Nice watch (planet ocean) but Omega seems to have great difficulty in supplying watches with correctly aligned bezels.

Don't buy one - they won't service it!!

I bought a Seamaster Planet Ocean about 10 years ago and have enjoyed the watch generally where it has worked well. I recently (and stupidly) left the valve open before my daughters bathtime and a tiny amount of moisture entered the mechanism. Obviously, my bad, and happy to pay to have the watch serviced and / or repaired. Omega Main Service in London helpfully mentioned that i must not service the watch with anyone else, that it must be done immediately to avoid further damage (for a modest £450) and they can facilitate this in just 24 weeks time at the earliest. Meanwhile my watch should be dismantled and stored with them. Not sure that is the service you expect after you paid £6k in the first place. Should have bought something else clearly.....Presumably with such a backlog they have stopped selling new ones that they can't support....Nope!

Omega Seamaster repair

I have owned by Omega Seamaster (analogue) watch for 18 years, and had it serviced every 4 years.
The watch has kept impeccable time, and as bought from new back in 2004, I have meticulously looked after it.
It has occasionally had swimming pool and sea exposure but nothing too challenging. I did also realise that inadvertently resting my watch on the laptop, as my hand moves, it was slowly scracthing the underside on the strap - needless scratches!
After what I thought my watch battery had elapsed, the usual 5 second sweep rather the analogue 'tick', I took the watch to my local trusted jewellers at Ernest Jones in Milton Keynes. I was told the watch would be sent off as before to Omega, and that it may take 6-8 weeks. A bit long? Anyway, after around 3 weeks I got a call from Omega to say that the watch had, i fact suffered a battery leak and damaged / corroded internal parts which now needed to be manufactured. Instead of the £129 for new battery, the cost would now be around £400! I was a bit shocked by this, but the lady did explain that the watch would of course be fully serviced and cleaned plus new parts made and installed which would be a large part of the mechanism close to the battery.
I gave the go ahead, even though expected time at that stage was 20 weeks!!
It didn't take nearly as long, even though the watch went to Switzerland, and was delivered back to the shop in the UK after around 12 weeks.
It was then explained that the watch had parts specifically manufactured for the watch and that it had been around 40-50% replaced, cleaned and calibrated inside and out. Basically, it looked brand new for a cost of £400, complete with 2 year warranty and fully serviced. The jeweller did say that Omega are one of the only manufacturers not to normally write off a watch because parts are not made, they will manufacture them.
I thought the cost was reasonable for such a major repair, even though it is disappointing to have a battery damage and corrode the watch mechanism, which I would hope will never happen again. I hear from owner forums it does happen occasionally.
I found the experience to be professional, with good communication throughout, the cost was not much higher than a full service which was due anyway, and I have a 'new' watch back without scratches!
This timepiece is with me 24-7 and is my rock every day.
Thank you Omega for a great service!

Brand new watch sent back twice in 3…

Omega Seamaster 300

Brand new watch sent back twice in 3 years for the same issue. Extremely disappointed in the brand. 2x16 weeks waiting for my watch to be repaired, if I could get a refund I would take it in a heartbeat.

I have no confidence in the watch when the warranty expires.

The watch was returned the 1st time with scratches still on. I would of thought as a good will gesture and having the watch for so long that the bracelet would of at least been tidied up.

Probably won't purchase another product from them again.

Bad product - waste of money

I’ve had to have my jeweller send my Omega watch back to Omega for the third time in three years (since new), because it runs slow. Each time Omega say there is nothing wrong. I’ve asked my jeweller whether I can get independent verification because it’s extremely frustrating that I can’t guarantee that my watch will tell the right time, and they’ve said that if someone else services it then it won’t be covered by Omega anymore. We were an Omega family, but none of us will ever buy Omega again. I’m left with a useless watch which cost thousands of pounds, and I can’t sell because I don’t want the buyer to receive a faulty item.
Terrible product and I have no faith in the brand anymore.

Vintage watch broken by service centre

Sent my vintage watch to have the bracelet shortened
5 months later watch arrived - bracelet wasn’t shortened, red marker pen over the watch, clasp snapped off and put in a separate bag, second hand detached and floating in the watch. Still no watch after 8 months as they are supposed to be fixing their mistake - awful customer service

Omega getting worse

Just to follow up on the below, omega use DPD for deliveries and my watch has now been missing 1 week.

AVOID this brand, they use the cheapest couriers which says a lot about them.

