Cabinetry and furniture program

Like most everyone that applies to NBSS, they do so based on the reputation of the school. My situation was no different, I was beyond excited to start my journey there in the Cabinet and Furniture making program. I quickly learned how far out of line the program was to how it was described it would be. Here’s a small list of many reasons:

- A huge lack of instructors. The instructors there are an extremely talented and knowledgeable group, but are extremely understaffed and unsupported by the school’s administration. On any given day there are over 40 CFM students with realistically only two instructors to help them all. Not a good ratio for learning an extremely complicated trade.

- There’s a shortage of equipment to service the amount of students in the program, there have been wait times of up to 90 minutes to use specific machinery.
