Avoid!! Awful - they belittle and dismiss you when you complain too!
Such an awful experience I hardly know where to start.
Edit: so they replied again to me, accusing me of not being able to see reality, and doubling down on insisting they're right and I'm wrong. They had a go at me for leaving this review too, saying I'm repeating "false information" even though I have screenshots. They're trying to gaslight and bully me. Utterly disgusting. How they're not brought to training standards I truly don't know. Companies should not be allowed to behave in this way.
Original review below:
I couldn't attend an event, so ordered a signed photo as a gift for a friend. Only they sent the wrong photo, and whoever copied my order onto a sticky note for the actress to know what to put did it wrong. They messed up the personalised message and added a character name... and then blamed the guest!
In spite of me explaining the issue and having screenshots and photos, the reply I received (very quickly and on Good Friday too, just to ruin my Easter weekend) was disgusting. It was dismissive and insulting, saying they'd done no wrong and it's up to the guest what they do with personalised messages.
There are no images when you order a photo through their signings site - you have to check the photo name against what's listed on the event site. I did this, checking it repeatedly to make sure. It seems that on their end they've assigned different numbers to the photos. I wanted #6. What they sent me is #5 on their site, and I very definitely didn't mess that up.
The reply was horrid for other reasons, including being told that there's no difference between "for" and "to" and they they're surprised I even noticed. Of course I did! I chose exact words for a reason! They also blamed me, as well as the actress, and totally glossed over the fact that I told them I can't see well enough to have noticed the tiny little image that was in the confirmation email. I was only able to focus on the text.
So my advice is to be very careful if you order from them, and not to do it if you can't afford the cost - and not just the monetary price but the toll to your stress levels and health if you're already in a bad place. The only hint that something might be wrong was that tiny little image on the confirmation email I received after paying. Even leaving aside the wrong photo issue, they completely messed up the personalisation and then blamed the actress to claim everything is fine as far as they can see.
It was supposed to be a gift too.
I really don't understand why they couldn't acknowledge the issue, apologise, and offer a resolution like any half decent customer service would. The fact their default is to attack and dismiss you when you raise concern about what you received suggests that this is how they conduct their business - they charge you whatever amount they want, put zero care or attention into the work, and then blame the customer when the poor quality is pointed out. Their "customer service" is truly vile.
I didn't think to check trustpilot before ordering, or I wouldn't have taken the risk. I really hope my review helps someone because as lovely as it would be to have a signed photo from one of your favourite actors, or no matter how perfect a gift it would make for a special someone, I urge you to consider how you'll feel if you spend the money and get the wrong image, wrong message, and/or other details changed.

I recently bought a signed collectible authenticated by Monopoly Events. The item has their hologram sticker with a unique code and a certificate of authenticity.
When I tried to verify the code on their website, I was told they would not register it because I was not the original purchaser. Apparently the authentication codes are not registered unless the original buyer asks them to do so.
This completely defeats the purpose of issuing coded hologram stickers and certificates. Signed collectibles regularly change hands between collectors, so an authentication system that only works for the original purchaser is practically useless.
As a result, I now have to consider paying another authentication company just so the item can actually be verified in the future.
Very disappointing and a poor system for collectors. I would strongly avoid.
Vendor Treatment
We are a vendor to start with. We made an error on a post and apologised for it. We were immediately informed that we would no longer be welcome to trade at any of their events (not that they had ever approved us to trade at any of their events in the first place) They dont like when your opinion differs from theirs and they absolutely play favourites with certain vendors, all you have to do is look at their trading lists for every event and you see the same people all the time. We found them so rude and obnoxious to deal with and im sure other vendors over the years have had the same issues but have been too afraid to speak out. We arent and we would welcome hearing other peoples stories regarding same issues.
The most ironic thing about it all is that we were defending them on a post!
AVOID - Unprofessional, unorganised, overpriced, rude
Unfortunately strongly advise you avoid Monopoly Event Company. I went to For The Love of Vampire Diaries Comic-Con and was incredibly disappointed as I believe a group of young studnets could have pulled it off better. The entire event felt incredibly unprofessional. The structure, marketing, graphic design and artwork all appeared poorly executed — key art was distorted, aspect ratios weren’t considered, and the website itself looked messy and unclear. Less like a professionally run convention and more like a disorganised school project.
