Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great home care provider with one bad apple.

This company was contracted by the NHS to supply end of life care for my mother in may 2025.
I had no experience of carers to this point so I had no expectations but I was beyond impressed. I have to give a particular mention to "Helen" who made each visit a joy and engaged mum in interesting conversation as well as providing the needed care expertly and also keeping her dignity. Whilst I mention Helen I must also say that all of the carers bar one were very good. so what about the one? .
It was a few weeks into the care visits when she arrived, sat on a chair while the other lady worked and asked me when the hospital bed was going to arrive, I informed her that mum had expressly said that she didn't want one and I thought that would be the end of the conversation but how wrong I was. with extreme indignance this person started arguing with me about the benefits ( to them) of having one, saying "what about us, we have to lift her up the bed and if the bed was higher and not a double we wouldn't have to climb across it."
I was surprised at her level of agitation and had I have been less caring of my mother I may have felt I had to give in. It felt almost like bullying.
That afternoon I was contacted by the NHS department that arranges carers to say that network had cancelled the arrangement and new carers would be starting that evening.
I was astounded that one belligerent and apparently lazy worker could weal this much power but no doubt Network received a barrage of threats about claims for falling of my mums double bed or back probelms. who knows?.
A big thank you despite this to the excellent care from the others and I hope Network find a way to sack that woman promptly.
