MEXC covered the scammer who stole my funds and then closed my case without resolving it
On 12 March 2024, I was defrauded of approximately USD 3,800 in EOS.
I traced the stolen cryptocurrency on-chain and established that the funds were transferred to an account on MEXC.
I immediately contacted MEXC and the Polish police. MEXC confirmed that they had identified the relevant account and that the funds/account had been frozen.
The case was later closed. MEXC did not return the funds and did not provide me with a satisfactory explanation for what happened to the frozen assets. Their correspondence also referred to information allegedly expected from law enforcement.
I subsequently pursued the matter with the Polish and Moldovan authorities. Both proceedings were eventually closed.
In March 2025 I filed a formal complaint with the Seychelles Financial Services Authority. Case reference: FSS-COMP-2025-039. The FSA subsequently stated that MEXC Global Ltd had not been licensed by the Seychelles FSA and that the entity had been struck off the Seychelles IBC register in August 2023.
I also submitted a GDPR data-access request to MEXC concerning my personal data and records relating to my case. MEXC did not respond to the request.
I have retained the blockchain transaction records, police documentation, FSA correspondence and the complete MEXC email correspondence.
I am publishing this review so that potential MEXC users can understand how my fraud case was handled after stolen funds were traced to their platform.