All communication before and during the event was misleading and ambiguous. Important details weren’t clearly explained, and once at the venue, there was barely any signposting and the layout made no sense.
The Q&A stage was positioned directly next to the photo booths, which meant it was SO noisy. You could barely hear the panel guests because the microphones were too quiet and there were no proper sound controls in place. On top of that, there were far too few chairs (around 100), meaning most people had to stand — and even then, visibility of the stage was poor, crowds were pushy and staff were super rude. There should have been cameras projecting the stage onto screens, louder speakers, and significantly more seating.
Photo ops were massively oversold. I paid £200 for a photo op that lasted 15-20 seconds and was rushed the whole time by a rude photographer who even took it before I’d smiled. You get a basic printout (no sleeve or protection) and then have to pay extra for the digital copy. I also felt bad for the cast, who were clearly being pushed through huge queues with barely any time to interact. It felt transactional and impersonal.
I also felt genuinely sorry for the cast, who were standing for 8 hours taking photos back-to-back with very limited time to interact with fans. Monopoly events were greedy & tickets had been sold in excess of what could reasonably be accommodated.
Q&As were unmoderated or organised - meaning the same fans were allowed to ask repetitive questions to multiple guests, and there was no filtering of inappropriate or pointless questions.
The toilets were dirty with long queues, no parking available (but staff failed to mention this when directing us to the blocked gated car park), and almost everything inside costs extra on top of an already expensive entry ticket. No affordable options to simply meet or briefly greet guests. It would have been lovely to have an option (at the guests’ discretion) to just say hello or chat briefly without having to purchase a photo or autograph. Some lower-profile guests had no queues or fans going up to their tables at all, which was sad to see, but when everything is priced at a premium, most people simply cannot afford to meet everyone.
Overall, the event felt overcrowded, underplanned, overpriced, and poorly organised. With better layout planning (e.g. swapping the vendor & guest table areas), more seating, improved sound systems, clearer information, additional facilities, and more reasonable pricing structures, it could have been a far better experience.
I attended For The Love of Vampire…
I attended For The Love of Vampire Diaries on Saturday 7th February 2026 at BEC Manchester. I arrived a little before 9am, I parked close by with no issues and didn’t have to wait in a queue which was good. It was my first event and wasn’t sure what to expect. I entered expecting to be blown away with prop sets and an amazing visual display it was far from it. The stage area had a several rows of seats not a huge amount considering the capacity of it. There was a reasonable size stage with a sofa and chairs on for the guests. There were a few props here and there which were predominantly signs relating to the show but with no backdrop or anything. There was the Mystic Grill set up and there Savaltore living room. The stage area also had the photograph areas for those paying ridiculous prices for a picture with Ian and or Paul and other guests but these were surrounded by black curtains so you were lucky if you got a glimpse of anyone. There were autograph tables on the other side of this where some guests were happy to chat or wave but again you had to pay for a selfie for £30 plus using your own phone or pay for an autograph but these were quite expensive if you wanted several. Security staff kept telling people they had to move away from the guests and couldn’t take pictures but most people ignored them as some had said what was the point otherwise. I spoke with a few people who had travelled far and already paid for accommodation etc and were really disheartened by their own experience. Most people were expecting to see the main characters Ian and Paul but they didn’t make an appearance on Saturday at all we all waited in anticipation for a quick glimpse but there was no chance. They could have waved from the balcony area at least to make everyone’s day just once in the morning then again in the afternoon. I’d recommend that for next time and I’d also suggest some life size cut outs of them so people could take a picture with them and some other props maybe as there wasn’t much to look at in between panels otherwise. The people waiting for these photos and autographs also had to wait a long time. It did really put me off, it was just a few props here and there which looked cheap and cheerful, some staff were rude and it was oversubscribed. The merchandise for sale was a mixture of things. It was a Ripper off!!!
Organisation non existent
Organisation non existent, incorrect information given before the even and on the day. Over selling on the day autographs still selling after first photo sessions should have started. Awful if you’re disabled or additional needs.
Hardly any seating and over crowded. Lots of money to be messed about and then to be rushed through because of greed of overselling
Lost my Package
I sent a metal plaque to Monopoly Events in Liverpool for an autograph session. I initially made a mistake during the booking process, which was corrected. My package demonstrably arrived at Monopoly. Unfortunately, they can no longer find my item and I'm not receiving any response. My money is gone. Very unprofessional.

