Atrocisious I want my money back so I can go private
Every area of their existence is peppered with false notions and sub standard practices better suited to a medival society.
The only thing they use their ill gotten public funds to run 24 is an out of hours call centre . That in most cases is designed to tell you that you are out of hours by some script bound jobsworth . Who will not pass a person on to a proper professional in most cases and even when you get to speak to a pshychateric nurse on a rare ocassion that person behaves in an unethical and devuling way their main remit in my opinion is to be combative and abusive so that . I react in a similar manner , But obviously I'm playing with a stacked deck and they get to call green blue and end it like that .
NHS what does that even stand for ? I called up 111 my mental health was at boiling point , however I recalled from past experiences even when a person is over the edge . All that NHS 24. snot do is tell you to go back to the same GP who has just said they can not offer any help. At least in England , people are allowed to refer themselves for talking therpies. In Scotland where a sizable previlged minority of narcesistis work for the helth service in order to line their own pockets . While others suffer economically . The GP has to control everything even a person right to get better help . Unless that person is on a high income and can take a punt on the private sector . But even when we do that we don't get a rebate from NHS24.Snot and they won't even honour any prescription's that get written in such situations .
Yesterday I was offered a choice of 8 languages such as Romanian , Spanish Mandarain , It calls itself nh24 . scot but they don't offer a line for Gaelic speakers ?
I think this last paragraph sums up the contempt that the people who run this non service into the ground have for the majority of Scottish people . They make silly spending decesions use funds for their own frivilious ego trips . Negelegt basic health care and serving their own country and it's rate payers.
Backed up by the shamnationlists . To carry on and get worse day to day . With their computer say's no nonsense and unprofessional call centres in the west of Scotland . With operators who would probably be deemed too unprofessional to get a job on a club 18 -hotline .( I could not understand the girls thick- as in thick being the operative word Glasgow patter. But I could gather that there was a lack of empathy and compassion and as I state I have got nowhere fast with NHS111 apart from a data grab from their side . So on this non ocasion I put the phone down and dealt with my issues in silence while nhs employees contintue with some of the best employment terms in the modern world . All undeserved and the eptimoe of failure being a winner for some profiterring off the hard labour and low pay of others like msyself who work in warehouses and don't get hoildiay pay but a lot more stress then an NHS worker will ever know about .
Excellent Service Quality Stall
I attended A&E at Hairmyers with a suspected broken arm. After a few minutes I was taken for Xrays where it was diagnosed as a Spiral fracture of the Humreus. I was transferred to UHW and was dealt with immediately on arrival. I was placed in plasterers until surgery then released 6 days later. The quality and level of service in both hospitals was excellent. The staff from auxiliary to consultants was so caring. Now I'm attending the Fracture Clinic where the service is once again exceptional. The NHS get poor press and although I'm 70 this is my first time as a patient and I just want to thank everyone involved in my care and aftercare. Well done and keep up.the excellent work.
Thank you
Martin
Zero trust
I have never encountered such disarray in my healthcare experiences. As a patient in small local practices in Scotland, I've faced a troubling environment where doctors seem more interested in gossiping about patients, protecting each other when something goes wrong and filling patients medical records with lies than in taking responsibility for their shortcomings. This pack mentality often leads to stigma, which negatively impacts patient care.
I would advise caution when considering integration into the "mental health team," as they may perpetuate these same issues and potentially worsen your health, as happened to me. It's alarming how medications are prescribed without proper discussion of side effects, such as prolonged loss of taste and smell, or the challenges of withdrawal. I was assured that there are no withdrawal symptoms for the medication I was on, but the reality is quite different, making it a severe struggle to taper off the medication while still experiencing horrible side effects a year after discontinuation.
It often feels like the priority is to keep patients reliant on medications rather than focusing on their recovery. My attempts to engage in meaningful conversations about my well-being were largely ignored.
However, since taking control of my health, I have experienced substantial improvements. This journey has reinforced the importance of being proactive in managing my well-being.
NHS Scotland is in total collapse
NHS Scotland is in total collapse, Doctors and Consultants are doing a lot of private work for those that can pay. The NHS gets £3500.00 per year for every person in Scotland, and people are sitting for years on NHS waiting lists suffering pain and discomfort, many are not able to work because of health problems and require treatment, If every person in Scotland got that £3500.00 a year into a private Bank Account that could only be use for medical care then they could go to England, Germany etc and pay for treatment, But the NHS is just stealing that £3500.00 per year they get to treat them and they are left suffering for year, THIS IS JUST A MASSIVE FRAUD BEING PERPETRATED ON THEM. A person I know waited over 10 years in pain for a Hip Operation, during that 10 years they had £35,000 paid to the NHS to look after them, and for the last 40 years they had thousands of pounds paid to the NHS to look after them but got nothing, people are dying waiting for operations that they never got, while the money paid to the NHS to look after them just disappeared into Doctors, Consultants, Managers and CEOs Bank Accounts, one of the Biggest Frauds on the ordinary people in Scotland. Trustpilot will deactivate this true and factual comment.
Excellent service
Excellent service. Filling fell out and left with pain and extreme sensitivity. Fantastic service on the phone, efficient and caring. Suggested a 3 hour wait do a call back from a dental nurse but took just 1.5 hours. Impressive considering it was a Saturday night. Told that I would wait an additional hour for the booking team to organise an emergency dentist. Took just 2 minutes. Attended emergency dentist appointment today and all sorted. I unfortunately had the same thing happen in October and received the same exceptional service. We are lucky to have the NHS.
Thinking of Phoning NHS 24 ?
There are some things you should know
1) NHS 24 have no legal requirement to provide a seriously ill patient with a professional clinical and care assessment or to give any care advice.
2) NHS 24 is under no legal obligation to provide "safe care" or "clear and open communication".
These entitlements are routinely ignored.
3) Call handlers are non-medics and read computer scripts.
4) Everybody, no matter their condition, are in the same queue and there may be a "bottleneck" causing long waiting times.
This should be a cause for concern for those patients who think they might need A@E.
5) Telephone triage is non-visual .
A caller should start the call by describing anything unusual about the appearance of the condition.
6) There may be "no nurse available" for the "Safety net" of Clinical Supervision or to give advice.
Don't allow a call handler to self-appoint as your representative. Insist on getting a nurse.
7) NHS 24 suffers from systemic failures .(telephone triage is not safe/inappropriate and insufficient staffing/work overload/disregard of duty of care and clear and open communication/no monitoring)
8) Call handlers are being allowed to request a "blue-light " ambulance without being given clinical guidance.
Expect " Cowboy Care" and amateurish incompetence.
There is no accountability for care failure.
If you are "Out Of Hours" and have a condition which you think might possibly be serious then do not phone NHS 24 for advice or an appointment at A@E.
Try and self-present at A@E and do the four hour wait.
If you can't manage that then phone 999.
Be advised.
Hope you survive.
Set up to deny help
Called 111, message said to call Chalmers dental. Called the Chalmers dental and message said to call 111. Abscess burst in my mouth, dentist closed until the 5th and NHS 24 site and phone lines set up to deter people from getting help unless they press a million buttons to try get through to the right person. This set up is not for for purpose, you listen to very long messages that in fact don’t give any relevant info, this info it does give is misleading, by design. Ended up having to go to my doctors to speak to a professional which was denied by design on this useless site. GP surgery put under pressure to help me because NHS 24 would rather put pressure on other services than assist in curing the tax payer.
Inhumane
I phoned nhs24 mental health advisors,as i self harmed and I spoke to a supervisor who told me to talk to people who have constantly gave me no help and she just hung up
Absolutely awful. Don't use if you value life
I wondered whether the blood in my vomitus and stools were worth worrying about. All this did was ask me questions, then reset back to the opening web page to start again. This happened 3 times. Call 999 rather than risk your life with the Scottish government website.
Very impressed
I had reason to call NHS 24 for my 5 year old daughter while back home in Fife visiting family. I was in a bit of a panic as we are no longer registered with a local GP and my daughter was getting worse.
Despite a bit of a wait to get through to someone, the service I received was faultless. Both the call handler and clinician I spoke to were wonderful. They were both professional, empathetic and knowledgeable. Later that evening my daughter had an appointment at the out of hours GP service and treated promptly by Dr Philippa. I was very impressed by the service we received and can’t thank NHS 24 enough for looking after my daughter.
I just want to say a massive thank you…
I just want to say a massive thank you to NHS 24 Scot call handlers and medical staff. I had to call them yesterday (Sun 28th Sept), and within 4 hours, thanks to them, I had an appointment with a lovely Dr Omosule at D&G Royal Infirmary. I think this was outstanding service, especially on a Sunday morning and I shall be singing your praises to everyone. Thank you so much, Patricia Philips.
Thank you NHS 24
Big thank you to the lady who took my call this morning and to the Nurse I spoke with. I think their names are Julia and Catherine. Both very helpful and professional. They checked I was ok when they had to put me on hold and referred me on to the out of hours GP service. Was given an appointment to a nearby hospital within a couple of hours and again was seen by a very helpful and professional Doctor. I think it’s good to thank these people who work hard to help despite being under increasing pressure. My sincere thanks to all of you.

