Beware of this charter company!

Beware of this charter company!
The problems start right at the deposit payment stage. The company sends emails informing clients that the deposit can only be paid via bank transfer, which creates significant inconvenience and concern. They refuse to accept card payments under the pretext that there have been attempted card frauds in the past. In our opinion, however, the real reason is that Greek banks do not provide them with POS terminals.
Furthermore, the company is run by foreigners, most of whom do not speak English, and their boats in Alimos are scattered across different parts of the marina, which makes departure considerably difficult.
Of the several charters we have had with them so far, not a single one has gone without a problem. In one case, they forced a client to pay for a broken toilet that had already been reported as faulty during the previous charter.
The company also failed to mention at the time of booking in December that they charge an additional €250 for bed linen and towels. Despite being presented with evidence, they completely ignored the objection.
Overall, communication is extremely difficult — when a problem arises, it is almost impossible to resolve anything with them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. However, we would like to clarify a few points, as some statements in your review may give readers an inaccurate impression of the situation.
The charter company is required to handle security deposits strictly in accordance with the terms of the insurance provider and the regulations of the local port authorities. We consistently follow these requirements, regardless of personal opinions or individual preferences. We kindly ask our guests and skippers to respect these regulations, as they are not determined by our company.
We offered the quickest and most convenient method for paying the security deposit. However, the guests preferred to pay in cash. Under European Union regulations, cash payments above €500 are subject to legal restrictions, and we fully comply with all applicable tax and financial regulations. We understand that this may differ from practices in other countries, but compliance with the law is not optional for us.
Regarding the bed linen, we work with a professional laundry service that provides high-quality linen. We take pride in maintaining high standards while keeping our prices affordable. Our linen is replaced regularly throughout the season, and pillows and duvets are also renewed frequently to ensure our guests' comfort.
We respect that every customer has different expectations and preferences. If our operating procedures and service standards do not meet your expectations, we genuinely believe you may be more comfortable choosing a company whose policies better align with your preferences.
We wish you safe sailing and all the best in your future travels.

I strongly advise against chartering a…

I strongly advise against chartering a yacht from Oceanis Yachting. From the very beginning, the owner unjustifiably questioned our valid sailing qualifications, creating a hostile atmosphere before the trip even started.
The yacht was in poor technical condition, with faulty and non-working equipment that affected both comfort and safety. The owner attempted to charge us for alleged damages that were either pre-existing or highly questionable. The security deposit was not returned on time - we had to wait a few months, and instead of resolving the matter, the owner openly encouraged us to recover the money from our insurance company. This approach clearly shifts responsibility onto the client and feels deeply dishonest.
The company tries to charge for every possible extra cost and additional service, often without clear communication in advance. The owner was rude, aggressive, shouted, and repeatedly threatened us with the police and marina authorities instead of resolving matters professionally.
This business shows a complete lack of understanding of basic customer service and hospitality standards expected in European tourism. It is run by a Russian owner, and the practices we experienced fall far below what international clients should accept. This review is written to warn potential customers to stay away and avoid a ruined holiday. I strongly advise against chartering a yacht from this company.

We would like to provide a more accurate account of what happened, as your review does not reflect the events as they occurred.
When a yacht is damaged during a charter, the charter company does not decide how much of the security deposit is retained or determine the cost of repairs. These matters are handled according to the insurance policy, the documented condition of the yacht, and the repair costs.
We clearly remember your charter because the yacht sustained significant damage and several items of equipment were missing at the end of your rental. All damage and missing equipment were documented during the check-out process, recorded in the official checklist, and supported by photographs and video evidence.
After your charter, the yacht was repaired by our authorized service company, which submitted the repair invoice to the insurance company. The security deposit was then processed in accordance with the insurance policy and the applicable procedures. These decisions were based on the documented evidence and established regulations, not on the charter company's personal discretion.
Throughout the charter, we repeatedly advised you to follow the standard check-in, check-out, and yacht operating procedures. Unfortunately, these recommendations were not always followed, which resulted in damage to the yacht. The retention of part of the security deposit was a consequence of that documented damage.
We appreciate that every skipper gains experience over time. We sincerely hope that since this charter you have developed your skills and become more familiar with charter procedures, insurance requirements, and the responsibilities associated with operating a yacht. Following these rules helps protect both the yacht and the crew and significantly reduces the risk of losing a security deposit.
We wish you safe and enjoyable sailing in the future.

