Nova Credit helps people access financial services by providing lenders with a more complete picture of their financial health. We do this through three main solutions: Cash Atlas™, which analyzes bank account data to show your financial responsibility; Income Navigator, which quickly verifies your income; and Credit Passport®, which brings your international credit history to a new country. Our technology helps banks, credit card companies, property managers, and phone carriers say "yes" more often to people who might otherwise be overlooked by traditional credit systems, especially newcomers to a country and those with limited credit history.

Complete Joke

I supplied a physical copy of my 1099 to verify my income. They then sent me an email requesting that I grant them full and unlimited access to my checking account to verify my income. What a joke. Are these people nuts? First of all, they don’t need access to my checking account to verify my income. I already gave them the physical copy of my annual 1099R.

Apartment

I used Nova Credit when applying for an apartment lease. The platform doesn’t take into account self employed business owners. Very clunky process and you can tell that the apartment managers have a lot of trouble with the platform after many back and forth calls.

Mediocre

Mediocre! Nova Credits are only supported by Amex, who already let you transfer your creditscore in 2 ways without nova credit! Namely, by filling in your own foreign credit card number on the website when signing up and by using the global transfer program! Then you can also already build credit with the capitol one quicksilver secured creditcard!
Then Verizon‘s deal of 80 dollar per month 5G isn’t exactly cheap!
Then you can never use nova credit to ever get a mortgage!

It is the simplest thing amongst all the things

I’m a Canadian moving to the US for work (in the process of getting a SSN). There’s a heck of a lot to do when moving, but getting a credit card turns out to be simple. I used Nova Credit to translate my Canadian Transunion credit score of 829 to a report that Amex understood. It was accepted, and Amex also required proof of address from my US bank. After that was provided, it approved me for the Amex Blue Cash Everyday credit card with $2000 credit limit. It’s not bad considering that I have no credit history in the US, and I’m happy to start building one.

Got me my first Amex Card in US

I moved from India and had a good credit score. Using Nova Credit, I was able to get my first American Express credit card with a very good credit limit to kick start my credit building journey (and cashback) in US

A great service, highly recommended for newcomers to the US

Like everyone else here I found myself emigrated to the US. I have a perfect UK credit rating and no credit rating in the US. As a 39 year old with a wife, a baby on the way, who had a mortgage, a car, a motorcycle and a comfortable life in the UK arriving in the US having access to nothing its extremely difficult and demoralising.

Faced with no credit history and therefore no way to obtain credit I found Nova Credit. It seemed dubious. It felt like a big risk - the last thing I wanted to do was fail an application and start my US journey off on an even worse position.

But it worked great - I got accepted with American express within 30 minutes of applying online. The application itself was direct with Amex which made me feel better about Nova Credit (as did reviews here).

Some advice:

Make sure you select the checkbox that says "I do not have a US credit history", this is what triggers the Nova credit search on the 3rd application screen.

The application could not be entirely completed online, I had to call Amex so they could manually verify my address. This involved them calling my bank - so make sure you set up a US bank account with your US address before you apply.

Also make sure you have a SSN before you apply - I don't know if that's totally necessary, but they asked for it multiple times and its what your new credit history will be linked to.

Finally, why only 4 stars? Nova Credit's reach is limited. Basically only American Express. As soon as I'm able to I will be ditching Amex and will get a Visa CC. Similarly, it would be great if Nova could branch out and be used for products such as auto loans, and mortgages.

Worked as advertised!

I am new to California from Canada; moved down for work. Nova Credit actually got me a great credit card using my Canadian credit (and they sent me a copy of the report, it's super cool).

After getting here, I discovered that basically everything in the US is set up to be slow and to distrust newcomers by default. I would imagine that, as a country with so many immigrants, extending a small amount of trust (as I received when I moved to the UK) could be good business development policy, but I digress.

One of the things on my newcomer to-do list (along with get SSN, get chequeing account, get car, rent apartment, get drivers license, set up utilities, figure out healthcare, do my job, etc...) was to get a credit card. I went to the bank to apply and the banker legit chuckled at me and said that it would be a minimum of 3-6 months before I can get a credit card. He said there was no way for him to help and if I applied it would trash my US credit and ruin my life...

To the Google I went! Found Nova Credit, applied for their AmEx (I needed SSN, SIN, chequeing account info and US mailing address that matches my bank account address and SSN account), and got approved over the phone the next day with a larger credit limit than I was expecting. Now I can start building US credit, which will go a long way towards getting the $40k car loan that I want.
Thanks!

Worst experience ever with Nova Credit

Worst experience ever with Nova Credit. Their "partners" wouldn't even use Nova Credit report to help with my finance.

Westlake Financial said they saw no credit history on my profile and they could not use Nova Credit. They asked my dealership to pull my Nova Credit which is funny because how could the dealership have access to Nova Credit?

Don't believe the bells and whistles from Nova Credit and they will only ruin your US Credit history if you trust them and go ahead with them.

Their support team is hopeless. I did 3 enquiries and the only thing I got was the "we will get back to you within 1-2 business days" and they never got back to me!!!

Hi Alan,

Thank you for providing us with your feedback. Nova Credit takes feedback seriously as we always strive to ensure our consumers not only have the best experience with our products but also understand how to best utilize them.

Nova Credit does not have the ability to impact your US credit score, as we work specifically with your foreign bureau to translate your credit score to a US standard that can be used as a second reference when applicable. If a pre-existing US credit report is available to be used, the lender will always the US report as the primary reference.

Please feel free to continue our conversation via the initial case for any further questions or concerns as we want to ensure your privacy and data are secure.

Not what it says on the tin!!!

Used Nova to apply for a credit card in the US using my UK credit history (or so they say). Turns out that even though Nova did a hard pull to get my full credit history from the UK, the banks didn't even use it (I have this in writing). Amex just put me on the minimum credit limit anyway and ignored the Nova check -- total waste of time! AND Nova's hard pull has negatively affected my credit score.

In response to reply below: I am in fact talking about American Express. They took the Nova report but didn't use it when determining credit limit, etc. So it was the same as if I hadn't bothered with Nova at all. Seems like one big data grab from Nova Credit, don't give them your info!

Hi Matt,

Jordan here with the Nova Credit team. Unfortunately, translated foreign credit reports are only recognized by lenders that Nova Credit has established a partnership with, for example, American Express. I have included a link from our help center that might help explain how your translated report is utilized.

https://help.novacredit.com/s/article/does-nova-credit-transfer-my-home-country-credit-file-to-the-u-s-what-is-my-u-s-credit-score-after-using-nova-credit

In addition, pulls made by Equifax UK to Nova Credit should only be considered Soft Pulls. If you are seeing anything different it may be worth speaking with your bureau. I would be happy to further look into this matter for you, but I would urge you to submit an inquiry request (for confidentiality purposes) so I can continue to assist you. If so, please address the case as Attention Jordan and we can pick up where we left off.

Thanks

Thanks to Nova Credits. I applied for an Amex credit card with nova and got instantly approved.

Nova Credit is not a company is a brand, it's a financial helper for students. I came to the USA this fall 2023 and I am looking to take a credit card, but no company gave me a credit card without SSN. At that time I came to know about Nova Credit and I applied for an Amex credit card with nova and got instantly approved. I suggest all students who are presently in the USA or coming to the USA, must try Nova credit and get Amex card Thanks to Nova Credits
