DO NOT RENT from this company!

DO NOT RENT ! The Malaga Airport depot are SCAMMERS. They will threaten and scare you until you buy their insurance.

I bought AXA insurance and the they spent a long time explaining to me that the extra and all covering AXA Insurance bought through Holiday Autos when I booked is useless and if I didnt take theirs then every single tiny thing noticed would cost me 400Euros, and it is for me to claim it & try to get my money back.

On my return I saw the same routine played out by a French Family there to pick up a car and I heard the same well rehearsed threats.!

PLEASE do not rent from this terrible company unless you like to start off your holiday with an expensive argument and threats and a €161 cost you thought you were already covered for!

Avoid, avoid. Don't use Niza Cars

I wish that I'd read these reviews before I used this company.
I can confirm the fictional scratches that they find, the scaremongering into their insurance, the debit of the £1540 security deposit (who knows when that will come back), and the time wasting on return so that you give up because you're afraid you'll miss your flight.
Add to that I felt they were scammers, rude, intimidating and just unacceptable.
We didn't even get the car we had booked!
A horrible experience to end the holiday.
Never again.

Worst rental experience in 30 years

Worst rental experience in 30 years. Nasty, dishonest company. If you do not take their insurance they charge a over 300 euros for non existent scratches and tell you it's because you booked through a broker

NEVER AGAIN

Rented from them 2 times, never again.
First time everything went well (we had the full coverage insurance on both occasions). Our car was even broken into and they changed a new car for us with absolutely no problem.

BUT the second time though…
We were dumb enough to trust the company since the first time went well, unfortunately.
Therefore, this time we did NOT take photos & a video of the car upon receival, unfortunately.

We returned the car normally after a week and when we got to the airport, I got a phone call from Nizacars office. They told me that there is a tray missing from the boot of the car.
As I was ABSOLUTELY sure that there was no tray in the boot when we got the car, I told them that they must be mistaken and asked for a photo of the ”missing tray”.
A few moments later I get an email from Nizacars office of a Renault Arkana boot with no ”tray” and a part of the boot circled in red as to show where there is supposed to be a tray I guess? The message said that the photo was taken before handing over the car to us and there was absolutely no ”tray” in the boot. In the email had been stated that they are going to charge me for it and if I had any complaints, they would not discuss the matter further and instead I should contact some other line of theirs.
At first the payment was 380€, and after I told them that this is clearly a scam the price dropped to 180€.

We’ve spent over a 1000€ in renting cars from nizacars but I can guarantee you that this was the LAST time.

Malaga airport branch- avoid, scammers

Malaga airport branch. Absolute scammers. On returning the car they went over it in forensic detail and pointed out ‘new scratches’ - that were actually there when we picked the car up. Luckily my partner had videoed the car on picking it up so we had evidence the scratches were already there. They contained to try to argue and still - one week later- have not sent the final receipt so I’ve no idea whether they are going to take any money off our card. Will never use them again.

Shockingly rude and aggressive: terrible experience

This is by far my worst experience with car rental so far. Looking back, it is almost funny, but it was no fun to be put in the situation when it happened:
The Nizacars rental office is not situated directly at the terminal in Málaga airport, so one needs to find a shuttle bus to get there. Not very well indicated, but I managed after a little searching.
I had prebooked and paid a car for 4 days, including an Axa insurance, and was told explicitly in the email confirmation that this would cover everything and that no extra fees would need to paid at the desk. Nonetheless, when it came to insurance, the lady at the desk told me: "I'll explain you how this works. Either we block 1650 EUR on your credit card, and you get it back if return the car in good state. Or you pay us 100 EUR, and then we do not block anything". I argued quietly that this was not what was agreed on, but was told that then I would not get a car for rental. I reluctantly let the lady block 1650 EUR to move on. She then handed my an empty white screen and told me to sign. I told her that I needed to know what I was signing, to which she answered that I was a problematic customer. When I said that it was normal to know what I was signing, she scrolled on her own screen at rate of several pages per second through what I was signing, expecting me to then sign. When I then said that I would like to see it, she said: "That is enough. You cannot get the car." She then went to instruct the driver of the shuttle bus not to drive me back to the airport because I was a "problematic customer". At no point did I raise my voice, nor did I use unpleasant words.