I'd like to Warner anyone interested in…

I'd like to warn anyone interested in chartering a yacht with DVL Yachting and Charter. The company's Russian owners are engaging in unfair practices. For example, they refuse to refund customers' deposits, claiming damage never occurred. Due to negative online reviews, they may operate under different names. The yachts they offer are: Oceanis 46.1 Marilyn, Oceanis 48 Alisa, Oceanis 46.1 Nagia, Oceanis 51.1 Olga, and Aventura 37 Volki. The yachts are based in Alimos, Greece. Avoid this company!

We believe your review is based on incorrect information and gives readers a misleading impression of our company, whether intentionally or unintentionally.
To clarify the facts, our company has never owned or operated a catamaran or a yacht named "Nagia." This statement alone raises serious questions about the accuracy of your review.
We also remember your charter because our team spent approximately four hours during check-in explaining the yacht's systems, including how to handle the sails and operate the anchor windlass. We always take the time to ensure our guests are familiar with the yacht before departure.
Unfortunately, despite this additional assistance, the yacht was returned in very poor condition—both inside and out—and with documented damage exceeding €2,000. As required by the charter agreement and the insurance policy, the damage was assessed, the repair costs were documented, and the insurance company retained part of the security deposit to cover those repairs. This was not a discretionary decision by our company but the standard procedure for documented damage.
We sincerely hope that your experience has helped you gain valuable sailing experience and that on future charters you will follow the yacht operating procedures and return the yacht in good condition. Doing so is the best way to avoid unnecessary damage and ensure the full return of your security deposit.
We wish you safe sailing and all the best in your future voyages.

DVL / Oceanis Yachting - SCAM! AVOID!

RUSSIAN owned company that steals deposits putting up fake damages, charging multiple charterers for the same damage. Lying, unproffesional, scammers. Boats are in tragic shape, staff is unpleasant, shouting, and if you have proof, etc. - sudenlly they dont speak english.
Waiting for invoices for 3-4 months to put it to deposit insurance company - finally when they issued the invoices - there was different damage, with pictures of a different boat.. crazy stuff..
This russian scammers should never be allowed to do any business in Greece. I know we are not alone - any other skipper that we spoke with that had a charter with Oceanis Yachting/DVL had similar problems.
They deleted google company because of customers opinions, etc. Watch out!
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

We respectfully but firmly disagree with your review, as it does not accurately reflect what occurred during your charter and gives readers a misleading impression of the facts.
At check-out, you were presented with a complete record of the documented damage, including the official check-out checklist, photographs, and video evidence. The condition of the yacht and the damage were fully documented and acknowledged at that time.
The security deposit was retained solely because of the documented damage that occurred during your charter. Under the terms of the charter agreement and the applicable insurance procedures, the charter company has no legal authority to absorb or waive the cost of repairs resulting from damage caused during a charter. Repair costs are determined on the basis of documented evidence, and the security deposit is processed strictly in accordance with the insurance policy and the charter contract. This is a standard procedure applied equally to every customer.
You also chose not to purchase deposit insurance. Many experienced skippers choose this protection specifically because it significantly reduces their financial exposure in the event of accidental damage. It is a widely accepted practice within the charter industry.
Unfortunately, your review omits these important facts and therefore presents an incomplete and misleading account of what happened. We believe it is important that future customers understand that charter companies must operate according to contractual obligations, insurance requirements, and maritime regulations—not according to personal opinions or individual expectations.
We encourage every skipper to treat a charter yacht with the same care they would their own vessel. These yachts represent a significant investment, and respecting operating procedures helps ensure safety, protects the yacht, and avoids unnecessary costs for everyone involved.
We sincerely wish you many enjoyable sailing experiences in the future and hope they are accompanied by professionalism, respect for the yacht, and an appreciation of the responsibilities that come with operating it.

