Morgan Stanley London office

Morgan Stanley London office have a disgusting way of treating their temporary workers who they employ for up to 2 years. When management decide they no longer need the temporary worker instead of letting the worker know they just cancel the worker's access to the office building after the worker has gone home so they cannot get back in, then cowardly get the recruitment agency the worker came from to call them to let them know.

Morgan Stanley is a disappointment

I have account for many years with etrade and I have very good experience.
I try to move to Morgan Stanley to manage my account and realized that it was not worse the effort .There is actually no one to talk to and response time very slow .they employ a group of people that the customer needs are not a priority there

Better Options Out There

We have a small Etrade account that we don't use much but as interest rates have been dropping I have be looking for a better place to park some cash. Morgan Stanley talked me into opening a high yield savings account through my Etrade website and transfer money to it and ultimately have them be my advisor. I opened the account and then tried to add on spouse, NO GO! Could do a power of attorney or apply for a new account, NO THANK YOU! Then I wrote a check from chase and did a mobile app deposit and it's still not available and yet it already cleared Chase. Then I added two external accounts to my other bank as my advisor suggested and I transferred 100,000 from each account. 5 hours later I got a failure from trade.. I called and they said I could only transfer 100k a day. I explained that I was trying to transfer a total of 750,000 and I really don't want to take the next 8 days to do it. He said it's easy to do, REALLY, I have better things to do with my time. Then I asked if the second 100,000 failed from this morning and he said he didn't know, it won't show up for 2-3 days! Seriously, you're telling me that I transfer 100,000 and I can't even see a record of it from a linked external account! Then after digging around trades sight for over 1 hour I found that my 100,000 will be place in my account in 7 days!!! Thanks but I am now going to transfer out the couple hundred grand that did make it in back to my other accounts and close my other accounts with Etrade, Morgan Stanley and Morgan Stanley Private Bank. And to think I was ultimately looking at letting them manage a couple million dollars..... NO THANK YOU!!

I would give them a 0 if I could

I would give them a 0 if I could. They are crooks and totally incompetent. I had my money in their high yield savings for 2 years and when I went to transfer my Roth savings to Vanguard, it took 6 months and at least 20 phone calls to get it done. Then in converting the account to cash they shorted me $4000. Save yourself the heartache of dealing with these, mostly children trying to do a professional financier's job. I'm just so disappointed!

Why would Jonathan Karelitz (my Financial Advisor at MORGAN STANLEY) entice me to buy an investment...something I come to later find out that I CANNOT sell when I want to! He sucked me into buying a REIT, and didn't tell me that I could NOT sell it when I wanted to!!! Such a SLEAZY move- NOW it has lost thousands of dollars, & I can't sell it and I just watch it go further down $$$ the drain! RUN AWAY!!!

Banking in the 1990s

I was gifted some shares, held by Morgan Stanley, and was looking to sell. I got their app, but couldn’t register as I needed a US passport or social security number. As I am not a US citizen or resident I had neither. All contact with MS had to be made by phone or fax (remember them?). I had several numbers all of which did not get through to people but would ring 5 times and hang up. The 24 hour help line is an international call and expensive on a mobile phone as I do not have a landline. The UK number transfers you to a call centre in Denver. It took 3 days to get a number at the correct office. Once I got contact things seemed to move smoothly. Accounts were updated, forms exchanged promises were made to call me when I wanted to sell. 3 emails ( yes they do have them) were sent saying I wanted to sell but no call came. I called back and was told an email of the transaction would be sent, never came. I called to fine out and clarify money transfer, exchanged forms and heard nothing. I called again and was told to expected the money. The money came but I have no records of the sale, tax paid, costs incurred or currency exchange. All of this will be required for tax purposes. This whole process took 2 weeks to complete.

Only support option is a phone-call

If you work for a US based multinational, live outside the US and have stock options...and have a choice.. go with Fidelity, not MS. I wish I followed my colleagues advice. While MS are polite, every single engagement is painful, repetitive, and the ONLY support option is by phone. Give the number of terrible reviews over an extended period of time, I'd go as far as saying that don't even care.

Excellent

My father passed away last year. He had a fairly substantial amount of money stashed away with Morgan Stanley. They made the transfer very easy and fast. It wasn't an easy time, and they took care to make it as simple as possible. Mostly, it was Sandra Guerrant who handled things for me. I am very grateful to her for everything she did.

Terrible experience with Customer…

Terrible experience with Customer Service. They do not call you back, nor put things in writing. Instead, they ask you to call them back to check status of any issue you may have. After almost 2 months I am still dealing with the same issue.

The worst financial company I've ever…

The worst financial company I've ever dealt with. Unfortunately, they are the broker for my companies stock program. I exercised some options and awaited the check. It never arrived.

After three calls totaling about an hour on the phone, they told me:

1) they can't track the letter because they sent as one would send a Christmas card (standard mail)

2) they can stop payment and reissue a new check but it will take about 3 weeks and the check will arrive in about a month.

3) It will cost me 35 dollars to cover a mistake that I didn't cause. It's not a lot of money, but I loathe the concept on principle.

If it is at all under your control, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Zero stars

Zero stars - intransparent company with no supervision. They do not understand commerce - they think the client is their employee, they have no successful communication mechanism and do not want to resolve issues.
There are far too many stories identical to mine - they ask for more documentation, they never acknowledge receipt of the documentation and block the access to you account. Companies who give stock awards to employees need to fine a better guardian of such awards.

Horrible

Horrible. They block your account every six months but one can never get the Verification Code. No email address only a tel number in USA, so from SA the call costs me $10 for 2 minutes and still they don't fix the problem....big mistake. They have only elusive people at this company...what are they afraid of...makes you wonder.
