Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 233 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the customer service extremely poor, describing it as the worst, with difficulties reaching advisors or resolving issues. The website also presented significant problems, often dysfunctional for purchasing tickets or managing accounts. A common complaint was the excessively high prices for tickets, snacks, and merchandise, which many felt were unaffordable. Customers also reported issues with gift cards not working, incorrect pricing, and finding others in their paid seats. While some reviewers encountered rude or unhelpful staff, others found employees polite, professional, and very helpful.

⭐☆☆☆☆ 1 Star

⭐☆☆☆☆ 1 Star – Very Disappointing Experience

My friend and I have been visiting the ODEON Hastings for many years, and we have never experienced anything like this before.

On 29/05/2026, during the last showing of the night, the screen room was extremely cold throughout the film. My friend, who has been coming to this cinema for many years and has a physical health condition, became so uncomfortable that he was forced to leave halfway through the movie. He was very upset, as we had been looking forward to watching the film together.

What made the situation even more disappointing was the response from the staff. We explained the circumstances and asked whether my friend could be offered another opportunity to watch the film on a different day, as he had been unable to stay because of the temperature in the screen. Unfortunately, this request was refused.

I also spoke to a member of staff called Dust, who told me that this is happening all the time now. If that is true, then it is clearly an ongoing issue that management should be addressing.

After many years of being loyal customers, we feel extremely let down by both the conditions in the cinema and the lack of customer care shown afterwards.

Sadly, we will not be returning to ODEON Hastings. This was the worst cinema experience we have ever had, and we cannot recommend it to others. Even if it were the last cinema left in the world, we would not come back.

Lovely experience.

I went to watch the Mandalorian and Grogu movie today in Laser and iSense and the experience was awesome. It's worth the extra £5. I ordered the special Mandalorian cup and popcorn bucket and got them as promised.

The only let down that they played 27mins of ads and trailers after the advertised movie time. I had an appointment to go but luckily the movie finished as I was walking out so didn't miss anything. Still lovely experience.

£87 later - I will NEVER return there

£87 later, I’m never going back. Disastrous service, terrible food, and freezing cold.
I haven’t been to the cinema in a long time, and my experience at Odeon Luxe Park Royal has completely convinced me never to return. For a total cost of £87.36, you expect a premium, enjoyable evening. Instead, it was a masterclass in terrible customer service and poor quality.
The Food Disaster:
I ordered a hotdog for £7.99. Our number was called, but only the hotdog was ready. The server left it sitting on the open counter for three minutes while he served other customers—literally talking right over our uncovered food. When I asked for a fresh one (as I didn’t fancy a side of saliva and cold food), he replaced it. However, the bread on the second one was rock hard and tough like a biscuit. When I pointed this out, he brought a third one. This time, the bread felt like it had just been pulled straight out of the fridge. The server actually told me, "Well, at least the sausage is hot." Unbelievable. I asked for and was given a refund. While the two staff members were clearly under pressure, there was zero apology, and one young lady showed a massive attitude.
The Drinks:
During the film, my partner bought me a glass of Prosecco. It smelled incredibly sour and tasted bitter. He noticed it was poured from an old bottle in the fridge that just had a stopper on it. It was completely undrinkable. Heaven knows how many days or weeks that bottle had been sitting open.
The Environment:
The air conditioning was cranked up so high that I was shivering throughout the entire movie. I actually checked Google Reviews while sitting in the screen and saw that other reviewers had complained twice before about the freezing temperatures. Realising complaints are ignored here, I didn't bother wasting my breath.
The Only Positives:
To be fair, the reclining seats are very clean and comfortable with handy little tray tables, and the toilets were clean. But a nice chair isn't enough to salvage a miserable evening.
To Management:
I can see from your other reviews that you reply to negative experiences with the same generic, copy-and-pasted template while doing absolutely nothing to fix the actual issues. Save yourself the two seconds it takes to copy and paste your standard corporate response to this review. I won't be back.

