Absoloute nightmare !!!
Absoloute nightmare !!!!
I was with green star (gas & electricity) for a year and switched to British Gas. About 8 months later I started receiving gas bills monthly, the initial bill was for about £400!! Baring in mind I had been left Green star for almost a year and religiously paying my British Gas (duel energy) bills all of this time!
I questioned Green star on this and sent proof of British Gas bills, and images of new gas, electricity and smart meters installed by BG. I then started receiving debt collection letters along side monthly bills; all threatening.
When I AGAIN emailed green star and copied in the debt company I received an arrogant, hostile response stating that “according to the national grid green star still supply gas to this property and it was my responsibility to ensure that energy Had been fully switched before paying money to another company” ... let’s not forget they didn’t bill me for 8 months (hmmmm?!).. funny that, considering when I search for my gas supplier, all searches say BG!
Green star remain reluctant to resolve this issue and continue to send monthly bills!
Steer clear !!!!!!!!!

Not very good
I finally managed to leave GreenStar in 2018 after a long struggle. However they've popped up again, sending me threatening emails for an account that was closed two years ago, for a supply that was disconnected three years ago. They really are mindbogglingly bad.

the website is useless
the website is bonkers. sometimes you log on and you can't put your meter reading in. sometimes you can for electricity but gas has just disappeared, like they don't supply you with gas. But they do charge you for it...? I had a call out of the blue to ask me to raise my monthly DD by about 100 quid. I said can't I just pay off the balance? Answer yes. So I did in full. Next week I get a debt collection company letter. WTAF?

THIS IS A SATANIC COMPANY
THIS IS A SATANIC COMPANY
I am still fighting this company. It's like your fighting with the DEVIL. I was with this company for two years. I paid my bills religiously. When I tried to leave because I was unhappy with there service and overpriced bills, it was like trying to get out of HELL. They blocked my transfer to another company even though I had paid my bills in full. Complaints went unnoticed. They dont reply to emails. All they do is send you threatening letters. When I did manage to leave and pay my final bill. Two months into me being with a new energy provider, Greenstar randomly sent me an estimated bill for £400 which they said I owed them, but they couldn't explain how. Threatening letters pursued from these DEVILS and it got so bad I had to take them to the Odbudsman to fight my case. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM. YOU WILL BE THROWN INTO A PIT OF HELL WHICH IS A NIGHTMARE TO GET OUT OF!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
UPDATED!!!
Useless! 15 calls in and 8 emails in, still no closer to resolving this overpriced bill.
Spoken to 5 agents now and they never call back, despite them saying that it was a mistake that they had made which caused this high bill to occur.
Youll notice that nobody will respond to any of these reviews either.
15TH JULY 2020
After seeing a response below, I was told to contact them on their social media pages, which I did. This is purely a smoke screen as noone offered any resolution to this case. AGAIN, waste of time.
Hi, I received a reply on Trust Pilot today from Gurpreet, who asked me to send my name and details here on Facebook.
My name is **********, of ***************l.
email address is ****************com
My bill was estimated and one of your agents had told me themselves that this was incorrect, and since then I have sent several emails with no resolve.
If this cannot be resolved then I will pay what you have instructed your collections agency to take from me, and make a concerted effort to make a blog post about my experience and leave reviews on every possible outlett.
If you want to call me then my number is **************
Hello Delroy, for change of supply final bills, we are sent the final reading by your new supplier. We use their opening reading as our final read to ensure that there are no cross overs in charges. This is a standard industry wide procedure.
Would you like to discuss a payment plan for the final amount? ^Liam.
Hi Liam, That's not really the resolution I was looking for. I was promised a call back to go over the details several times now and not heard back
The initial bill was wrong. Your colleague told me that.
Then I was sent a letter from the collections agency
Shortly after the collections agency sent me an offer to pay a lower amount of just over £1200 as a settlement figure
If we can agree a lower settle figure ill pay and call it a day
3:02 PM
Unfortunately, I am unable to offer a settlement figure, I do apologise. You would be required to discuss the settlement figure with the debt agency. I am sorry. ^Stacey
Then your comments and reply on Trustpilot were pointless then. since you told us to contact you here and yet still you offer no resolve.

