Most expensive trainers I have ever bought. Walked regularly through fields and dry mud trails from Spring to Autumn 2025 (UK). They have been very comfortable and supportive. Was thinking about buyin... See more

ZERO STARS FOR MERRELL AND WOLVERINE WORLD WIDE, INC.
July 3, 2024 I want to give Merrell zero stars. I recently purchased two pairs of shoes from Merrell, each costing more than $130 each. The first pair was satisfactory, however, the second pair was defective. Upon contacting the company, I was informed by Jourdan, the Merrell Consumer Relations Representative, that I qualified for a refund. Even though I followed the instructions, I then received an email from Melanie, the Merrell Consumer Relations Representative, that I would not be refunded, but instead was offered a minimal discount on another pair of shoes with several restrictions. They have a lot of nerve and they only communicate using first names. The second pair of shoes I purchased had insoles that slipped and slid while I was driving, posing a safety hazard. Despite only wearing them twice, the shoes proved to be unusable. Merrell's warranty claims to guarantee their products are free of defects in materials and workmanship, yet they are refusing to honor their policy even after I provided evidence of the defect through photos.
Furthermore, Merrell implied that I did not purchase the shoes directly from their company, despite ordering from their website and having proof of purchase. I am now left with expensive shoes that are unwearable due to the defect. The warranty specifically excludes damage caused by misuse, negligence, or normal wear and tear, none of which apply to my situation.
It is disappointing to experience such poor customer service from a company that claims to provide exceptional footwear. I have lost faith in Merrell and their parent company, Wolverine World Wide, Inc., and will not be making any future purchases from them. I am left with expensive shoes that I cannot use, and Merrell has failed to uphold their end of the agreement with their customers. Buyer beware of Merrell and Wolverine.
Simply Fantastic Customer Service
Merrells seem to be on here twice, one rated at 1.5 and the other at 4.7, so I’m putting my review on both.
I’ve had amazing service from Merrells, in particular Emma, so if you are reading this thank you very much.
My wife bought me some boots in Feb 23 for Xmas and recently we noticed a defect in our opinion, but thought with them being over a year old we would get nowhere.
However, after e mailing them I have received simply outstanding service and have just been informed I can spend up to 150 Pounds on a new pair with free delivery. My other boots were only 80 on an offer, so this is very impressive customer service.
I just had to send photos of the soles and labels etc to prove they had but been used much and the process was simple and outstanding.
I would therefore recommend Merrells to snore and say ignore any negative reviews.
Thank you again Merrells
Never, Ever Buy Products from Merrell – Utter Disappointment
Never, ever buy products from Merrell. When I lost my Keen shoes during camping in New Zealand and needed a quick and reliable replacement, I thought Merrell would be the right choice. Oh boy, how wrong I was. I purchased a pair of Merrell Moab Speed GTX, and the experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.
After only two weeks of use, one of the shoes started to squeak. Then, within a month, the stitching at the heel began to tear apart. I have never in my life encountered such poor quality in a pair of shoes, especially from a brand I trusted to deliver reliable products.
When I contacted Merrell customer support, they told me to reach out to the retailer. After following their instructions, I received this response:
"Merrell in NZ has deemed that 'the concern where the stitching has begun to come away at the heel counter is not something we would cover under warranty as this is more a wear and tear concern that occurs over time; it is usually caused by excess friction which isn’t a fault in the construction or materials in the shoe.'"
Their explanation is nothing short of a joke. Claiming that such issues are "normal wear and tear" after just a month of wearing these shoes is outrageous. This is not an isolated case of bad luck; it's a clear indication of subpar materials and construction. Considering the price I paid, I would have been better off renting shoes, as this equates to about $10 per day for the brief period I was able to use them. Additionally, due to the damage, they are no longer waterproof, making the money spent on waterproof shoes for 30 days a complete waste.
Adding insult to injury, Merrell's dismissive stance on this matter has only amplified my frustration. The poor quality of their product matches only the poor quality of their customer service.
I want to warn potential customers about the shoddy quality of Merrell products. To provide undeniable proof, I can include my receipt and photos of the damaged shoes.
This experience has been nothing but disappointing. I will never purchase or recommend Merrell products again. Save your money and avoid the hassle – look elsewhere for reliable hiking gear.
Non existent customer service
Non existent customer service. Goods collected by their courier on 24 May. It is now 21 June and no sign of a refund and customer derives not contactable using any method. Really really poor
I ordered shoes and when they were…
I ordered shoes and when they were delivered the package was stolen from my front porch and when I called Merrell's customer support they said there was nothing they could do for me and to contact FedEx, which I did and they referred me back to Merrell. So I called their customer support back and the customer service rep advised me to fill out a home owner's insurance claim where the deductible would be far more that the cost of the shoes. I filed a complaint with the BBB and will not by any Merrell products going forward. My wife had an amazon package stolen at the same time and she called their customer service and they re-processed her order at zero charge and are shipping out her a new package ASAP. This should have been the same result with Merrell, but wasn't. I recommend not purchasing anything from them going forward. Their are better companies with better products of the same nature that have better customer service than this.,
SCAM they offer many products online
they offer many products online, they have robots answers on inquiries I order an item on May 23 as of this posting I have not rec any tracking past Jun 2nd in China. the response was we have not heard back from our courier in weeks please be patient. I think that would be a problem. I guess you get what you pay for . do not buy anything from them SCAM
I bought the Nova 3 Gotex in February…
I bought the Nova 3 Gotex in February 2024. After3 months the mesh outer shell is tearing in multiple places from the soul and toe guard. Filing a warranty claim with the company has been a nightmare. I tried to submit their online form twice, without success. I bought many pairs of Merrell shoes in the past, without any problems I will avoid this brand in the future.
