I’m disappointed with the recent…

I’m disappointed with the recent National Lottery app update, before the update everything worked perfectly, I had all my favourite numbers saved and could easily check my tickets and results, now my saved numbers have disappeared, the app sometimes doesn’t load properly and checking previous tickets is much more difficult, I’m also disappointed with the new Powerball, a £446 million jackpot sounds impressive but paying £4 per play for a prize paid over 30 years simply doesn’t seem worth it, I’ve personally decided to boycott Powerball and I would encourage other players to do the same, I’ve also started cutting back on other games and now I mainly stick to set for life and Lotto and don’t even play EuroMillions anymore, overall the recent changes have made the National Lottery experience worse rather than better

Hi Mantas, thank you for leaving us your feedback on Trustpilot.

Sorry to hear that you are having some issues with the app. You can save your favourite numbers if you do the following:
Sign into your account,
Select the game you would like to play.
Go to 'Favourite Numbers'.
A screen will then appear showing you your favourite numbers.
If you would like to edit these, you will need to add a new line and delete your old ones.
If you don't have any favourite numbers, you can add these by clicking '+ New Favourite Number.
I hope that helps. ^Jack

Surprise Surprise LOTTO replied with their marketing strategy

Surprise Surprise.. The national lottery replied back on my review after 2 days to say they had jackpot winners(I already updated my review that night) .. Lets see when we have the next one.. They have not replied for past few weeks when we have no winners and they surely are reading comments but only reply back wheb they want to use this last draw for marketing purposes that they had 2 jackpot winners.. Let see when we get the next jackpot winners.. We are all watching the sequences of JACKPOT winners not your average 1 millionaire per draw.... Nobody likes or want this new format... Show us the Real study that players wanted this format..

Hi Kay, thank you for comment.
We love making winners and have made over 100 millionaires on Lotto so far this year. However we can't guarantee that someone will win the Jackpot in every draw, it is a Lottery after all. ^Jack

Today I have cancelled my National…

Today I have cancelled my National Lottery account I’m totally dissatisfied with the new format and the new forecast for prize money. It’s a rip off and they have destroyed the game for greed.
I had account from day one and I wasn’t even asked why which says it all it’s all about profit for them why have they been allowed to do this as charity’s are receiving the lowest awards ever.
Shame on you.

Don’t hold up much luck of winning

When you play this just think you probably won’t win !!!! £4 for one line and no hope in hells chance to get anything !!! Why don’t they make more winners ? Or more chances ? Also online win games are crap … played £6 won £1 !!! No wonder they can give all the charities money all the time with our hard earned money… I don’t think they have ever read any of these reviews !!! A complete bag of plop !!

Hi Rebecca, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.
The National Lottery was started to fund Good Causes all over the UK and IOM. We make lots of winners and you can read about some of them here: www.national-lottery.co.uk/life-changing

What's the point of a £1 prize

I don't understand why they changed the prize breakdown, or gave us 2 chances on each line. They make it sound better, but actually it's worse. What is the point of winning a £1 for 2 numbers ? It's also now £10 for 3 numbers. That's gone back in time. £30 for 3 numbers was a much better prize. Makes you wonder if it's worth it.

HI Leesie, Thank you for leaving us your feedback on Trustpilot.
Some of the lower tier prizes have changed, however you can still become a millionaire by having 2 chances at matching 5+BB or the Jackpot numbers.
In Saturday's Lotto draw we created 2 Jackpot winners and 5 millionaires through 5+BB, of which 6 of these winners were created in Round 2. This would not have been possible under the previous format. ^Jack

The impossible dream.

Like a lot of reviewers i think the 2 chances of winning, but at one third of the prize at lower tier, match 5 balls downwards, is a backward step.

& sure, the expansion of the numbers to pick from have made "the impossible dream" not just "near impossible" but also no fun. Just logged on to find my amazing prize of half the ticket price.

But my main reason for 1 star is the new Powerball game. Do people know that we are actually playing the American game, but they pay $2 for a ticket & we pay £4 (approx $5.36) for the same ticket. Good luck subsidising the prize pot for the next winner in the USA.

