Let me first say this review is a long and my treatment has been awful.

Let me first say this review is a long time coming. I work in customer service and you do not just ignore customers, especially not good ones. Ive put more work into staying a member through you than your own employees. Its absolutely unprofessional to not return a call, email, text - ever. One time okay, twice meh, three tines is rough - ive reached out over 10 times. I am a business development manager, i work with people all day - easy and hard people to deal with. Never in my life have i blatantly avoided and ignored a paying customer. Why ?. Fast forward to today, I call to give msgcu the opportunity to keep my auto loan, i cant call my local branch because nobody respobds to me - wish i could rely on my rep because the lady who answered was so rude that when she laughed at me i told her " you know what, im good. " and hung up. Is this how you guys treat people now? I work at a dealership, i have suggested you so many times - never again. Im not even mad, im disappointed and im really irritated your personal office politics are literally coming between my finances. This is incredibly unprofessional and i want to know why im being blatantly ignored and treated like crap. I will be reaching out to talk to someone about my experience. My banker at saline was jeremie goerlitz and in ann arbor/canton years ago ( who stopped responding which is how i found saline closer to my home ) it was jessica mooneyham. I just bought my vehicle 30 minutee ago to, 750 credit score, mid 5% rate. All i wanted was basic customer service, a payoff and to know if you wanted to meet my rate. I hate leaving bad reviews, but the way i have been treated is so off-putting im upset. I have proof if all my attempted, unresponded to, contacts.

I do not know where the main office is…

I do not know where the main office is or the death claim/payments office is, so this is directed to that facility.

Hello,
My mom (who just passed away Nov. 22, 2024) and I were members of Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union for at least 30 years. We had a joint checking and savings account. Mom had a separate visa, and I had a separate checking and savings account.

Mom had her income auto deposited into our checking. When she passed away, there was approx. $1608 in her checking and $8 in her savings. $780 of the money in checking was her pension which had to go back because of her passing. MSGCU took it upon themselves to empty her checking and savings to pay back a portion of the visa and locked the account. There was no notice or anything. She only owed approx. $4000 on visa. Now, I will owe the $780 back to pension AND she also had more SS money coming to that account because of the time of the month she passed.

Everything I've researched says this is not legal but to hire a lawyer would cost more than what is owed. They will not work with me. All I am asking for is the $780 to be paid back to her pension. The visa was not in default. There was NO reason for them to touch the money without any notification or anything. If something like this happens to you I highly recommend you empty your account(s) before MSGCU, does it for you.

Frustrated,
tmarcwho

Best credit union in Southeast Michigan

Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union has been my financial institution for well over a decade. Aside from savings/checking accounts, they've serviced vehicle loans, personal loans, and HELOCs for my family many times. Tellers and loan officers are great to work with, their customer service is spot on, and their branches are clean and efficient.

Best CU in SE Michigan!