Absolute rubbish
I purchased a pair of Merrell walking boots and after 2.5 years, and not a lot of wear, I had two splits in the upper part of one boot. The splits let in water so the boots are no longer much use. As I had had them over two years John Lewis weren’t interested in replacing them (where I purchased them from), and I wasn’t able to make contact with Merrell. These are VERY poor quality boots and a waste of money. Don’t buy them.
Poor Quality
I bought a pair of Merrell Goretex walking shoes 1 year ago for £140. The soles have started separating from the uppers after some light use. Very poor quality given the price.
Absolutely shocking company
Absolutely shocking company, bought pair of walking shoes, worse than useless on wet hard ground, wrote in and complained totally ignored, avoid at all costs.
Bought 2 pair of socks for 60 NZD.
Bought 2 pair of socks for 60 NZD.
One pair was already defective, so i changed it.
the second one made holes after literally 4 times i wore it.
Lost order , no response from merrlell
Order has been left on the door step, not in a save place but on a door step on a busy road! I can not get a response from Merrell and UPS just say connect Merrell …. I now have massive RED flags about this company £125 lost !
Merrell no longer stand behind their products
I’ve bought many Merrell shoes over the years and I’ve loved them. I’m not sure what happened but now I’m on my second pair with the sole falling apart, and Merrell is not interested in doing anything about it. Years ago, they stood behind their products, they no longer do this. I would not suggest buying Merrell as they are expensive and if they’re going to fall apart, well?
Poor quality Merrell boots
I have bought Merrell boots for many years and always enjoyed their comfort and durability. My latest MOAB walking boots have disintegrated after 3 years of light usage. Shocking quality.
VERY POOR QUALITY
I paid over £90 for Merrell trainers that have fallen apart after only a year of very light and little use. The soles are ok and that's where it stops. They are also definitely not waterproof. Rips and tears in all areas of the top layers. READ THE REPORTS AND DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON MERRELL SHOES.
Merrell failed policies
I have two pair of Merrell Moab 2 hiking boots one pair is 8 yrs old and has held up to extensive hiking 10K & 14K mountains and daily ware the soles are worn flat gone. The second pair were purchased 13 months ago the upper part of the sole where it meets the side wall of the boot is separating from the sole. When I contacted Merrell they said "We do not provide coverage for defects beyond 12 months" But they would give me a 30% discount on any purchase NOT great but at the least something. So when you make a order on the Merrell website they DEMAND a phone number I do not have a cell phone or a land line they said ask a friend or neighbor for a phone number.
I live 10 miles from the closest neighbor
So I gave them the White House Phone Number NOW for the real crazy part the new pair of Moab 3 arrived today guess what Merrell has changed the mold they use to fashion the shoes at the factory
the width is now 3/16 of a inch narrower OK send them back and REPLACE them with the same size but get the WIDE width in place of standard width NOPE and double NOPE when you return a item you can only do a RETURN no option to REPLACE different size ONLY saving grace NO CHARGE to FedEx them back or so I thought the credit is minus the shipping expense
Bought a pair of Moab speed 2
Update: customer service have been amazing. New replacement shoes delivered. Just about to test them out. Hopefully my feet will stay dry.
Bought a pair of Moab speed 2. Not a cheap option. I wanted a decent pair of waterproof shoes for walking my dogs. Wore these and when I took them off one foot was soaking wet. I have emailed customer service and they are now looking to replace these shoes. I will update when I know more
Moab Speed Low A/C Waterproof
I bought a pair of shoes named 'Moab Speed Low A/C Waterproof' bottom of the shoes is just coming off, and neck part is just worn off badly. Total waste of money. Order number is W1082865343
Merrell mens shoes
Having bought 3 pairs of Merrell men’s shoes they are clearly a comfortable fit. However the wrap around toe section of the sole of one of the second pair was not glued to the leather properly. It was a minor flaw that gradually got bigger. When I raised this with customer service I got the standard - ‘we’re sorry you’re unhappy etc so I suggested I take them to a shoemaker and they pay. When told this wasn’t possible I proposed sending photos and perhaps getting a discount on my 4th pair when the time comes. I sent the photos but got no response or acknowledgment which I feel is pretty poor customer service.
Merrell *used* to be one of the best…
Merrell used to be one of the best footwear manufacturers. They made durable footwear that was never inexpensive but their products lasted and if they didn't -- they would make it right.
That's no longer true. They fall apart almost immediately. And their customer service is terrible. I submitted photos and it was summarily denied. I called them for more information and the lady literally laughed it off.
They offered me 30% off my next pair but *only* at full price (they have inflated MSRP). No thanks. I'll stick to a brand that actually stands behind its products.
