I am living in a council house together…

I am living in a council house together with my for 20yr autistic son and I’ve always been grateful and respectful of the council and the house which I’ve always been proud of. Unfortunately 3yrs ago I was diagnosed with diabetes and now I’m bedridden because I slipped and fell and from there I lost my mobility unfortunately and I was in hospital for almost 3months and they diagnosed me with arthritis and chronic knee pain I have terrible memory loss and a lovely lady came to meet me and test my memory and then I was told that I might have dementia unfortunately so I was told that I need to have a MRI scan and I’ve been rejected 9times by ambulance people because my house is in an unsafe place and I have a narrow walkway and I have 2steps by my front and back doors which is not my fault at all I am so frustrated and annoyed because there’s nothing I can do, we haven’t been moved to the bungalow that they apparently got for us and my son is so frustrated because we haven’t done nothing together and that’s so stressful because this is my life and I’m somebody’s daughter and a mother to 2sons my oldest son doesn’t live with us i just live with my youngest and I feel like we’ve been treated like prisoners I haven’t showered for 3yrs and I’m a very smart person I love a smart environment and what the council is doing to my son and I is very selfish, I wish they hadn’t told me that they got me a bungalow, I even told them keep your bungalow and put me in a flat with a walk in shower I don’t care I’ve been tortured enough and I’m afraid and praying that there’s no issues in my head or brain they better pray that I’m good and haven’t left it too late because I’d rather die! This is unnecessary torture from the council and ambulance people, I hope someone reads my review and gets a heart not for me exactly but for my learning difficulties son.
Thank you

50 mil missing from repairs 90yr old dad had to sue to get a toilet.

Awful so 50 mil went missing from the council housing repairs fund. My dad in hos 90's was living in a council house with no toilet, the kitchen cieling falling through. Absolutely appalling conditions. All the council did was give him a portaloo. Only got fixed after he sued. The council is so currupt. I vote labour in the general elections but I'd never vote for anybody who's oversaw the immense fuckups in this council.

Disgrace of an authority

Disgrace of an authority. Be prepared for a summons if you dispute any council tax as there systems are not up to date, yet when you do not pay (for genuine reasons) they are quick of the mark to chase you. They taxed the property in the wrong band despite the official government site having a different Banding and blame it on the system not being updated, yet are happy to take you to court for this. If only you could take councils to court for negligence.
In addition you send them a document on the online portal and most of the time it doesn't get seen to for weeks, occasionally you get a response. Again they brush this off and ask you for details and when you phoned in etc, it seems like they are constantly trying to shift the blame and dodge questions.
I had an email from them requesting information, the next day a letter in the post, didn't even give me a chance to reply before taking formal action. A reply would have to go through the online portal (as they no longer have an email address) which would take weeks for them to read, a backwards system.
Fed up of a system that only works for them when the want it to. Wasted hours on the phone to get nowhere.

Absolute disgusting service

Absolute disgusting service. Customer Service practically interrogate almost impossible to speak to anyone. No response to emails for the past 2 years. Not one department taking ownership and passing the blame to each other

Just terrible

Just terrible - no staff to answer phones, systems that make it difficult to raise anything with them other than paying money, and delays in responses when finally able to work out how the system works. Thankfully I'm selling my property and moving out of the area. I hope to never have to deal with them again.

Negligent, Unprofessional, Inhumane,

Nottingham City Council has failed to properly resolve a serious damp and mould issue in a vulnerable elderly tenant’s council property, first reported over a year ago.

Despite over 200 emails, multiple complaints, inspections and site visits, mould beneath the carpets remains uninvestigated and untreated.

The Council relied on surface-level checks only, and even after arranging a professional deep clean, the mould remains.

Partial works were carried out, but key elements were left unfinished, leaving an ongoing health risk.

Nearly a year on, and Councillor Jay Hayes and the senior team continue to leave the issue unresolved. Negligent & unprofessional. It’s hardly surprising considering the terrible reputation NCC has nationally.

Leasehold letdowns

Live in a leasehold property where they charge for repairs and then never complete them. They also claim to offer insurance but can't locate the policy details or give me correct contacts so who knows if this policy even exists or is it another scam? I asked for contact from a manager which was promised the following day as the manager appears to always be on a lunch break or conveniently out of office, especially if something goes wrong.

The bins hardly ever get emptied especially if you're disabled and on the pull out scheme. The streets are dirty and full of litter and fly tipping which again the Council also leaves for months. They also neglect all the gardens and leave properties abandoned for months.

Avoid!!! And do not purchase any properties ever owned by them.

Reporting litter issue

Tried to report a litter problem in the city centre. The automated system is useless. Can’t actually report it?! With the city centre in the state it is, it’s not suprising they make it difficult to get in touch.

Lived here all my life, never seen it so bad.

Unfair PCN and Poor Treatment of Visitors

I recently visited Nottingham and had a very disappointing experience with the council’s road system and PCN process. While driving to the Premier Inn on Goldsmith Street, Google Maps directed me down a route that turned out to be restricted. The street was extremely poorly lit and the signage was not visible to me at all. When I arrived at the hotel, staff told me this happens to many guests, which says a lot about how unclear the area is.

I explained all of this in my appeal, including the fact that councils can update restrictions directly with Google, but the appeal was rejected without any real consideration of the circumstances. As a visitor spending money in the city, it feels incredibly unfair to be fined for something that could easily be prevented with clearer signs and up-to-date mapping data.

This experience has completely put me off returning to Nottingham. It felt less like traffic management and more like catching out visitors who don’t know the area. Very disappointed and would warn other travellers to be extremely cautious when driving into the city.

I am writing to a concern regarding my account. Previously, I was informed that there was a credit on my account, and based on that understanding, I continued under the impression that my monthly payments had been properly adjusted.

However, I have now been notified that the city did not remove the monthly payments and is requesting that I refund the entire amount at once close to 400 pounds with a court threat This situation is confusing, as it contradicts the earlier communication indicating a credit balance. And now I can't even get anyone to help or clarify the matters. It's such a shame

Having read about Hilda's handrail…

Having read about Hilda's handrail months long 'saga', this council seem to be a thorough disgrace. 93 year old woman cannot leave her home and you have the gall to say you will sue anyone who helps to have one fitted for her. Disgusting incompetent bunch of paper pushers.

Terrible

my review is regarding trading standards which is operated through Nottingham City Council as far as I’m aware , I reported one or two things to trading standards over a certain periods and I have to say they’re about as much use as a chocolate fireplace, they never seem interested in your case unless it is a major major issue, etc, I would give a zero star rating if I could for these,
