Worst purchase experience on the internet

Purchased this extension for a client's website but we are not able to install it since it's asking for some credentials which we were not provided.

Since the day of purchase trying to reach out to them but surprisingly there is not even a single response.

I want a refund but how to get it, no clue. If anybody can get help me get a refund, I'll be grateful.

Beware of This Company

I strongly advise against purchasing anything from the company mentioned in this review.

I've had quite a bit of experience with this company. Over the past two years, it has drastically declined in quality. They essentially scam their customers in a disgraceful manner. We don't know why, but I assure you, you'll feel swindled as soon as you start any business relationship with them. Let me explain:

Order placed on February 27, 2024:

OneStepCheckout Magento Community License M2: €485.00
6 months Support and Update Plan: €90.00
As soon as we installed the module, we were immediately confronted with issues. We contacted their worthless support: 0 responses.

The first response I received from this fraudulent company was on July 15, 2024:

I had already sent several requests over the course of 5-6 months. They left us practically without support, with a product full of defects. It doesn't even deserve 1 star; it deserves extinction.

When I realized something was wrong, I immediately canceled the support subscription, otherwise, in a few days, I would have lost more money.

Do not use this extension, ever...

I have been trying to stop their services for 9 months now, support contacted me once saying they were low on sales staff. I contacted them back 1.5 months later, no response. We just received another bill from them 6 months after my last contact. There must be only 1 person working there, some kind of scam they are running looking at the other reviews.

Super unhelpful customer service

Super unhelpful customer service. No reply to emails, no support. Cannot despite what it says on front page, get a refund on the item as terms and conditions contradict the sales story, backed up with fact you can only pay for the checkout with bank transfer (therefore none refundable), credit card (doesn't work, they claim checkout not working when I tried, not inspiring considering that's what they're selling) or direct PayPal payment to their PayPal account (again therefore none refundable). All a big no no when trying to sell items online it makes it look like a suspicious transaction when you can only pay with none refundable methods. On checking their claim on the brands that use their checkouts, many don't, or indeed did before the poor customer service and now use another. Keep well away there are many other very good, and better checkouts out there who actually look after their customers. Despite numerous requests for help and advice none are ever forthcoming. Reading the other comments is not inspiring.

Absolutely shocking customer service, renewed inactive subscription on a non existent website without notification, and when contacted as soon as they took payment, they will not refund, or even consider a refund, totally arogant and completely out of touch with the best business practices, please dont use them, you will regret it and be paying them for years to come for nothing.

Best OneStepCheckout Magento extension I know.

I have been a customer of OneStepCheckout for many years and have already installed, configured and even customized the design and functionality of this Magento extension in numerous Magento online store projects.

OneStepCheckout is the original and unlike its imitators, it offers the highest security in the code and complies with all data protection requirements with maximum quality.

Furthermore, I know one of the founders Jone Eide as well as a developer of this Magento extension and I can only say that they are sympathetic, professional and competent.

This OneStepCheckout Magento Extension has been proven to shorten the checkout process and thus purchase abandonment immensely and is well worth the money. It is a positive factor for an increase in sales.

The extension found its place in various Magento projects like Taschenstore, Grillstyle, regale-guenstig.de, Apendo, Keybook and many more. OneStepCheckout Magento extension is also easy to customize.

I can only recommend this Magento extension for online stores!

Good M2 extension

Good M2 extension - it makes the checkout process simpler than stock magento and is quite enough configurable for our needs. Seems to integrate very well with the base Magento 2 code.

I have no clue about the subscription part other reviewers mentionned - but the Magento 2 extension itself is good in my humble opinion !

Do NOT sign up for OneStepCheckout subscription!

However, Mr Eskil Hadland continued to berate us with emails requesting we pay another full year of subscription PLUS penalties equal to half the amount of the subscription!! We sent the invoice to the email you have provided with us, and you have not updated your email since then, nor have you requested us to update the email for you. The fact that your employee has quit, and your business did not have the necessary routines in place for following up agreements entered by your former employe on behalf of your business, is beyond our control and responsibility.

You cancelled your plan in March 2022, so clearly you had access to your former employee's account on our website.

What you refer to as penalties, are not penalties, but a flat fee mandated by a European Union Directive to cover costs for following up unpaid invoices in commercial transactions. Likewise for the late payment interest.

Furthermore, you paid part of your debt, but you chose to pay in USD, not in EUR, effectively paying even less than the invoice amount, excluding additional costs and late payment fees.

Unfortutately there is nothing we can do to assist you with this issue as of now, and we will consider sending the remainder of your debt to collections.

No notification of subscription renewals. Even if the website is a one page word press website notifying of the closure of the business, they still won't revoke their renewal invoice for a magento extension. Very dodgy and I see many people have been caught.

Subscription scam

As many customers have already written, they don't send out any prior notice of upcoming subscription renewals and they don't want to change this practice. You're only informed after the 1 or 2 year subscription is renewed and even when you react within 2 hours for cancellation there is no leniency. They don't care about customer satisfaction.

Yes, you were a customer, but after your company’s criminal fraud and other actions, we frankly hope we never have any orders from you in the future.

Our Support and Update Plan is a subscription service. Unlike several other services, we do not have a requirement of cancelling multiple days in advance to a renewal, you can cancel at any time until your subscription is renewed.