The Worst Booking Platform in the World

Whoever created this website needs to go and sit in a dark room and take stock of their life choices.
This is the worst website experience in my life. Just trying to book 2 tickets to see a film and it has taken over 30 mins to get to the payment screen and then that failed as well. So given up, I'll go to another cinema.
The selection of seats and film and time is ok. BUT then you want to add a discount code and then you enter a world of pain and frustration. There is no logic or helpful prompts to guide you, you end up repeating your selections time and time again to no avail.
Surly you want people to come to your cinemas?? Please review your website process and make it user friendly 😞

Overpriced to the max BAIT AND SWITCH

Overpriced to the max. They use bait and switch tactics like saying films would be £5 but you could never find them ever. Then recently in 2026 they said films would be £7 if you signed up and gave them all your details and a pint of blood and you could watch all the blockbuster movies. Well guess what - no you cant. Prices are £13 to £19 to watch a movie. Go shove it Odeon... I hope you go broke. Vue cinemas actually do have £7.99 movies every day. Im never watching another movie with you as people who scam the public dont deserve business. I bet your still charging booking fees and costing even more if you come in to pay in person. DISGUSTING.

Trowbridge staff who don’t want you too see the credits at the end.

Trowbridge Odeon can be hit or miss if the air conditioning is working or not as it’s not controlled on site apparently, I am disappointed they they removed the sale of a kid’s small sized popcorn as you can’t buy them on their own anymore and the customer has to buy a deal of a drink, snacks and chocolate, I don’t want that , I only want a child’s size popcorn for me as an adult.
This is a major annoyance for me, it’s staff members coming in to the film when it’s not finished at about ten minutes before it ends who stand and stare at customers or they stand and stare at the customers still watching the film who want to see the entire end including the credits to see where the filming locations were.
They definitely do not like people to see all the credits at the end so the customer feels very intimidated ,humiliated and embarrassed to the point that they are forced to leave judging by the angry looking stares.
The managers have said they do this to deter customers who may see another film for free by remaining in their seats and wait for the next film showing without paying.
I have paid to see all the of the film.

I took my your grandson to the First showing of the Mandalorian and Grogu, only to find that on the opening night all the merchandised had been on sale 5 days before and sold out.
A Dissapointed Grandson whos experience in the cinema was a poor one due to poor mangement and then they wonder why Kids dont go to the cinema any more

For profit, not people

Cinema in East Kilbride has certainly had a good build, expensive designer and such. But forty minutes of adverts before you can see the bloody film is an absolute joke considering the price everyone in that packed room had paid to be there. To say nothing of the insanely priced merch that could have been manufactured in the UK for 25p but was probably made in Taiwan for 2p and you can't even get the smallest item for less than a tenner.
Moreover, try talking to their customer service department. Go on, try. Suppose you want to talk to someone in a particular cinema, for any reason whatsoever. You dial the phone number listed for that cinema (not for the company's customer service line, the number listed everywhere as being how you call *that cinema*) and you get a recording of an AI (they won't even pay a real human to say it) telling you how to go their website, "this call will now end." >CLICK<
You go to their website and make the chat box work (which is hard if you have certain script restrictors because I guess screw people who hate adverts and malware) and you get put through to an AI that has incredibly limited understanding and goldfish memory. When you *finally* convince it to let you talk to a human, you get no indication of how long you're going to be waiting. At least when that human finally does message you, there's an audible notification in case you're not just sitting there waiting for them. But that human can barely help with the things they get asked every day and anything outside of that gets what feels like a copypasta explanation of why they can't help you and what they recommend doing if you're worried about this thing.
Don't get me wrong, the staff on duty in the cinema were lovely and they helped promptly when I had an issue with a poorly maintained seat. But there's that and the out of order machines and the fact the place is so poorly signposted internally and externally (to say nothing of the lack of any lighting on the doors to the screen even when the lights are up) so it's really hard to find and to navigate once you get there. Between this and the other one whose staff are on strike over pay and conditions, I'm running out of cinemas I'll touch with a bargepole.

App glitch completely blocks my booking with shocking customer service!

