Hard to give 1star !!

Hard to give 1star !!!

Sent back my camera to get a refund as that model could not be repaired.

Then had to chase for 2 weeks to have a response … sent the money for the new camera … where advertised it would take 3/4 days … have spent a further 3 weeks chasing them to be told they had a computer error!

I could have ordered and received from Amazon with in 2 days.

They never follow things thru … emails take days to respond ….

I would heavily suggest to use any other supplier other than this awful organisation.

Awful

I have recently started using my Olympus pl8 camera again. When I try to use the OI Share app to upload photos to my iPhone, it’s only older photos that show up. I have spent the last two hours researching and trying everything to resolve this and have gotten nowhere. This is so frustrating. The recent reviews for the app are all people with the same issue as I have, yet there are no responses. I would never buy it recommend and Olympus product again.

Olympus/OS systems after sale service= USELESS.

I have 9 Olympus camera / lens products. I emailed info at olympus twice with the same problem and got zero response. The sign of a good company is one who is concerned after you've bought their product. In this respect Olympus or OS systems clearly couldn't care less, their after sales is TOTALLY USELESS.

Terrible customer service

I bought a TG-6 for scuba diving just before lockdown and the Covid pandemic. i couldnt go to Egypt for 3 years as restrictions but also too ill from Covid to dive. so the camera remained boxed until April 2022. I paired it with the app and used it on only 5 dives, but someone cracked the screen when it was in the soak/rinse pool. I sent it to Olympus to be repaired and screen replaced in May 2022, and when it came back I kept it untouched until March 2023 then opened it, and tried unsuccessfully to pair it with the app while i was packing/preparing to go on my annual holiday. I took it to Egypt again and 4 different people (2 professional underwater photographers) also tried to pair it without success. I used it on 6 dives - no wifi on the device. I contacted Olympus and they said to send it repair. I now get an invoice for £160 for the repair - WHICH IS DAMAGE THAT OLYMPUS ITSELF HAS CAUSED. the camera wifi worked fine until Olympus "repair" had it. Customer service refuses to acknowledge. How do I escalate this please? Terrible customer service. How do I make a complaint other than writing online reviews?

Just bought an OM-1 and discovered the…

Just bought an OM-1 and discovered the battery has to be charged in the camera by USB, i.e. no battery charger included. Another £120 for an Olympus charger!!! If you buy an M5 it comes with a charger so why not the same with the more expensive OM-1!!

Also batteries are more expensive then Nikon and Sony!!!

Non-existant Poor Customer Service (0 Flexibiltiy)

My clients are a Solicitors office and they use Olympus recorders and software to dictate and transcript the Solicitors notes. Olympus documentation is very poor in the module required to transcript or dictate. So they purchased the wrong module lic. and when we tried to get this resolved after weeks of speaking to customer support and sales, it was a waste of time and effort to be told that they cannot do anything for us and we need to purchase new (more lic's). Extremely poor service, will never purchase or recommend Olympus to any clients.

Terrible experience, that's the end of my 10 year Olympus/OM relationship

Terrible experience, enough to put you off buying into OM equipment forever. After 10 years of an avid Olympus/OM user and praising their cameras and lenses to many others, my most recent experience has put me right off them.

Like others, they appear to be unable to handle the import taxes issue due to Brexit and you are asked to pay extra before being able to receive the package.
I refused delivery on the lens I ordered and what the following were the events that followed:

- I ordered the lens on the 30th of May
- It arrived within 3 days but I was asked to pay import duty which should not have happened. I therefore refused delivery.
- The package was stuck with UPS for 2.5 months as OM systems failed to contact them to expedite the return.
- I wrote to OM systems about this on the 2nd of June.
- they replied on the 6th of June.
- I replied to thank them for their reply on the 10th of June.
- I then wrote again on the 13th of June requesting an update.
- Then again on the 17th of June.
- Then again on the 13th of July.
- Then again on the 19th of July.
- Then again on the 13th of August.
- I finally got a reply on the 15th of August.
- I got my refund on the 16th of August.

In the meantime, there was an offer on the lens I was after, a £175 rebate. I could not go for it as I was still out of pocket from the original purchase. I was then offered a 20% discount code for my troubles which was less than the rebate, an offer I could no longer take advantage of since the rebate period had expired.

I asked this be escalated since I had spent in excess of £6k over the years on their cameras. I felt that the offer of 20% on their store (excluding all their latest gear) was insufficient for them holding on to over £800 for 2.5 months and failing to get back to me time and time again, not to mention the time and stress caused. The request appears to have fallen on deaf ears since I followed up 3 times on this request and eventually was told nothing more could be done.

I love my Olympus cameras and lenses but I will no longer invest in this system as my experience with their customer service has been awful and I refuse to support a company that treats their customers so badly.

