On February 1, 2024, I placed several calls to 911, for a sexual assault case.
It took them over an hour to respond. When they finally showed up, one of the two Police Officers was clearly ill-equipped to handle such a call. He was rude, unprofessional & unable to satisfactorily perform his duties.
In the following days, I attempted on multiple occasions to contact that same Police Officer in an effort to submit relevant video surveillance footage. He did not respond to my voice messages.
I then filed a complaint with OIPRD. It wasn't until then, I received a callback from another Police Officer, from their Sexual Assault division. After a couple of phone conversations & several email exchanges with her, I was able to submit said video surveillance footage.
Why was a Police Officer, (clearly) with inadequate training assigned to a 911 call? Why did he not respond to my voice messages? Why did it take me having to file a formal complaint with OIPRD, before I received a callback? Why did I have to file a formal complaint with OIPRD, before I was able to submit my video surveillance footage?
The Niagara Regional Police failed to perform their duties. Fortunately, everything is documented & the investigation is ongoing. I am confident that the Police Officer who was unable to perform, will walk away unscathed from this incident.
The actions of Niagara Regional Police have left my family & I feeling extremely vulnerable & unsafe. They failed to perform their duties. And now, I have to wait for the Police to investigate the Police. I'm sure there's no bias there.
I am currently studying for my firearms license, as I have lost all faith in Niagara Regional Police. I'll take my chances in a court of Law if necessary, before I put my trust in the Police.
In November 2023, a white male (as captured/recorded on my video surveillance system), walked onto my driveway & slashed all the tires on both of my cars. Niagara Regional Police didn't even send out an Officer to investigate. They simply put it in their files.
Protect yourselves, because the Police will protect you, the same way they protected me.
