Do not trust their price match guarantee, or the claim that it is cheaper to book direct with them. Booking.com is almost always cheaper. Even if you send Greene King a screenshot of the lower booking.com price (for exactly the same deal) they will not match it so their guarantee is meaningless. We cancelled our booking. Shame on you Greene King.
Just completed a course there. The hotel itself is a little run down. I didn't stay overnight so can't comment on the bedrooms. We were allocated a conference room (converted bar!) Which had access to a beer garden/smoking area (very untidy and not well maintained). The conference room itself comprised of lines of tressel tables with table cloths on them (probably to hide the condition of the tables!). It took numerous attempts to get the staff to turn the heating on in the room. It was so cold at times we were wearing coats whilst the instruction took place! Water wasn't supplied to the tables each day until about 2 hours into the course and wine glasses were supplied instead of water tumblers. All in all not such a good experience.

Used this restaurant many times over the last few years but the quality in recent visits has slowly got worse.
Our visit last Saturday (24/7, 5.30pm) resulted in over/under cooked vegetables, hard, not fully, baked jacket potatoes and Sirloin/Fillet steaks so fatty they were almost inedible.
Don't know what's happened but this once quality/superior/incredibly popular has lost all its appeal?