Arrived on time exactly as expected

I ordered the Tough TG-6, with some accessories. I chose it because I needed a waterproof compact and this scored consistently highly in reviews. The tracking information from UPS was not reliable and at one point it said I needed to pay import fee to UK (I didn't) but the company was very responsive in sorting this out.
I haven't tested the camera yet so this is just about the order process.

Purchase at your peril.

I ordered the new TG-6.
It was faulty straight out of the box.
I followed the return instructions to the letter.
Olympus refused to replace the faulty camera instead I have to wait for a refund then re-purchase albeit with a 10% discount.
I am still waiting for the refund which they now say will take 10 days.!!
Totally useless customer service and I will repurchase my Camera but NOT from Olympus direct.
I would rather pay more than deal direct with these people again.
UPDATE: STILL NO RESPONSE FROM OLYMPUS. THEY HAVE HAD MY MONEY FOR 17 DAYS AND I STILL HAVE NO CAMERA.
Update 6th May.
After getting DHL to intervene the camera finally reached OM SYSTEMS. On 4th May. Still no refund or apology from OM SYSTEMS who have had my money since 13th April.
PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS.
Update 12th May. Finally received the refund. NO APOLOGY. NO COMPENSATION. 2 X emails to CEO totally ignored with no response.
I NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

No extra duty at door. NOT.

I ordered a camera on the basis that there would be no more to pay at the door in Tax or duty even though it was sent from Germany.

UPS contacted me to demand £75 for delivery in tax and duty.

I refused delivery that took far longer than promised anyway. Now waiting for a refund despite OM claiming easy returns. Hello UK camera shop..

Dysfunctional, terrible experience!

Olympus camera is now OM Digital Solutions. I ordered a camera upgrade body however I was charged an incorrect price using their online shop. After contacting UK support, I was told to reorder so the correct price could be applied and I would be "instantly" refunded for the original order. Well after 4-weeks I am still waiting for that refund, not so instant! The new, second order gets lost in the UPS delivery network which adds further delay. Once reported to UK support, it takes a further week for them to place a replacement order. To this day, I do not understand why everything takes so long! I am given an explanation "we need to email people, and wait", nothing happens quickly. I am informed the third replacement order will be delivered overnight but due to their incompetence, in particular a company called ARVATO DISTRIBUTION who manage the warehouse place the order on road transport rather than air. I am still waiting for my order 4 weeks later. It's difficult to explain the level of incompetence that leads to miscommunication, delays and lack of issue resolution. My credit card has almost £3K worth of transactions with nothing to show for it, no camera, nothing. Seriously a company that operates this way, especially in todays competitive retail world, will be out of business fast! Sad but true.

Camera aesthetic fault perfectly fixed…

Camera aesthetic fault perfectly fixed in warranty. Shipped from London, it took some time because the repair center is in Portugal (and Brexit). It wasn't a problem for me to wait for about 10 days (travel time) plus 4 days (easy fix). Very satisfied as my E-M5 III looks brand new.

Sent a lens in for repair

Sent a lens in for repair. It's been weeks and it's still in the Uk collection centre , waiting to be sent to Portugal. The repairs are done in Portugal, and not in the UK. Very disapointing service from such a premium brand.

Good binoculars but unfairly refused cashback

The binoculars I received from them are fantastic, well made and function great. They were delivered without issue.

The problem is that they use lies to deny cashback. I bought the binoculars, and still have them. I used no discount codes. These are facts, and I have sent them a picture of the binoculars during the cashback claim. They denied the claim because "order cancelled/returned" which is an outright lie, and then haven't bothered responding in the months since.

Needless to say, I will never order direct from Olympus again, and preferably buy other brands due to the sour taste.

Olympus Pro cameras - think again

Have, over recent years invested a huge sum in Olympus cameras and lenses culminating in me buying their flagship E-M1X, £2800 of camera body plus pro lenses taking the total to £6000. A couple of months into ownership the camera was diagnosed as faulty, no problem had their Pro Service which guarantees a five day turn round for repairs but it doesn’t, took weeks to get the problem resolved.
This week it has developed more faults despite little use due to lockdown and, yet again, they have let me down, took five working days to get the camera collected and who knows when I shall get it back, appalling customer service, terrible repair web pages and they definitely over promise and under deliver.
Plenty of new mirrorless cameras on the market now all with larger sensors so think carefully before investing in Olympus.

I bought a 'tough'

I bought a 'tough', 'waterproof' camera from Olympus a few years ago, which stopped working while on holiday last year. It was out of warranty so I paid Olympus £75 to repair it, and it then sat in a draw until this year's holiday, when it failed immediately and filled with water.
Upon sending the camera to them once more, I was told the camera was beyond economic repair, and they offered me a small discount on a brand new, more expensive version of the camera. Thanks to the original camera not having sufficient build quality, and an ineffective repair, I've missed out on 2 years of holiday photos.
