Disgusting treatment
I bought a mower listed for sale by MST on eBay. I bought and paid for the item and having had the order confirmed received a collection code and automated message to collect the mower.
A courier was found and dispatched at significant expense to collect. A round trip of 400miles. I called MST to ask about exact timing and collection details and was told I would be called back.
2 hours later I received a message from MST via eBay stating the item I had paid for was no longer available for sale. I called the courier to tell them this and they started their return journey.
I emailed the sales Director who called me back to explain the item was actually already sold. That was then altered to it was sold but not paid for and that the listing stated there was VAT to pay. I offered to pay for the VAT but explained the listing error was not my fault and that there was a courier en-route. I was told that despite it being 'sold' to someone else, the fact that it had not been paid for meant I could buy it. I explained that I had already paid for it in full and received confirmation via PayPal.
I was told by the Director the item could be collected.
Another member of staff then called me to tell me that the item could not be collected until it had been paid for and that they had processed a refund via PayPal.
I was then offered a choice - pay again, in full and wait for their PayPal account to refund me or have no mower.
I asked why I was expected to be taking all the risk due to their mistake and asked what they would do mitigate the £450 I had lost in courier costs due to their error.
I was told again, no payment (again) no mower.
I have had to pay twice for same item. After 48 hrs I still have not been refunded my initial payment and having paid for another courier this company accepts absolutely no responsibility for their error or the costs incurred by me due to their mistake. MST has made no effort whatsoever to even engage on the prospect of any sort of goodwill gesture towards my costs incurred by their mistake. What an appalling company to have the misfortune of dealing with. Avoid, because if anything goes wrong and it's entirely their fault but they have your money, like me, you'll be on your own.
A week later I have still not been refunded
Two weeks later STILL NO REFUND
