Do not recommend for small business
We engaged News Xtend to provide digital marketing services for our Indian restaurant and, unfortunately, the experience did not live up to what was promised.
We invested around $1,600 for a month and were given very specific projections around clicks, conversions and expected orders. In reality, the results fell well short of those projections. Looking back at the campaign, the ads themselves were fairly generic and didn't effectively highlight the unique selling points of our business. Much of what was done, such as running Facebook and Instagram ads, was something we could have managed ourselves.
Throughout the campaign, we felt the strategy remained largely the same despite the challenging trading environment. Looking back, it didn't seem to account for changing customer spending habits or the tougher conditions many restaurants were facing.
After moving to a smaller boutique agency that specialises in restaurants, the difference was immediately noticeable. They explained how the market had changed, how customer behaviour had shifted, and why our marketing needed to adapt. They developed a strategy that highlighted our unique selling points and was tailored to the current economic climate. The results have been significantly better, despite costing a fraction of what we paid previously.
Based on our experience, News Xtend may be better suited to larger businesses with substantial marketing budgets. However, if you're a small restaurant or takeaway, I'd strongly recommend finding an agency that specialises in hospitality. A tailored strategy and genuine understanding of the industry made a far greater difference for us than a generic campaign ever did.