Less than one if I could
Less than one if I could. Keep harassing me with treats of debt collectors even though I switched to Bulb over 12 months ago. They keep sending bills with wrong meter reference number on. Have told them twice now but still get bills for over £500 .They don’t seem to know how to sort something simple like this out. Totally useless company. Do not use. Use Bulb instead. Greenstar might go bust with a bit of luck. "Green star" asked me to contact them trough Facebook, I don't do facebook, so how do they expect me to contact them ?

Poor Services- Lack of Problem Solving Skills
I have called Green Star Energy more than 5 times for the same issue. I have given you all the details about the mistakes YOU made regarding my bill. Contract, monthly payments and meter readings. Although your agents say that you have solved it and you are sorry, I am still receiving a notice and wasting my time to reach you. For 7 months I have been wasting my time to solve a problem that you created and you don't seem able to solve. Some of your agents hung up on me, some "took notes" to "pass it on" and others said that "sorted" it. Still trying to see who will solve it. I wouldn't recommend to anyone to use your services.

Avoid at all cost
After 3+ months of disputing our bill, we have still not heard back from them on any occasion we have been promised updates. We have rang almost weekly, contacted through social media and still not heard anything.
This morning I have been told that yes they acknowledge there is an issue with the bill, but theY closed our complaint without even calling us to discuss our complaint.
They closed it as unresolved as well!!
They have sent numerous bills out trying to resolve this issue, but have today admitted they know the bills they’re sending are wrong. So why send them?
Would be very grateful if someone would actually contact us. Preferably someone that knows what is going on and can explain it to us. So far no one seems to know what the problem is but they all say there is a problem.

Huge scam
Huge scam. Overcharged by a ridiculous amount never had a reading all were absurd estimates. We had to pay the stupid bill and then they start chasing us for money when it had been fully paid it was even passed to debt collectors even though it was fully paid. They acknowledged it was already paid over the phone twice. We have proof luckily. They also use a collector who you cannot contact and has a reputation as illegal bully boys. Lovely. Dont do it.

This is the worse energy supplier I…
This is the worse energy supplier I have e dealt with.
I had a dispute with them it went on for over a year,
Their customer service is appalling and no one understands what you are trying to explain or say to them, They do not even correspond to the clients either in a letter or email to make you aware that the energy bill is going up or down.
they just take your money out of your account
The problem is when you agree to direct debits they have access to your account and can take money out any time and how much they do not contact you at ALL
after my dispute with them and involving the ombudsman I now have to pay the outstanding bill,
But even though there is an agreement with green
star energy that I pay a monthly amount via standing order
They have got three different credit management demanding I pay in full
ringing and talking again to the energy company asking why this is still all happening ???
they constantly say its all in hand
which it is not they are the most incompetent and deluded liars EVER.

Absolutely terrible customer service
Absolutely terrible customer service. We’ve bought a property and trying to get their meter removed for 6 months. I am just passed from person to person, told to call and then told to email and then told to call etc and now I am just being ignored for 2 days. It’s really not that hard to arrange an appointment for a customer to have their meter removed. Avoid them at all costs.

Shocking experience like many many…
Shocking experience like many many others. Scam of a company. Thank heavens they're going. They trap you into staying by sending you a ridiculous bill (debt) so you can't leave. I'm confused how they've been able to get away with this for so long and not been investigated. No-one seems to be able to help. On a fixed rate and pay a little over the amount they ask for each month and some how we're still in debt with them. Let's hope that Shell do a better job.

I was scammed & sent £1400 bill!
Don’t be fooled by their response on this post! I sent them an email weeks ago and no response. It’s all for show!!!!
I’m a student this company Scammed me out of £1400! I used to pay £50pm but bill has doubled despite being told it won’t increase much when my contract ended. the customer service is terrible. It’s taken over a year to investigate this and shoved a student a £1400 bill. They don’t care and won’t accept their faults.
