Friendly, helpful and good at their job.

The staff at the Wythall branch were absolutely brilliant selling my house. They treated me like a human being, dealt well with inefficient solicitors and problematic buyers, and despite various problems and delays (none of which were their fault) they got the sale over the line for a price I am very happy with. They worked tirelessly and kept me updated every step of the way. I can't recommend this branch enough.

HORRIBLE

HORRIBLE. Found a property wanted to view to rent. originally spoke to a lovely lady who was going to try to get me a viewing a few days later. We spoke a few times that day as they were trying to get in touch with the tenant. Phoned next day for updated. different Lady on the phone immediately sighed loudly before I had even said a WORD. Then pretended to know nothing at all, didn’t look up details all she did was asked the room sarcastically (I heard) if anyone had taken a call yesterday and basically implied I had lied. I would have taken that place off the market if I could have seen it in a few days. Now will never use them again!

Met the agent at the property today

Met the agent at the property today. One of my best experiences ever. I believe the name was Ashley a real honest gentleman. So helpful and very helpful was a real pleasure and I believe I was lucky to meet a nice helpful person. Made my experience much better than I expected and it really helped me in my decision thank you.

Unprofessional and rude during a viewing

I recently attended a viewing for a property I was interested in renting. Unfortunately, my experience with the agent left me quite disappointed.

Firstly, I was not informed that this would be a block viewing with another person attending, which was unexpected. When I arrived, the agent asked me to wait outside while another person viewed the property. I asked if I could view it at the same time, and they agreed — however, the interaction made me feel quite uncomfortable.

Throughout the viewing, the agent was very engaged with the other viewer, asking personal and friendly questions and showing genuine interest. In contrast, I was barely acknowledged. I couldn’t help but feel that I was being treated differently, which was disheartening and unprofessional.

Everyone deserves to be treated with equal respect and courtesy when viewing a property. I hope the agency takes this feedback seriously and ensures all clients are given the same level of attention and professionalism in the future.

Viewing good. Office dealings not

Initial viewing of a property with Larrisa was great. Larrisa was friendly, personable and polite.
However, all changed when I had to deal with Pat, manager in head office. She dealt with taking offers. She was rude, curt and basically not a very nice personality. I will not deal with Danes again, and that is only because of this person. The star is for Larrisa

I don’t usually leave negative reviews

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. Dealing with Pat Gilbert, (the manager of the firm) she was incredibly unpleasant — she was aggressive, rude, and completely lacking in people skills. From the start, she made the entire process stressful and uncomfortable. Rather than offering guidance or support, she was hostile, unapproachable, and frankly seemed like she had no interest in helping at all. It’s baffling how someone so unprofessional and unfit for customer-facing work is in a managerial position at an estate agency.

That said, Debbie and Larissa were a completely different experience — absolute stars. Both women were professional, warm, and incredibly reassuring throughout the entire process. They carried themselves with a calm confidence and genuine kindness that made a world of difference. When you’re making a big decision like buying a house, that’s exactly the energy you need and these two women delivered it flawlessly. They made me feel respected, heard, and supported every step of the way.

If anyone ever finds themselves dealing with this company, I highly recommend asking to work with Debbie or Larissa only. They are the saving grace of this firm and clearly take pride in their work, unlike Pat, who unfortunately gave the entire experience a sour edge.
As an owner of more than 1 property it is very important to know who you choose to sell your property as this can affect how quickly your house is sold. After speaking with 2 of the most pleasant women throughout the day then communicating with Pat I know I will not be using this specific firm to represent me nor any of my properties that I plan to sell in the near future acknowledging that communications may be had with this person and I may lose out on sales due to this persons “bad mood”.
This first is the wythall branch avoid at all costs

Really bad experience with Melvyn Danes

I had a disappointing experience with Melvyn Danes due to a lack of transparent communication. We submitted a verbal offer over the phone immediately after a property viewing, expecting it would be conveyed to the sellers. The next day, we were even scheduled for a follow-up viewing the following day, only to find out that the property had already been sold without our offer being communicated. We were told that a much higher offer was accepted but at the same time saying that our offer was not conveyed to the sellers. This oversight was extremely disappointing and left us feeling that our interest in the property, being treated with bias and deliberate negligence, was not taken seriously.