Comic-Con Scotland 2025
Comic-Con Scotland 2025 - Poorly organised, wait time in excess of 5 hours for a photo opp that cost £165. Plus £30 entry fee. No staff available to help, no communication, no response to several emails or my complaint. Shambles of a company. Take heed of this before you give them your money
Scottish disaster 2025
Comiccon Scotland 2025 was an absolute disaster.
1) My photo opportunity was delayed by almost 4 hours. It was scheduled for 13.20 (that was the earliest slot available) and I got into the booth at around 5 p.m. I guess one can imagine the extent of overbooking happening there.
2) Poor communication. Although the stewards did their best to be helpful, they didn't get any updates in time, so we had to get back to them every 15-20 minutes to find out what was going on. This meant we couldn't watch panels, meet other stars, have a proper look around etc.
3) There was one cafe and one coffeeshop - obviously not enough for the number of people attending. Bearing in mind that we had to go back to the stewards every 20 minutes, we just didn't have time to queue for food or drinks. I had to last for 11 hours on the breakfast I had at around 6.30 am.
4) No seats, free water or anything offered to ease waiting for fans. Some moms with small kids chose to leave without having their photos taken.
5) No equipment like screens, signs or megaphones to orginise queues. There were three lines queueing for the same thing that stewards had blend into one (the supervisor, though, can't be praised enough for his professionalism).
6) Hayden arrived an hour late due to a "traffic/logistics issue". Monopoly have been arranging this event for years and still don't know what time they have to pick up a celebrity.
7) The booth was just next to the stage with loud music and panels - we could barely hear the stewards or even Hayden himself.
8) Instead of apologies for the disaster all we got is some poor excuse on a FB page saying that meeting an A-level actor always involves waiting. I've been to other cons, met other A-level celebrities and it's never been 4 hours.
9) Extremely rushed: "1-2-3, next please!" You came in, you had your photo taken, you went out. You tried to turn your head to see if it was really Hayden and not some random guy? You'd hear "You have to leave now! Your time is up!" the very moment you dared to do so. Oh, and you obviously have to pay extra for a digital copy. Never seen a comiccon charge extra for that.
deceptive advertising
I ordered something off of them and what I purchased, was not what I received.
Be very cautious and careful when dealing with them!
Love for horror don’t bother.
Second time going to the love of horror. This time we bought tickets for skeet and Matthew lillard and they rescheduled which happens but the way the organisers were just rude online and saying just come to April. It’s annoying when you spend so much money and Monopoly events refuse to refund an event with a major guest change.
On the day, October 18th 2025 the building is just too small, you can’t see half of what venders have available because it’s just oversold. Monopoly Events lets guest wear costumes which are not practical in this type of venue, when it is squashed as is and someone on stilts is trying to get past and you have no where to go so you end up knocking into them because the venue is too small.
The whole con is just not good enough. Honestly spent less than 2 hours there and went home.
Just adding that Monopoly events tried to have my review removed for defamatory comments when this was everything I experienced at the event. Not one thing I said was a lie.
You couldn’t get a refund for the event when big guests cancel.
The event is too busy.
People wearing stilts should be banned as they nearly knocked me over.
I think they are bit cheeky to try and have it removed.
Shambles, overly busy and a horrific experience
Comic con Scotland was absolutely horrific.
Small venue, waited over 6 hours for ONE photo op and the company essentially blamed everyone but themselves.
Couldn't see half of "artist" alley (if you could call it that, all I saw was resellers), year after year this con disappoints me, staff were standoffish when asked what was going on with Hayden's photo op and showed little concern to those with mobility issues.
Sadly from personal experience I shouldnt have expected anything but from monopoly.
Comic Con Birmingham July 2025
A massive thank you to Shannon for her outstanding customer service! I 1st met Shannon last year at my 1st Monopoly Event FTLF in London. I was very anxious and found the experience overwhelming, Shannon stepped in and supported me and went above and beyond to turn my experience into one I'll never forget! So meeting her this year was an absolute delight! Had a problem with my photo op slot regarding timing and Shanon sorted out the issue! She even remembered myself and my friend from the year before (2 Glasweigan gals). A someone with a disability I struggle with social and communication issues. However, Shannon took time to listen, reassured and calmed me. She treated me with the upmost respect and supported me above my expectation! Shannon is an absolute Gem and an Asset to your business! Hope to see Shannon next year at Birmingham!

