Terrible online banking experience - repeatedly failing to verify my identity, spent almost an hour on chat only to be told I need to phone them up!

The worst bank in terms of customer service I have ever dealt with. I asked for an account to be switched from the flexplus account, which costs £18 a month, to the flexdirect, which is £2 a month. I have evidence of this as it was via the chat function in the app. I've asked for a refund as was wrongfully charged, but Nationwide are trying to say this is not their issue, despite me asking for it to be changed. The chat function available to customers is not instant, very slow, and poor communication with overseas agents. I ended up having to call themWhen I explained the complaint, they spoke over me, were sighing when I explained what had happened. I had to contiuously close and re-open the app on the phone. The fact I have evidence of the conversation of me asking to change the account and they still argued that they wouldn't refund me feels like a scam. I have raised a complaint, and will take this further if needed.
Your useless app wouldn't let me print a current mortgage statement app, neither would your employee at the branch. Gave me a phone number to talk to an automated service which did not provide solution either.

Went with my son who lives in Prague, helpful staff re his business and mine, but less accessibility to Bangor branch from train or bus station than the Belfast branch, the Bangor one involves crossing at a difficult junction. I've complained to our council, but nothing gets changed. Thanks, Norah

Good branch in Strood. Ladies are always helpful. Busy, so sometimes a queue

A bit frustrating that at branch, seemingly simple problems can’t be resolved without asking one to use their banking app - on which it wasn’t obvious for me to get a new debit card and in frustration, I had to call on number given on my debit card. All took time.

Seen straight away greeted with a smile impressed with the security questions my new card updated quickly

I applied for a Nationwide credit card with a £1,000 limit and was declined, even though the branch manager helped me complete the application. I then applied - using the same ratings/information etc - to Barlaycard and was offered a credit card with a £4,000 limit. I have been a ''valued'' Nationwide customer for years, I had not had any involvement prior with Barclaycard or Barclays. Odd.

When so many companies have closed their branches, it's great that Nationwide still has contact with customers....long may it last.

Despite numerus phone calls and promises my81 year old brother in law has been waiting 8 weeks for his bank card. Every week he has had to rely on family to feed him. It is totally unacceptable. He was offered €25 compensation but has no card to get it ! Totally frustrated and angry is an understatement.

Aweful prehistoric bank (building Society) Who in this day and age customers have to shout personal details down a phone to pass DPA. This should all be done securly and not done via voice! Imagine if you had an emergancy with your account and in a busy place you had to start saying all your banking details out loud! The phone system is full of AI robot menu options. This is a dated bank in an old school IT world. Shame on you!