I cannot recommend strongly enough to stay away from Nizacars Málaga.

Shocking

Shocking! Absolutely awful experience. I will never ever use this company again. Aggressively upselling insurance cover despite full coverage already purchased through the broker. Then the fear and anxiety on return, expecting confrontation. They are scam artists. Avoid at all costs!!!

NIZA Cars and Holiday Autos - Shocking AVOID at all costs

Following first-hand experience, I highly recommend you avoid both Holiday Autos the broker and NIZA Cars the actual car hire company.

We had an absolute shocking experience at Malaga in April 2023. The car hire company we used via Holiday Auto's was NIZA Cars, their customer service was appalling. Despite purchasing additional upgraded insurance from Zurich via Holiday Auto's, NIZA Cars said it was rubbish and I needed to purchase another one from them. If I refused, they threatened me with a list of repair costs that I could be hit with, which were extortionate. They also operate a ‘full-empty’ fuel policy which is the reverse of all other reputable car higher companies who operate a ‘full-full’ fuel policy. NIZA Cars give you a car full of fuel and tell you to bring it back empty. Before taking the car away you have to pay for the fuel in the tank at their rate, upon returning the car it must be empty but they then charge you for putting the fuel back in the tank, unbelievable.

This all happened at 22:30, but I was not prepared to take the risk of being stitched up for previous accident damage, upon returning the car. We got a Taxi back to the airport and booked a new car from SIXT, a reputable hire car company, who provided a great experience with no issues. Looking at other reviews regarding NIZA Cars and the charges they are making people pay for previous damage upon the car return, I am so glad I walked away and went to another reputable car hire company.

Upon returning to the UK, I put a complaint into Holiday Autos with the objective of getting my money back. Despite providing them with every piece of evidence they required over multiple emails, they said I was at fault for refusing to accept the car, they classed this as a no show.

My recommendation is to avoid Holiday Autos and certainly do not use NIZA Cars Malaga, they are scam artists. Go direct using a reputable car hire company such as SIXT. In this life you get what you pay for and watch out for the scam & rogue traders.

DONT EVER USE THEM

DONT EVER USE THEM:

They ask you to sing an agrement without showing the contract.

They force you to take insurance you dont need, alternative they charge you a very high deposit, that you for sure will never get back as they will always find a scratch.

They are in general very rude.

They take huge advantage of you being tired after flying, they sit with you away from the airport, so if you deside not to rent, you cant go anywhere else, which they know.

This is the worst company I ever rented a car with... and I tried several.

Paid 3 times what I should have paid.

I paid $50 for 5 days of rent. After registration in the office they made me pay another $150 extra, allegedly because the payment was not by credit card, but by debit card. And plus another $300 deposit. Deception on the spot. And you can not refuse, because the rental period has already started to count down.... NOT recommended

Exessive credit card block

The car had a plenty of damage, which didn’t bother us but made a feeling that it would be nearly impossible to argue if they were to accuse us of being responsible. Well, that wasn’t a problem after all, but the firm made a credit card block of 2.200€ which they don’t release even though there were no problems in check-in. In my case, the block is present for one month and they don’t release it even if contacted and asked to do so. A different company for me next time.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company. When you return your vehicle even though they have loads of staff milling around they will refuse to check the vehicle with you. You will be made to hang around while they go away and wash it in their own time. They will then go through the vehicle in your absence with a very profesional looking camera to see if they can find any damages. If you return your car leave plenty of time and refuse to board the shuttle bus until they have checked it.

Let me explain a couple of examples why…

Let me explain a couple of examples why I would NEVER recommend you to rent your car here if you don't want to be scammed in your next holidays.

