Stressful and expensive

Working with Newstead and Walker took considerable effort and patience, but got there in the end. I sought their services for a shop lease. Any questions I sent my solicitor at Newstead and Walker typically take about 2 weeks to answer if I follow up my email a few times to remind them. They are not contactable by phone in my experience, but did return a call once (I was in considerable stress by this time). Most documentation needs to all be mailed back and forth, no modernisation. When I did receive answers to any questions over email, they were polite and thorough, and matched up to the advice I had received elsewhere (I had to seek outside advice at my own cost due to the time taken by Newstead and Walker).

I challenged the fee due to the considerable stress it caused, and despite following up, I did not receive any response for over 10 months. When I eventually had a response, they simply asked again for the money. After many attempts trying to reason with them, they did agree to a 20% discount on the fees (a year had passed at this point). The resulting fee was still higher than most others.

I have not used them again.

Disappointing & Upsetting

I had a very important legal healthcare document (Advance Decision) signed & witnessed by Newstead Walker in Otley. The actual process was fine and carried out as agreed, for an agreed, reasonable fixed price.

However, my very sensitive personal and confidential information was shared like a bag of sweets - with authorities, public services and a vast amount of other people and organisations.

I approached them to see if they would be able to carry out some more work for me - a simple administrative task, as instructed by His Majesty's Passport Office. This was verifying my identity for a Second Passport application. I provided a full, detailed brief by email.

I received a delayed response stating that they were unable to carry out the work. I have heard that they have defamed me through words (Slander) and have referred to me as a "Schizophrenic", when they are fully aware that my mental health is not in question.

I won't be giving them any more business and I would advise that you don't either - if you valuable your Privacy & Dignity.