I paid £219 upfront for an annual myLIMITLESS subscription, but a severe server-side account error on ODEON's backend completely prevents me from booking tickets. The app throws up a red error banner claiming I “already have a ticket booked for this time” due to a phantom reservation lock.
I have tested this across 4 separate devices, completely ruling out a local cache issue—this is undeniably a fault on their central servers locking my profile.
When I contacted customer support, the agent openly admitted that their central team cannot clear this account glitch remotely. Unbelievably, their official solution was for me to drive a 50-minute round trip to the physical cinema, pay out-of-pocket for a standard ticket, and hope the on-site team can manually override it and refund me.
Forcing a customer to front extra cash and drive over an hour to bypass a flaw in ODEON's digital infrastructure just to use a membership they already paid for is an utter joke.
I want to keep my subscription, but I need a formal escalation to their technical team to manually clear the ghost booking lock on my account profile immediately. Acknowledge the issue and fix the backend.

It was nice experience

After a long break from going to the cinema due to some unpleasant experiences elsewhere, I decided to visit Odeon Uxbridge today and take my wife to see The Devil Wears Prada for her birthday. I have to say, I was genuinely and very pleasantly surprised. What was meant to be a simple birthday outing turned into a really enjoyable experience.

The cinema has changed a lot — the smaller screens are clean, fresh and well‑maintained, and the toilets were also spotless. We had a small issue with the seats we had selected, but the manager handled it quickly and professionally. A young female staff member (I believe her name was Sawn or Shawn) came over to apologise, checked alternative seating options for us, and at the end even offered us a complimentary ticket for the inconvenience. Her attitude was warm, polite and very professional.

I know the cinema industry from the inside, and I understand how challenging this job can be. That’s why I truly appreciate the level of care and customer service we received today. This visit has definitely changed my view of my local Odeon in a positive way. Thank you for a very pleasant afternoon .

Ruined day

If I could give a minus review I would,We took our autistic lads to the cinema! (And we have always took food never had any issues) this day we took a KFC, a worker set upon my lads shouting at them that they couldn’t take it in, he got upset and we tried to speak to the lady but she was arrogant and didn’t wanna listen,we then spoke to the manager explained everything and he was fine with it, so we goes inside gets settled and all of a sudden the lights come on and the police are there, my husbands goes to speak with them I later find out she’s told the police my son has gone to hit her which is a lie, I will never go there now not ever the whole day was ruined!

Terrible from beginning to end

My visit to your Odeon Cinema at the MetroCentre on 4/5 to see the 40th Anniversary showing of Highlander in Screen 11 was far below the standard I would expect from Odeon.

The sound quality throughout the film was poor and often muffled, which made it difficult to enjoy.

In addition, my seat (K14) was broken, with the left side of the cushion or support having dropped. There were no staff members available to report this to, either before or after the film. The seats were also dirty and the fabric had holes.

The staff at the counter also seemed disinterested and unengaged. When I ordered nachos with cheese, I later discovered cheese sauce on the bottom of the tray, which stained my clothes when I sat down. The staff member scanning tickets appeared unmotivated, leaning over the podium and making little effort to engage with customers. To make matters worse, the bins in the area were overflowing, which gave a poor impression of cleanliness and care.

Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. This was my first visit to the cinema in several years, and sadly, it has put me off returning. Your slogan claims that you “make movies better,” but my experience was quite the opposite.

I emailed with a complaint the day after my experience but no-one has bothered to reply!

Reclining seats very comfortable but…

Reclining seats very comfortable but difficult to find correct seating, numbers were not clear. Also gets very chilly in there when your sat for awhile. I can not belive your charging nearly a fiver for a bottle of coke the prices are ridiculous I refuse to be ripped off like that. Staff were polite and pleasant but had to wait nearly 10 minutes for someone to show me to seat it’s dark and I just couldn’t see. Toilets were not great need to be cleaned and checked more regularly. Other than that a pleasant visit.

Fantastic Film, Rubbish experience.

Fantastic Film. Poor experience. Went to see The Devil Wears Prada 2 at the Bournemouth Odeon. Buying tickets easy, staff lovely, film amazing. However film time is advertised at 11am. Actually started at 11.44 am due to over 4o minutes of adverts (23) and trailers (8). Almost got to the point where we were going to walk out and ask for our money back. Cinema was very empty which is no surprise. We can watch it on Netflix with perhaps one or two adverts for a fraction of the price. Last time we will ever go to the Cinema. Shame really, because the movie on a big screen was great.