My daughter and myself went to the for the love of fantasy event in London this year, for the first time. I would like to give a massive shout out to the 2 ladies Shannon (stand G) and Emily (stand E) for their help with the photo shoots. There was a little confusion with one photo we had purchased on line and Shannon sorted it out straight away, amazing lady. My daughter wanted to purchase a photo shoot on the day, she was a little anxious to ask. Shannon took us to the stand to ask Emily if a photo could be purchased. Emily was just as amazing in sorting this out for my daughter! One happy daughter and one happy mummy. All the organisers where very helpful and polite. Very well organised. If it wasnt for Shannon and Emily I dont think our visit would have been as stress free as it was. Well done to you. Looking forward to next year's event. I think we are going to do both days next year!
For The Love of Fantasy 2025
Would like to do a special shoutout to two ladies Shannon & Emily who work on the desks for making our experience that little bit more easier and being helpful! The Love of fantasy was amazing and all staff done an amazing job with crowd control and helping guests out.
10/10 first time going and can’t wait to go back again next year. Fingers crossed they see this review ❤️
Disability discrimination!Disappointed but not surprised.
Disappointed but not surprised.
We attended Manchester Comic Con with my son, who uses an electric wheelchair — and the accessibility was appalling:
• Only 1 inaccessible “accessible” toilet
• No dropped kerbs or safe access
• Dismissive staff, poor training
• No reply from @MonopolyEvents after 3 attempts
We were planning to attend #ForTheLoveOfFantasy this week — but I won’t subject my son to another day of exclusion and stress.

Birmingham Comic Con July 2025
Positive: Great stalls. Well air conditioned especially since the Saturday was a hot day. Talk to some nice people. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Negative:
Disorganised with Diamond Pass especially with amount spent for the ticket.
Line where chaotics especially the way you chose to organise the diamond pass "line".
The diamond pass was off to one corner with an arch sign. No line just everyone standing in front of the arch waiting to be seen too. You went up and told the one person standing there whose signature you wanted who then walked you to that celebrity from the back then walked you through the long line and then placing you on the front of the line to one side next to a standard ticket holder and not even saying anything like 'this person has a diamond pass and they are next".
Poor communication: My husband stood in Daniel Gillies line for over an hour only to get to the front and be turned away as there were no sign saying pre-paid autographs only or no awareness made on the website that autograph session meant prepaid only.
Unfortunately you over sold and under delivered. People spend a lot of money on tickets, getting to the event and at the event and it felt that you guys did not put much of that funds into the organisation of the event.
I suggest you organise your lines better. People fork £150 for Diamond pass to jump the line but not even organised properly.
Suggestions: maybe have a diamond arch at each end of the long row of celebrity's table so for example one at the end Tyler Hochelin and another at the end Joseph Morgan was at, that way a diamond pass did not have to walk pass a crowded convention from one end to the other.
Also suggest taking people through the front of the line and popping them in front of the que.
A comic con we went to in Liverpool 2019 was done well. The diamond pass line was in the middle and then rows fanned out on either side. There was better structure. Someone would come up ask whose signature you wanted then take you to the front of the line and communicate to the staff member working that celebrities table that this person is next.
lack of organisation
I've attended cons since 2014, and monopoly events for the past 3 years Liverpool Manchester and most recently Birmingham, and year on year these get worse for organisation and any care for the fans, and the pressure of the guests to stay on tables and later for photos etc as the event is always running over due to Monopoly way over selling tickets and having no clue how to get the event running smoothly, the amount of staff who don't know where to tell you to queue for Auto/pictures etc. everyone in the queues felt the same.
unfortunately no pun intended but they have the current monopoly on guests as other conventions cant book the guests
Great but need better organisation
I absolutely love the monopoly events and the comic cons, but they need better organisation. It’s happened twice now. I went to Liverpool and Birmingham. And both were so unorganised with the main guests. They sell too many photos and autos, and it’s always running behind. Happened with Hayden in Liverpool and now Ian and Paul in Birmingham.
The guests you bring are great. But people end up missing guests or panels because the queuing is so behind.
The staff are rude and rush you through. I know they are doing their job but we pay a lot of money for these events.
They need to be better organised