On the 16th of October 2021 you were charged for the renewal of your subscription, for the period of 2021-10-16 to 2022-10-16.

Furthermore, you claim you contacted us within 2 hours of renewal, but that is not correct.

You contacted us later, requesting cancellation and asked for a refund. Even though you can cancel your subscription at any time via the logged in area on our website, we cancelled your subscription within hours after receiving your request.
Following that, when you did not agree with our policies regarding refunds, you started blackmailing us with threats about filing a fraudulent chargeback.

But you and GhaZoo did not stop there. You acknowledged the legal aspect here, but still felt it was “unfair”. So instead of ending it there, you and your business actually had the audacity to commit credit card fraud.

You falsely claimed to your card issuer that you were charged for something you had already cancelled.

You and your company’s actions are in fact fraudulent and criminal.

And on top of that, you post a review with incorrect information.

In 2018, you signed up for a Support and Update Plan, ensuring that your client had access to support and updates from us. When your plan was renewed according to your agreement with us, instead of contacting us, you reported to your card issuer that the transaction was fraudulent.

This is credit card fraud, as there were authorization and contractual agreement for the charge.

We provided your card issuer with the necessary information.

Following your card issuers assessment of the provided documentation, they ruled the dispute in our favor.

If you are late in paying these fees: Not a friendly reminder, but 40 euros + interest charged and a very unsympathetic administrative employee who is going to threaten you with international prosecution. In general, if you have subscribed to our Support and Update Plan, information about it would have been present multiple times during your purchase process. When you placed your order, it was clearly stated on the page you ordered from that it would be automatically renewed after 12 months. This was also reflected on the page for the Support and Update Plan, which you had in your cart at the time of checkout. In order to finalize the purchase, you also had to actively accept our terms and conditions, where it was stated "OneStepCheckout Support and Update Plan is a subscription based service.".

Furthermore, we notice you complain about the late payment fee. The fee is mandated by the The Late Payment Directive, 2011/7/EU, from the European Union.

If you provide further details about your business, we will be able to look it up and give you a more thorough explanation with dates and documentation.

Absolutely Rubbish. Please do not use them, they will steal from you. I paid for their M1 module then paid for their M2 module to be used on one production website but now they cancelled my subscription that why did I use it on another website of mine even though I stopped using on the first one.

They will also come up with different ways to steal from you. Another big scam they are running is the support plan. Even if you don't use that, they'll just bill you for couple of years and then come to you and ask to pay even interest on that. Yes, you heard me interest that's how low their owner Eskil Hadland is. Absolute disgraceful. I am going to report them to Amex, Visa, Master card, Paypal and other authorities.

Their reviews on facebook are disclosing them too.

In January 2021, we contacted Zed Traders Pty Ltd, ABN 61 634 627 393, registered with ABN on 2019-07-03, your new Australian company, operating on the domain a2zdeals.com.au. This company has never been a customer of ours, and has never at any time held a license for using our software.

You (personally) correctly stated you had purchased a license a couple of years earlier, using your account. However what you failed to acknowledge, was that this license was purchased for Global Treats Australia Pty Ltd (needoftheday.com.au), ABN 70 168 897 327, a company which was dissolved 2019-08-28 some months after the purchase.

At the time Global Treats Australia Pty Ltd (needoftheday.com.au) ceased to exist as a legal entity, so did the license agreement also cease to exist.

We informed you of this. When you realized your copyright infringement didn't work out well for you, you resorted to other methods, questioning our business ethics (well you should perhaps look into your own morale, copying other's software for the purpose of your own company's benefit without paying for it is illegal and highly questionable), name calling et cetera.

We are still considering legal actions against both your business and you personally, as you are directly responsible for the copyright infringement.

Good extension, but beware of the automatic subscription to ongoing support fees

Hi,

Good review for the actual product, not happy with the automatic subscription sign up - although good to see you are not forcing it on purchasers of the M2 version.

I've just received a letter/invoice (500002286) demanding payment for a support and update plan for OneStepCheckout for M1. Not only that, you've also seen fit to charge interest on top of that.

This is the first I have heard of it, so why you are adding interest on top i have no idea.
Besides using your website for tips during the initial setup of the extension when it was first purchased, i don't believe we have used your support services.
Checking version numbers, there does not appear to have been any updates to OneStepCheckout for M1 since we purchased it.
We never sign up for installation/support with extensions so I'm not sure why you think we have agreed to anything beyond what's included with the initial purchase.

Actually digging a little further i think i see why you would think that, it would appear that your purchase process doesn't give an option not to be enrolled into your ongoing subscription - not sure if that's legal (it probably is or you wouldn't be doing it i guess), but it's certainly pretty shady.

It would appear that you've disappointed quite a few people with this practice looking at online reviews on Trustpilot, Facebook etc

Digging a little further again, i see that the M2 version has a different purchase process - it allows you to choose whether you want to be subscribed to the support plan or not.

I've been pretty happy with the extension in the past year and was about to upgrade/rebuy it for use on our Magento 2 version of our website which is due to launch soon. I see that the M2 version is almost twice the price of the M1 version, and with your current demand for another 160 euros for something we we unaware of, haven't used and have no plans to use in the coming 12 months will now have to think carefully about whether that's a good option.

I'd appreciate your thoughts/comments.
