I love this site a lot, and honestly, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to make money from the comfort of their home! Bonus points if you already love reading for fun!

I have worked with OnlineBookClub.org since May 2023, and I love it. Their guidelines are strict but easy to get the hang of. I also get free books to read while being paid to review them. Plus, their support team is always available if you have any issues with your account.

I have asked this company on 3 occasions to take me off their mailing list. Nothing. So now I'll ask them publicly. Get me off your mailing list. And, for all those of you who haven't used their service, don't bother. I tried and the reviewer couldn't even write English properly so.......

The people who created this really care about their clients. That alone is terrific!!!

What I have found is a lack of control over your reviewer so that they can lie about a book with no repercussions or redress whatsoever. And that may be because of using a quid pro quo system. When I pay $400 to have my book reviewed, I expect a quality review nd not a hatchet job, as was done by the last reviewer because she did not like what I had to say about her particular religion. Therefore, she proceeded to beat my book up. This type of review, which was purely out of spite, does not reflect kindly on your business and how it is run.

Everybody was very helpful in straightening out an error I made in wanting to promote a book. Response was quick and helpful.

Helped me get my first book into the hands of readers and reviewers. However some readers put heaps of effort into reading my book, whilst it’s obvious some don’t and just make things up that are just not there! Hoping the book club improves the screening process to accept only valid reviews as our author’s reputation are on the line! PLUS PACKAGES offered come at a price, which takes me along time to save the money as a struggling author.

The site is complicated to navigate. Everything goes back to reading and reviewing the guidelines. There's no actual person to speak with or email with. If you've read them multiple times and still need clarification and help, you can't speak to anyone which becomes frustrated. I love to read and wanted to try reviewing book to make a bit of cash. My first review was for $75 which would've come in handy for me. I completed the book and wrote a review. I made sure it followed the guidelines. I submitted it and there was an issue. I reviewed and fixed it. Suddenly my review was plagiarized and AI. I vehemently denied these claims and told them that my very first submitted review would attest to that including why they thought it was AI. They refused and stood by their decision. The fact that these are level 6 reviewers and our "peers" should speak for something, but they just seem very elitist and non compromising or helpful. The fact they tell you that once you've tried to appeal that you should just take it as a learning experience is very telling. I will not be using this site again and reporting it.

I joined onlinebookclub.org a while back to get a little much needed extra money. I review books already through Goodreads and Amazon for free and have a book blog so it was an easy fit. The guidelines are quite strenuous and despite writing very well written reviews I had to jump through many hoops to get them approved and get paid. The process was quite long. Despite this, I did get $25 for my first review. Later, in January or February of 2025, I downloaded 2 more books and did reviews. It took until April or May to finally get them approved but then it wouldn't pay out because it said I needed to verify my identity. I tried it multiple times and it said that I already did it. I contacted support and they told me it was fine. When it wasn't resolved I contacted again sending screenshots as I did before but was told to video it... I use my phone to review and can not do that which I explained before and there was not any more info to be gained from a video as the screenshots showed everything. I then started getting emails supposedly from the owner of the organization who is trying to sell his new book offering a subscription to his page for $1 and the ability to get my account verified for payment also there was something about ordering his book for an opportunity to advance in ranks but they wanted a crazy number of reviews per week plus the cost to buy this person's book. It all started sounding very fishy. I am currently trying to delete my account with them but I cant even do that! Overall, not worth the time or energy and they are trying to get money from reviewers.

Even though, I was disappointed with the initial outcome of the review of my book, Scott Hughes has shown that he truly cares about each and every author that his platform
reviews.He is a man of integrity and will do as much as possible to help authors promote their books.

Online Book Club performs a needed service!

I got a recommendation from this company to purchase a book from Amazon, review it and they would pay $13 as compensation for my time. I did that, followed their review guidelines and submitted my review within 2 weeks. After submission, they claimed my review was written by AI which it wasn't because I read that book from cover to the end and reviewed it myself. They scored me 0 due to 4 grammatical errors noticed in my review. If I had use AI to write the review like they claimed I did, would the editor have noticed a grammatical error. I requested a recheck but they don't care. I requested an admin recheck but that didn't do anything because I thought that would take some time but they got back to me same day repeating the same thing the editor wrote. It's unfair. The website is deceitfully manipulating users by promising to pay for "honest" reviews. Review permission is required for payment, and the approval criteria are arbitrary and purposefully ambiguous. A system that is biased against critical reviews is produced as a result. 40% of the review acceptance is based on the "Editor's subjective rating," according to the website. Reviews may be disqualified based on subjective judgments rather than impartial standards, which introduces an additional, blatant degree of arbitrariness.

Wonderful work. I couldn't believe how easy it was

I was excited to be able to make money with my love of reading. I chose a book that I did not enjoy reading and left a very in depth review and they flagged me for plagiarism with use of AI and banned my account. I have never read any published reviews and everything was my own words. I also did not use AI and requested them to check it again to receive the same outcome. If you try this company my warning is you are wasting your time, you will not make money.

I proofread novels and assist writers in their adventures from writing to promoting their novels, this is my first experience with onlinebookclub.org and I'm very satisfied with their commitment and dedication to reviewers, I received my payment as promised and on time, I'm sure this will be the beginning of a long collaboration.
