so we now have our lovely new carpet. We'll done to all concerned.