OMEGA’s eboutique is VERY VERY BAD

Don’t even know where to start… they’re so bad. My 1st order was delivered late by 5 days. They didn’t even said I’m sorry, until I complained. Then my 2nd ordered was delivered on time, but I had to return the product. That was 3 weeks ago. DHL confirmed they have the return, but I hear nothing from them! (No money back as well, off course. And try to contact them! It’s a nightmare. They don’t reply.
Honestly, the watches are very good, but if you want to buy anything from them, go to a jewellery store. OMEGA’s eboutique is VERY VERY BAD by any standards, which is incomprehensible for a luxury brand!

I left my omega for a service in plenty…

I left my omega for a service in plenty of time to get it back for my honeymoon. I was told it could be up to 10 weeks which seemed excessive but at least would be back in time. It's now going to be at least 12 weeks so that's too late... 3 months to service a 5 year old watch! If I'd known I wouldn't have bothered. Really disappointing service.

Expensive but worth it...

I've received an Omega DeVille as a gift from my father. It still looks fantastic and works great. The customer service is really professional, although quite expensive. I've serviced my watch in Seoul (South Korea) and felt really confident in letting them handle it. The watch itself is over 20 years old.

Difficult customer service

After changing my mind I decided to return my watch, and it was not easy at all. I thought such a big brand name could manage to have a descent after sale service but it was certainly not the case. I had to phone them several times emails them a lot, and I had to organize the return myself. Very disapointing experience. It took me weeks to receive my refund.

DO NOT BUY

DO NOT BUY - Sold as a luxury product but they only believe their watches last 5 years. Spend a little more and get a watch with a lifetime guarantee.

Terrible customer service and terrible…

Terrible customer service and terrible quality. My 6 year old omega watch has has to be repaired twice at a cost of £000’s of pounds - each time the assistant in the omega store said this was because of “intensive use”. It’s a watch, it’s on my wrist, it’s never been dropped or ‘bashed’ against any hard surface. Twice the numbers have fallen off and most recently the bracelet strap has broken. I am so disappointed in the quality and the customer service is dreadful. Very rude and unhelpful staff in the Omega Oxford Street London store.

First class customer service

First class customer service, I have bought numerous models over the years, Seamasters, Speedmasters and a few Planet Oceans, it’s fair to say I’ve had a few!

I had a small issue which required them to send out a replacement, from my initial contact it arrived by DPD within a few days, no quibbling just good honest CS. Nice in this day and age that’s company still believes in ‘nothing is too much trouble’ ethos.

Poor work and a joke of a company

Had my late-1970s watch fully serviced about two years years ago. Just before lockdown the number 9 baton came loose. A local jeweller said it appeared to have been glued on rather than pinioned and they could not confidently fix it. Sent it to Omega for a quote, who said the watch needed a full service at 480 pounds and a face restoration at 795 pounds. 1300 quid to stick a loose baton on that was their own incompetent fault, plus another full service! An absolute joke of a company!

high cost : poor quality

We purchased His and hers Omega watches for each other 40 years ago and have had regular servicing and battery changes as required.
My husband watch stopped and the bracelet quality (integtral to the watch) was appalling. The bracelet snagged and caught in anything it touched but Omega just quoted for a replacement. Same with the workings of the watch. Overall the replacement costs exceeded the value of the watch. We swallowed that at the time some 15 years ago and continued with mine and relative servicing.
Just recently mine stopped completely and i have received a ridiculous quotation for repair which included a service charge as well as full replacement parts for the watch. Why service charge if the watch parts are to be replaced? I couldn’t speak with the person who compiled the quotation, a receptionist, Annabelle, and her customer service manager, Anna. Albeit polite both were patronising and not able to justify the need for replacement. Either I pay for the sake of the ‚sentimental ‚ Value‘ of the watch or pay £18 to have the watch returned to me not repaired.
So history repeated itself!
I will never buy another product and have no faith in quality or cost of their poor customer service.

2 omega watches purchased, 2 watches failed.

I purchased an omega constellation for my wife some years ago, bi metal and with a diamond bezel, within 2 years the watch stopped and was returned to omega and needed a full replacement movement under warranty.
I own an IWC pilot chrono Rolex sea dweller and tag aqua racer and was fortunate to receive an Omega sea master as a 50th birthday gift. the watch was hardly worn, developed a fault whereby the date wouldn't advance and the hour hand wouldn't advance beyond 9pm. omega state is due to the watch requiring a full service, within 4 years of purchase and hardly worn?
2 omegas bought, 2 omegas failed, would certainly advise researching the watch forums for the once prestigious brand of Omega, seems so many bad reviews.
