Scamming the elderly and vulnerable

Somehow they managed to get our details and set up a direct debit for £250 without us knowing, and we have had no paperwork, so we don't have any idea what its for. Lloyds bank refuses to re-imburse us, having contacted the company, but won't give details of what evidence was given them. My wife has dementia and this has been very stressful. I think it is time for the Financial Conduct Authority to act.

Another scam, it seems

My aunt - in a nursing home - has had £250 taken from her bank account, presumably because they already had the details. Her house has been unoccupied for over a year and I'm sure I cancelled anything like this spurious service. No one answers the phone, and I have had no reply to my email. A letter did go to her house, but too late to cancel the DD.

Warning, total scam.

This company based in Bournemouth cold called my elderly dad last year and bullied him into setting up an annual DD for £250 for home service contract, no contract ever supplied so no idea what supposed to cover. We managed to stop payment at the bank and thought no more until 12 months later a letter came in post advising next £250 was due. Again we cancelled at bank. I have tried calling phone number on letter and website, phone doest take calls and no response by email so can't cancel DD other than keep asking bank not to pay it. I might be left with no option but to arrive on doorstep if it exists and have it out with them. Currently seeking lrgal advice. I'm not giving up on this it's sickening

Pressure tatics on the elderly for no service at all

Just like the last review - preying on the eldery - phoned my recently widowed mother and told her she had to pay £250 Direct Debit over they phone as part of a Goverment Scheme, she has literally had no service from them - she didn't want to but got scared and felt so pressureed she gave all her bank details over the phone, then called me in tears she was so scared. I have tired to call several times the line just gets cut off. Absolutley shocking tatics - My mother is on the TPA as well - literally no excuse for this approach.
