Hi Derek, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

The updated Lotto game now gives players 2 chances to win prizes of £1 million or more in every draw. This has meant reducing some of the lower-tier prizes. Since these changes were introduced, Lotto has created 70 new millionaires.

How to ruin a business in one easy…

How to ruin a business in one easy lesson. Prior to the changes to the National Lottery in June - a spokesman for 'Allwyn' stated: “We’re forecasting that the new Lotto format will generate millions of pounds more in sales of the game in a typical week". I wonder if Allwyn can now confirm that sales have indeed increased dramatically since they drastically changed the prize structure? I actually suspect it's very much the opposite. Why the now very much obviously lower amounts to weekly jackpots? Well, how else are they able to fund their contractual obligations to so-called 'good causes'. These changes have been a complete failure - for players that is. As for 'scratch cards' - you would be as well giving your money directly to charity or throw your cash away in the street. There's been a massive drop off in scratch card prize wins. Everybody can see that. The National Lottery now urgently needs a complete change. Or it will continue to fail in all of its objectives.

Prize notification emails for very small wins

I play the National Lottery regularly and find its current prize notification emails increasingly irritating.

The email simply says that I have “won a prize”, requiring me to log into my account to discover what I have won. Repeatedly, the “prize” turns out to be £1.

There is no obvious reason why the amount cannot simply be stated in the email. Other lottery operators manage to do this perfectly well. At the very least, a £1 win could be described as a “small prize”.

Instead, the current wording gives the impression that these emails are being used as an engagement device to encourage customers to return to the website and log in, even when the amount won is trivial.

I have complained directly to the National Lottery about this. I am also clearly not alone, as many other customers have raised exactly the same issue.

If I have won £1, just tell me I have won £1. Don’t make me log in to find out.

Hi Maurice, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

Your feedback has been noted, however, I'm afraid it's part of our licensing agreement with the Gambling Commission that all winning emails are the same, no matter the size of the win.

Where the prizes are worth less than the tickets

This has really gone downhill. Firstly there's the £1 'prize' instead of a free ticket, which as everybody points out is a joke (and must be a real admin burden). And then I recently tried to log-in and found that the button was greyed out. The only way to find out what's going on is to ring them, which I did, only to run into an automatic system which required me to state my postcode. However, there must be something wrong with my voice, because the system absolutely refused to recognise the postcode I gave! So I have no way to get into my account. Is this a devious way to stop me cancelling it?

Edit: I did try the suggestion of using the chat function, and as expected it was just a bot (not even Artificial Intelligence, just Real Stupidity) that would only have been useful if I had a generic 'forgot my password' problem. So no thanks to Allwyn there, either.

In the end, I tried changing my password, and that got me in. Why, I'm not sure...

Are there any better lotteries out there? Preferably ones where the minimum prize is at least worth as much as it costs to enter.

Dreadful since it was taken over. Just tried to check set for life should’ve been drawn at 8pm now 8.48 still no results. Should be taken off them and given to a company who can run it fairly and correctly.

I have just won £1 Hooray! Why on earth have Alwyn changed this from a free go? I have just been reading the reviews here and it seems they keep giving out the same robotic answer. It’s simple for me I’m out. I will delete the app and walk away.

Plea from the heart!

I stopped playing Lotto on June 7th when the new format came into force. Last night for some unknown reason I thought I’d give it a go. I wagered £10 and ‘won’ £1.
Like millions of others I was disappointed but I knew the odds were massively against me.
We know that Allwyn are losing a colossal amount of money as a result of their decision to change the Lotto format so I’m not trying to give them advice as such, let’s face it there are enough people trying to do that already!
This is a simple request on behalf myself and, I’m sure, millions of others.
Christmas is only 3 months away. How about you forget about the usual special draws etc. and give the British public what they really want. Swallow your stubborn pride, admit that the changes that you made in the summer have not worked and are going to continue to hurt everyone including yourselves, us ‘punters’ and, most importantly, the charities who depend so desperately on you.
Revert to the old format in the New Year and return to the ‘win win’ for all involved instead of continuing blindly down the ‘lose lose’ road.

Lottery has gone down the pan

The new lottery is just awful. I won a £1 the other week, that's an insult. At least you got a free go with 2 numbers under Camelot. Obviously no one is taking onboard what the people are saying!

Shambles

I've never spoke to a single person who thinks this format is an improvement on the last. You need at least 5 numbers for a return that's only half decent. If your in a syndicate that reduces it even more.
We have until October then we're calling it a day. We're moving to multiple irish lottery tickets, especially now they have the bonus ball boost. Also i wonder how much the lottery is raking in from people who dont bother collecting the pound prize. Will they listen to the customer, no chance. What a shambles.

Let’s get one thing straight.

Let’s get one thing straight.
If it costs £2 to enter and you “win” £1 you haven’t won anything! You’ve lost £1!!

Hi Shaun, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

Players can now win more often and can win more than once in a single night. Over a year, regular players are expected to see a net increase in prize money for the same ticket price.

The prize for matching two main numbers in a single round will now be £1 cash prize, which will give players more flexibility and choice in how to spend their win. Players can win this 'Match 2' prize – and any other prize for that matter – twice on one single £2 Lotto line.

Why can't I vote zero stars

I only set up a direct debit to play while I was on holiday. Cancelled when I came back, but these scammers have taken more money and started buying tickets again!

Beware this company. Can't be trusted.

I spoke to them before I wrote this review.

I wish I could give a zero score

I wish I could give a zero score, we all know that all-lose have absolutely no interest in what the customers say, they cannot accept that they have made a huge mistake with their idea of what the players want, you just have to read their pathetic responses to people's complaints, oh you have won £1.00 but you have 2 chances of winning, its hard enough to win once never mind twice, they are taking the public to the cleaners, sales are down by 14% and still falling, charitable donations are down millions of pounds and yet they do nothing, change the lottery back to what it was before or hand it back to Camelot to run because all-lose you have no idea what you are doing, go now before the government act and kick you out.

Bring back Camelot!!

A few days ago, I noticed my address was incorrect. So I went to change it, it asked for my password, then said it was incorrect. I attempted a password reset, but fid not receive any email with link.
Today, I rang customer services. Eventually managed to talk to a real person, instead of pressing 1 or 2. She was lovely. Helped me reset everything. I still couldn't edit my address, so she offered to do it for me. I was able to sign in.
However, due to issues, I had bought a physical ticket for tonight's game. So I don't do anything on the app.
Just tried to log in, using the new password I had set whilst on the phone to Customer Services lady... and it's saying my password is incorrect.
Eff thing shyte. I hadn't realised Camelot was no longer running it. SHAME.

Hi Rebecca, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having some trouble. It sounds like your device may be auto filling an incorrect or old password. I'd recommend navigating to your saved passwords in your settings and verifying it is using the correct one, then copy and pasting from there. If that hasn't worked, then please try resetting your password or please give us a call on 0333 234 44 33, where an agent can look into this for you.

Hi Richard, thanks for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

With the updated Lotto game, every £2 entry now gives you two chances to win in the same draw, including two chances to win £1M or more. While some of the lower-tier prizes have been reduced, in the first 100 days of New Lotto we have made 69 millionaires!
