Bought the journey set last August 19. The front wheels squeek and the rain cover is CHEAP and has now spilt in the seams and the breathing holes. I ordered a replacement from ebay for £3 and... See more

Mothercare - Great.
I've been to Mothercare store's, both by myself and with my siblings on multiple occasions, and we seem to have the same experience each time. The staff have been very friendly and quite helpful in finding alternatives to items that we might like.
They always have a great range of pushchairs and carriers, and not just for newborns, as safety is important to us. I especially like how adjustable and flexible they can be.
The only downside is how expensive their toys range is, compared to a lot of other major high street retailers, which I can't fault entirely as I don't go there for toys. Their changing bags are also quite pricey.
I would definitely recommend Mothercare for their pushchairs and carriers.

Refused to check car seat safety or advise
Had bought two car seats from an online retailer however wasn’t sure we had installed them safely so drove to mothercare as they stocked the same seats and offered installation safety checks as So I thought they could take a look and could advise is they were safely installed. I went in an approached a sales member in the car seat section and explained the situation and asked could they just check I’d installed them right and was told not if I hadn’t bought them from mothercare and would need proof of purchase I pointed to the exact same car seat on display but the lady refused to have a look at mine. Now any other product I’d understand but I was asking an “expert” to tell me I’d installed something right that could be potentially lethal if I’d done it wrong but apparently mothercare only values money not child safety. Luckily I went to Halfords and their car seat expert was happy to check my seat and advise me on how to install it.
Updated to respond to mothercare sadly Halfords pointed out the the car seatseats were unsuitable for the car and helped us choose new ones so they got our money that day and I will never buy from mothercare again as you were quite happy to put money before child safely!

mothercare Edmonton
my husband and I went into mothercare edmonton today. we are going to be first time parents in October and have no clue on what pushchair and car seat to buy. the store was very busy which we expected on a saturday afternoon. Anne Marie approached us and apologised for the wait and said she will find someone to help as she was will a customer. we were introduced to nej a member of management she apologised for the wait and congratulated us and asked when we were due and what we were having. she went through 4 different travel systems with us and answered all our questions and demonstrated them for us. she was very patient and spent nearly an hour with us. very happy with the service and she made us feel very welcome and comfy. we told her we wasnt ready to buy which she said was fine and invited us to a parent event which she signed us up for and she said would benefit first time parents as there would be first aid and sleep safety talks. credit where credit is due. cannot believe a member of management took an hour to help us very rare. delighted with the service

Horrendous customer service
I am so dissapointed with the customer service. I am currently pregnant and due soon. I had shopped around for a gliding nursing chair and found that most shops were either too expensive or of similar price. I decided to go with Mothercare. How wrong was I. I ordered the chair on 19th June (preorder for delivery 10th July) well a week went by after the expected delivery and nothing. No email correspondence, no phone call, nothing. I spoke to there customer service live chat to which I was told that their stock was low and expected in a few days. Another week went by, still no correspondence or messages or chair. I live chat with them again. Told my disappointment and no real apology just that stock is expected in August. I was so unhappy as I know Amazon could get the same chair for the same price to me within days. So I requested a cancellation. STILL NO EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE. Nothing. So a few days later a RANG the helpline to get it cancelled. Not a single apology. She told me she would ring me back within an hour for confirmation of cancellation. It is now 3 days later and still no phone call!!! I have no idea if it is cancelled or not and cannot purchase another chair as I don't want to then be charged for a chair when they get into stock. DO NOT EVEN TRY TO PURCHASE ONLINE. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL. I will be making an official complaint and hope that this is solved ASAP. Extremely frustrated and annoyed, heavily pregnant lady... Still without a nursing chair. I think I'll stick to Amazon.

Perfect service
I visited the Cribbs Causeway store this morning where the assistant Matt spent a generous amount of his time clearly explaining all the travel system options available. He was extremely knowledgeable and demonstrated different car seats very competently. I have come away feeing really informed under no pressure to purchase today. I cannot thank him enough and will be recommending him to anyone who asks.

Excellent Customer Service
I had an issue with the Mothercare e-voucher website where I was told my first order of a giftcard had failed, so I bought another one - turns out both went through and I was charged twice what I had wanted to spend!
I called the e-voucher helpline and spoke to a lovely lady called Stephanie, she offered to cancel one of the giftcards and do a refund - unfortunately this wasn't an option as the recipient had already received both giftcards and thanked me for my generosity - as this was a colleague of mine I was not in a position to ask for the money back!
Stephanie offered to speak to her department head to get it sorted and credit to her - when I called back the next day it was all sorted and my money was being refunded without the embarrassment of me having to ask my colleague not to use one of the cards!
4 stars as the issue with the website was annoying but the customer service was brilliant and both Stephanie and the other lady I spoke to initially (didn't catch her name) were lovely, polite and helpful. Excellent experience!

Absolutely terrible returns system
Absolutely terrible returns system. No returns label in my order. I had to print it myself and list every item. Not pre-printed for me like most places. Then I had to book the returns collection for Collect + myself. Not free from the post office which is annoying.
This is ridiculously time consuming and not very customer friendly. Pretty strange to me considering your customer base is parents that probably don't have a lot of time to fuss about with returns. It's 2019, get with the times Mothercare!