Hi Frankie, thank you for leaving us your feedback on Trustpilot.
The prize structure for UK players differs considerably from that in the US. This means that, while the price per line is greater, the UK non-jackpot prizes are very generous.
For example, the UK game will feature an extra ‘Match 2 main numbers’ prize tier, which is only available to UK players and offers a fixed prize of £8. The ‘Match 5 main numbers’ tier also offers a fixed prize of £1 million, while all other UK prize tiers offer generous estimated prizes – which vary depending on the balls drawn, the number of winners in each tier and currency exchange rates. ^Jack

The new lotto prizes are so poor it's pathetic the cost of a ticket is more than you can win and to win any amount of money is all wrong you have totally let the yourselves and the whole country down with your total greed for your own pockets.

Feel cheated!

Unaware that there's apparently a double lotto ? I placed my usual favourite numbers and a lucky dip
It repeats the numbers on the line below and the charge is £8 !
So £2 for every line instead of £4
I have quiered this several times with customer service.
I spoke yesterday to an advisor who advised me about thisnew " double lotto " they informed me,there are now separate draw games it apparently, increases your chances of winning although. It will definitely be a lower value win ...
Unfortunately I've decided not to play this anymore I feel the national lottery haven't been tansparent on this .
NB: to national lottery response no just one day

Hi, thank you for leaving us your feedback on Trustpilot.
Sorry to hear about your experience. It still costs £2 per line which gives you 2 chances of winning.
It sounds like you have both draw dates selected. You can amend this: On the 'Choose when to Play' option screen, before purchasing, you can untick which draw date you do not want.
I hope that helps. ^Jack

Profits over player satisfaction

Profits over player satisfaction! Recent changes haven't improved customer satisfaction it's done the opposite. Have played since the beginning I'm now reflecting whether the 'you've won a small prize" is actually worth it! Who thought of the change....not great marketing!

I have always done the lottery

I have always done the lottery. It's just a bit of fun. I do it just once a week now £4 on the power ball on a Saturday. I've reckoned with average luck, I should get around half my money back on a year's gamble. At the end of the day, it is just entertainment, thinking what you would do with the money !

Exceptionally poor customer service.

Exceptionally poor customer service.

I logged a complaint with National Lottery on 7 July relating to an issue I was having updating my account details. I received a response stating that the issue had been passed to the relevant department for review. I have heard absolutely nothing since despite me having sent several follow up emails asking for an update.

I assume that the volume of complaints they receive must be unmanageable, or maybe it’s simply that they just couldn’t care less.

Unfortunately

Unfortunately, you have to give at least one star.

In my opinion, people need to take a much closer look at how the UK National Lottery is now operated, where the money goes and how much actually comes back to ordinary players and good causes.

I’ve completely lost faith in it. What was sold to the public as something that would benefit the country now feels increasingly like another system designed to take money from people while generating huge revenues.

I think there needs to be far greater transparency and public scrutiny around the operator, the profits, the government’s involvement and exactly where all the money ends up.

Personally, I think it’s a con and I won’t be playing it again.

What is the point of winning £1

What is the point of winning £1 on the Lotto, it doesn’t even buy you another ticket…remove the two draw option and put back the lucky dip win. I know new companies want to make a thing their own but this is not working for you. Along with others, I am reducing my spend as it isn’t working for me anymore.

Hi Karen, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.
The updated Lotto game offers 2 opportunities to win £1M+ prizes in every draw. To make that possible, some lower tier prizes are smaller. However, players can now win more often and can win more than once in a single night. Over a year, regular players are expected to see a net increase in prize money for the same ticket price ^Jack

Why can’t the lotto organisers see…

Why can’t the lotto organisers see that the new changes are not popular. I really don’t care about getting two draws from £2. Just make it 2 draws for £1 each and let the purchaser decide if they want to risk £1 to likely win £1 if they manage to win anything. Winning £1 on a £2 play is not a win. The payback given to those on a rollover is now pathetic compared to what it was. Someone in charge should be able to see that this was not a good idea.