(1) Threatening and Insulting Rental Process
When you arrive at the rental station, I would not recommend choosing the grumpy-looking man. Don’t worry, you will directly detect him if he is working. (My friend who also booked a car was lucky with the woman and she is supposingly nice) This same man is frequently mentioned in previous comments as well. The man will give you three options to choose from. Option 1, you pay an additional of approximately two to three times the rental price, but fully insured, which you already are. Option 2, 1.5 times the price with a deposit of €400, excluding glass and tires. Both options are deemed acceptable and recommended by the provider. Option 3, booked online but strongly discouraged, requires a €1700 deposit. Since most providers already offer insurance, there's no need to consider any other option. I politely informed the man that I don't need to hear about the other options since I will be choosing Option 3 anyways. In response, the seller treated me as foolish, repeatedly stating his extensive experience in car rental and how silly I am, claiming that I will definitely regret my decision. He then wrote in the contract: "THE CLIENT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE CAR AND WILL PAY FOR EVERY DAMAGE AT THE VEHICLE." I was shocked and objected, stating that this is not acceptable and after some conflict, he adjusted his statement. You don't leave with the best feeling, but similar tactics are expected from other car rental providers. The only difference is that others don't threaten, insult, or pressure you but rather accept your decision normally.

(2) No Confirmation Return
My bad luck was that the same man who rented me the car also received it from me. When arriving, you have to approach the staff and inform them that you want to return the car. What immediately stands out is that they tell you that you can leave without confirmation of the car's return. I've never experienced this and it's certainly not common. However, I wanted to make sure there were no damages and go through the car with them. The man told me that's not possible, and I have to wait at least 15-30 minutes until he cleans the car, and only then will I be informed. Nothing happens before that. As I read in other reviews, this usually takes more than 45 minutes, and if you have to catch a flight soon, you simply can't wait that long. I've never experienced this until today and had to leave WITHOUT CONFIRMATION. I was only told that I should receive an email in 15-30 minutes.

(3) Email Communication + Sand after Car Return
I received an email, but not after 15-30 minutes, fortunately after 2 hours and 30 minutes. To my delight, no damages were found, but because there is sand in the car, I have to pay €99. The problem is that they automatically deduct it from the deposit, and you have no way to get the money back. I was told that cleaning, which usually takes 15/20 minutes, took 40 minutes this time. If you calculate the hourly rate, they earn €300 per hour by vacuuming sand. With that hourly rate, I would also love to work at Nizacars.

I am willing to pay for genuine damage or real dirt (for example, spilled wine/coffee), but for sand, which you usually carry with you on a beach vacation, I see a completely different underlying problem here.

When you reflect on the whole situation soberly, you realize that this is not normal, probably SYSTEMATICALLY PART OF THE BUSINESS MODEL, which as a customer, you should not support. There are plenty of other car rental companies where things go much better and smoother. You just don’t want them to win with this systematical scam and that’s why I felt very much obligated write this review. Just as a reference, the car cost me 193€ for 14 days but the 20min vacuum cleaning cost 99€. I hope you understand why this is a joke.

Avoid

Avoid, just echoing all the other bad reviews how they invent damage to the car if you don't take out there insurance. It must be company policy to do this and although people like myself who booked through a third party (Zest in my case) will get compensated its a shocking business model to defraud insurance companies to increase profits, all this will do is push up premiums. Hopefully Zest and other 3rd party suppliers will remove this company and others with similar policy's. I did respond to damage email and got complety ignored they just took the charge off my card.

AVOID NIZA CAR HIRE

Easy Jet list Niza Cars as one of their endorsed car hire companies - when you book a flight.
Niza place themselves to always come up as the cheapest car hire company.
They only make money by contacting you after you have had the car and claiming you damaged the car when you gave back a car in perfect condition.
Avoid Niza cars like the plague - go for a company that you have checked reviews of in advance - eg top 10 most recommended car hire company.
Always take DATED photos of your car before and after and do not leave the car at the end before it has been checked over in front of you.
To make sure your photos are dated you can email them to yourself- emails are always dated.