Unprofessional and fraudulent

Charter of Oceanis 46.1 “Nagia” (July 19 – Aug 2, 2025, Alimos marina, Athens) revealed serious issues:
1) Last-minute change of deposit terms - 72 hours before embarkation, the company changed payment from cash to wire transfer, threatening to cancel the charter if not paid.
2) Failure to provide receipts for cash payments made on site.
3) Failure to provide required documents - no invoices, crew lists, or receipts despite repeated requests.
4) No response to a formal complaint - deadlines were ignored.

The company has deliberately ignored all requests and reminders. Such behavior reflects unprofessional and potentially fraudulent practices.

We strongly advise caution when dealing with Oceanis Yachting.

This company also operates under the following names:
- Premium Sailing IKE
- DVL Charter & Yachting
Manager for all these companies: Vlad Sambur

It is clear from your review that you have your own opinion about how these situations should be handled. However, a charter company cannot operate according to individual opinions or preferences. We are legally required to follow the procedures established by the insurance company, the charter contract, and the local port authorities. These rules are not optional, and we apply them consistently to every customer.
We would encourage you to become more familiar with these procedures, as well as with the accepted standards of yacht operation and charter responsibilities. Understanding and following these rules helps avoid misunderstandings and unnecessary disputes.
Based on the qualifications and experience presented to us at the time of the charter, it was evident that your practical experience was limited. Every skipper starts somewhere, but experience also comes with accepting responsibility and respecting established procedures rather than challenging them after the fact.
We sincerely hope that, as you gain more experience, you will find that professional skippers rarely encounter these issues because they understand and follow the rules that apply equally to everyone.
We wish you fair winds and safe sailing in the future.

Also DVL Yachting and Charter

There were no mandatory safety equipment on board. No tools. Many thing missing from check-in form. After asked for this Vlad did not reacted anyway. Some things were first said that they will be fixed but after couple of hours nothing had happaned and Vlad just made excuse why it is not fixed.

We asked for early check in but was able to leave after 5 pm.

Made up propeller problem was invented at harbour, driver bring back plastic bags shred that in no way could have been in propeller and was probably in drivers belt. We have to driver in cash, no receipt.

Tank car for diesel was rigged, we did not use that much of diesel.

Safety handle broke from inside of the boat and Vlad just made up stories, that cabinet door was not close. Actually our smallest crew member crab the handle and it just fell of.

We broke outboard motors handle, but the instructions from Vlad was send it to Athens. We tried to find place in two islands to send with no luck and lost several hours from our vacation for that. Next thing was that Vlad said that there is mechanic in Poros. When we got to Poros, he informed us that they have no time to fix the motor.

Check out was suppose to be before 9am, but nobody showed up.

No spesific information what has been reductud from deposit even when asked.

So bad communication and cheating that will not recommend to anyone.

No receipt ot tax paid for anything.

Replies from company were just like deal with it and this is blackmail.

Probably russian linked company anyway...

We remember your crew well, and we genuinely found you and your family to be pleasant people. Throughout your charter, our team made every effort to assist you whenever possible.
However, it is important to clarify that a base manager's role is to provide support in accordance with the charter agreement. Charter companies do not provide concierge or VIP escort services of the kind you expected or requested, and it would be misleading to judge our service based on expectations that were never part of the contract.
All repairs and maintenance were carried out in full compliance with the charter agreement and the established procedures followed by our authorized service providers. The yacht was properly maintained, equipped with all required safety equipment, and held all mandatory safety certificates.
We also recognize that charter practices in Southern Europe differ from those in Scandinavian countries. Over the years, we have welcomed many guests from Scandinavia, and we understand that some procedures may be unfamiliar at first. These differences are simply the result of different regulations, insurance requirements, and charter industry standards—not a lack of service or professionalism.
We hope that with more experience chartering in the Mediterranean and other Southern European waters, you will become more familiar with these procedures and appreciate why they are followed consistently by professional charter companies.
We wish you fair winds and enjoyable sailing in the future.
