AVOID Chiswick as a seller

AVOID Chiswick as a seller. The admission system for sellers is outrageous- arrived at 5:30am and crawled along until 8:15 to be told sorry no space left. They have no idea how many vehicles fit on they’re grounds & you cannot pre book so no guaranteed space. If you like wasting time this is the booty to do. Don’t ruin the weekend, pre book one or go to a larger site.

Scam site

This site must be a scam as I just went onto register and was sent an email to confirm the registration, which most places do , so I did. Then I was asked to set up a stall, entered date, thankfully clicked on to sell only 10 items as its free and did not enter any card details. Then it asked me to click on an ad stating 'ACTIVATE' to further activate my account. Very odd and looked suspicious so I didn't continue. Definitely scam. Do not part with your money and those reviews that state they sold something are obviously to trick you.

I have used this site for both buying…

I have used this site for both buying and selling, I have bought some great items and was happy with the price. I have also listed quite a few items as im a VIP member and can list whatever i like for ever. I have sold not loads but enough to pay for my VIP membership. I see that some people moan about this site saying that they can't sell anything, but it depends on what your trying to sell and your price,, Remember it a boot fair and not everyone will want to buy everything..

They are a bunch of con artists..or maybe not

They are a bunch of con artists , I am not even sure they actually exist !!! Maybe even the names of people who do look at your items are made up because has anyone ever actually had a sale here ? I had a stall a few weeks back and paid via paypal for a table cloth ..I asked and asked where it was but never got it .....that first week lots of people viewed my stuff , I had several messages of interest I replied and poof !! never heard another word from them ...the next week I stuck safely to a free site just to sell ten items and only had about one view .....but right now it is really hard to sell anything anywhere so I took a risk and paid £5 for a bigger stall for tomorrows sale but though Paypal agree I did , online car con say I do not have a stall booked for tomorrow !!! I went to their Facebook page ,....would you believe , there are TONS of likes on lots of recycled ads for the site but absolutely NO comments about peoples experiences using it , I left a message in Facebook chat and they appeared and said they would get back to me soon ...and now they have suddenly vanished offline altogether..give it a go with the free 10 items stall but do not make the mistake I have of paying for extra until they have proven themselves to you with results

** well, I have my table , so let's see what happens next if anything **

Easy to use

I have been listing on this site for the last 4 weeks and have been adding new items each week. Have had no interest and hardly any views *this week over 30 for sale only 6 have had anyone click on them).
Week after week other sellers have had the same items for sale, so they aren't making many sales either.

The idea of the site is great and very easy to use. Just download you pictures, choose a category, write a short description add a price hey presto all done.

I have heard that other users are very friendly. I can't say as no- one has messaged me yet.

I am keeping my fingers crossed and hope 'Carbooty' will do well in the future.

Online Car Booty - UK Car Boot Sale

I've been buying and selling on this site for a few months now.. it's fairly new but getting busier all the time. Some weeks I do really well, some weeks not so much. I like the concept of the site and how friendly members are so I do recommend it.

I have a disability so the site is ideal as I rarely get out to the real thing. They also offer free stalls for charity sellers. For me it's one of the best car boot sales due to its convenience.

The site displays items on a virtual paste table and there's deliberately no search, so it's pot luck just like a real car booty. It's open 24/7 but new stalls start every Sunday at 3pm.

If you're looking for alternatives to Ebay then this online car boot sale is worth a try. Its a unique site and with time should flourish.