Just got back from a car-seat fitting…
Just got back from a car-seat fitting at Mothercare Leicester. Colleen Howell, the assistant who helped me was excellent! She was very knowledgeable about the different sorts of car seats and shared some really useful safety information, which I hadn't found online despite doing lots of research. She went the extra mile and clearly had a lot of expertise. She also demonstrated how to fit the car seat (both in store and in my car) in a really clear and concise way and I no longer feel daunted by the prospect of fitting my car seat into my 3 door car! Please pass on my thanks to her for her great customer service and let her manager know. Highly recommended. Ms B. Hare

Awful service
Awful service, have ordered a cotbed, mattress and changer. When placing the order I was told the mattress would be with me between the 5th and the 9th July, and fair enough it did actually turn up on the 5th July. Now this is when the fun starts, on the same day of placing the order I was told that the cotbed and changer would be with me on the 16th July - Great! I booked it off of work (unpaid, might I add) now it comes to the 12th July and I get an email to be told I need to book delivery (okay fine I don't mind) only for them to tell me I had to book it for Wednesday the 17th July. - Ask work if I can have this day off instead, luckily my work are good and let me change the days over. - Now, Monday 15th July, I get an email that mothercare have tried to take £195 from my bank, now this is a bank I don't use often so don't keep any money in there, obviously there wasn't enough money in there to cover that payment. I called mothercare and advised them of what had happened, the lady on the phone took payment then and there and I watched it come out of my bank at that moment (this was no more than an hour after the initial email) I asked why payment hadn't been taken at the point of placing the order, to switch she replied 'it wasn't in stock' - this is completely UNTRUE, the whole reason we ordered this set was because it was all in stock and would be delivered by the 16th!! I also have screenshots to prove that this was in stock on the day of ordering it. - I asked about delivery of the TWO items I had coming (they were both booked and email confirming that there were TWO items on that delivery) she told me I would get an email and would need to re-book delivery and ask them to deliver both on the same day. I waited and low and behold no email. I called today after only ONE item turned up. The person on the phone then told me that due to the delayed payment the delivery had been split.. I now have had to phone the delivery company (which costs money FYI!) and waste time trying to rearrange delivery. Which means yet ANOTHER UNPAID day off of work to await delivery next week for something that should of been here yesterday. Explain to me how this is fair as this was mothercare's mistake for not taking the payment? I now have to have two unpaid days off work, which means I will now lose over £100 in wages, and I have had to spend money calling all of these different companies... are they gonna give me my money back? No doubt it!!

Online delivery not good enough.
A purchase from the online store...the product was fine...as described and reasonable quality but the time it took to get to us, bearing in mind the cost of postage was unacceptable. It took a number of days to get dispatched from the time of ordering and then it got ‘lost’ in the post. It wasn’t till I emailed to complain that they resent the item. Wouldn’t use them again. The stores may be ok.

Brilliant service in Swindon.
Would just like to say a massive thank you to Carl and his team for refunding in full our pushchair order today.
Carl and his team showed wonderful compassion and passed on kind thoughts to us in the light of very sad news of a miscarriage which had led to this unfortunate situation.
We are most grateful for this.
We use the store frequently and always find the staff helpful and polite and the store carries a good amount of stock.
The Clarks outlet team are exceptional and also deserve a mention.

Joie Stroller -faulty brake
Stroller -faulty brake!
I purchased a Joie Nitro lightweight Caviar stroller from Mothercare which has a faulty break, in the sense that the brake lifts once applied every time, I would usually have taken this up with them directly but am finding it impossible to get through to Customer Service.

£20 compensation for 6 weeks delay and 2 days waiting for delivery
I wish I read the reviews first, delivering bulky items home is a nightmare. I received no notifications and stayed at home 2 days to receive a pushchair. I've called and used chat with no luck asking me to wait for the system to update, when someone called they told me they had no idea when it would be delivered, they contacted the supplier and they were unable to give a time frame. Meantime they delivered it 1 hour before they called me. Clearly supply chain and communication issues plague this company. The insult was £20 voucher for waiting 6 weeks and wasting 2 days. Go to M&S, Debenhams, kiddiecare or amazon.

Excellent customer service from Sophia at Northampton
I ordered a Silver cross double pram online, which had a special offer to include the car seat, isofix base and hood and apron. Unfortunately I didn’t add these extras to my basket, as I thought they would automatically be included. I rang customer services and was basically told there was nothing they could do as the offer ended that night, so I called the Northampton branch where we had seen the offer to see if they could help. I spoke to a lovely girl called Sophia, who was so helpful and arranged to look into this and call me back within a few hours. She stuck to her word and called me back after speaking to her manager who approved the other items I hadn’t added to my basket. Such a different & pleasant experience to ringing head office and getting no where. I can’t thank you enough, (and your manager) and it shows what brilliant customer service you have in your store. I will definitely come directly to you in future. Thank you again so much :-) Nicola

We were asked several times if we needed any help or Information. Fab service and a lovely day very happy with all I brought. Thank you 😊

Not happy with this service
Not happy with this service. My parcel address was fair enough slightly wrong. No one coancted me for 8 days until I thought someone wasn’t right and contacted them. I was told by a Julie that works there, she was addiment she could see I’d been contacted. Then changes her story and says oh actually no one has emailed you. So I was lied to. Then one item in my delivery was not in stock either. Did anyone contact me? No. It’s just a mess. They girl that was dealing with me on the online chat was rude, repetitive and quite frankly didn’t seem to know what she was doing. Won’t be ordering again.