Alford Ambulance Service.
Alford Ambulance Service.
The three guy crew of this ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, on Tuesday evening were very kind and helpful and despite things being a bit traumatic for me I was treated with a lot more consideration than I was at the hospital, where I was barely treated as human

Gaslighted well done to a stereotype nurse call handler.
Talking to people like nite nite go to your GP.
Yeah I will after the dentist emergency.
When is generational curse gonna leave humanity not valued or s f all.
No wonder people are running to private care had enough of it!
They are some amazing great call handlers sadly it's letting the great ones down due to unhealthy ones.
It's ridiculous why do we even have a national health system out of hours. If nobody is aloud to use it say the woman who said to me! Refusing me a call back of a GP.
Appalling wait time for call answering
Trying to do the right thing by calling NHS24 first before fronting up to hospital. However, with a 96 MINUTE WAIT time for call to be initially answered forget it. Will just present myself to hospital and join queue there.

Waited 10 hours and more for my daughter to be reviewed by doctor or nurse practitioner for a prescription of antibiotic. NHS 24 Lanarkshire is absolutely shambolic . Totally disgusted . I myself am a nurse but unable to prescribe her an antibiotic. NHS appears to be on its knees. Doesn’t seem to be anyone within NHS that can prescribe. Also wait 2 hours on telephone for someone to answer
Have a niece who is a charge nurse in A& E . Her mother waited 20 minutes to be seen by
Consultant . In that time her mother had a CT scan . Absolutely raging that this can be done and yet my daughter has to wait more than 10 hours for an antibiotic
