I am afraid that I had a very bad experience with the NCT Shop.

MY ORDER

I ordered two items and paid extra for these to be delivered next day; only one of the two items was delivered next day and this was broken. The remaining item was delivered 14 days later.

Despite many calls and emails over six weeks, the NCT shop has been unable to provide a refund for the broken item or their failure to deliver all of the items next day. A highlight of the various unsuccessful email exchanges include:

"What has happened now is that customer shop enquiries has now been given back to the Glasgow warehouse contact us team and no longer at Bristol, this is why your order has not been cancelled down for the refills it has been between Glasgow and Bristol turnaround this has not been sorted out properly ."

As you can see, they don't know seem to have a proper grasp of what they are doing.

My order was only for £30 and it seems that I'm simply going to have to write the money off.

CONCLUSION

Just like gambling, decide how much you can afford to lose before you go to play with the NCT Shop.

We are expecting our first baby and we did lots of research into baby monitors, and decided on the Angelcare Montior and Sensor Mat. The usual RRP is £89.99, but NCT had a great sale and we managed to buy it for £65, which was a huge saving. It arrived quickly, and we were very impressed. We haven't used it yet, but are very pleased and would highly recommend the NCT Shop.

Once I had decided which nappies I wanted to buy (after testing a few) I went in search of the best price. NCT Shop was by far the most competitively priced, but not only that, the customer service was excellent the speed of delivery was fantastic, the product as described and website very easy to use. If only every company in this country was as keen to provide such a brilliant service. Will be shopping with NCT again.

I recently bought PJ's from the NCT shop and can not fault either the service or product. My PJ's are lovely and soft, comfortable and will be useful now during pregnancy and after for breast feeding and beyond. The PJ bottoms fit under the bump and you tie to suit so I can imagine using these for many years. I would recommend both the NCT shop and PJs.

I recently ordered a birthing ball from the NCT shop. I'd left it rather late but wanted to use it in my antenatal class a couple of days later. To my surprise it arrived first thing in the morning on the very next day! Excellent service and the product itself is of very high quality. I will definitely be buying from the NCT shop again.

The shop is a very useful resource as it features everything you need but I do find it quite expensive compared to other retailers. Accessing member discounts is also fiddly. It would be easier just to enter or quote your membership number to earn discounts online.

I ordered a couple of items for a pregnant friend and they arrived quickly and were very high quality. She was very pleased and so was I.

As a member of the NCT I knew they had a shop to buy bits and pieces for my new baby. What I didn't realise though was how much testing and rigorous reviewing they did for their range. Their products are really well thought out and they actually seem to be helping me as a parent find products that will make my life easier and not just sell me stuff for the sake of it.

I bought a Bednest (bedside cot) which was a godsend. My baby was always close to me and I could settle her back to sleep really easily without getting out of bed. When she woke in the night I just pulled her into bed with me, fed her and then popped her back into cot. Neither of us really woke up properly - it was great.

I've also bought breastfeeding bras and the customer service team were excellent in helping ensure I got the right size. They talked me through measuring myself and I ended up with three bras that I lived in.

Delivery was next day too - and I hadn't even paid for express delivery so I was REALLY impressed. They seem to understand that new mums don't have much time, sometimes take a while to make a decision (!) and can be a bit emotional and I felt really looked after. Thank you!!

I'm currently 5 months pregnant and have purchased quite a few things from the NCT. Their service has been great and I love the range of products they stock. Its also nice knowing that you are helping a charity so close to mums as opposed to one of these large multinationals.

A great company with a great ethos for a great cause! I would highly recommend them.

This is great - you buy stuff you need for your baby and the nct charity gets all the profits which go back to supporting parents like me. I love the concept!

Lovely products and great service too - delivery was really quick. I've bought loads of stuff for myself and for other people form this site and always recommend it to friends. Some people think it's expensive but I've found some really great bargains on here - cheaper than Amazon and Kiddicare.
