Still not compensated for last minute cancelle stay

I have documented my booking with our habitas on trustpilot (see previous comments) and chased the Manager of the resort for some compensation as following the hotel’s last minute cancellation of our booking we had twelve hours to come up with an alternative. There were no other desert hotels in Qatar so we flew to Muscat which meant paying for two flights and two Omani visas; I feel at a minimum Our Habitas should cover these costs. If I had cancelled our room with no notice I would have forfeited my money!

The Manager Mr Mohammed Wazir did email and promised to get back to me regarding compensation needless to say I have heard nothing further. I have emailed this gentleman twice since our return and he refuses to respond.

I would suggest you never book anything with Our Habitas they took our booking and money then cancelled last minute leaving us in the lurch; so far they have refused to compensate us for their cancellation. This is out of order and whilst the hotel refunded our room rate we incurred 2 x £179 flights and two visas at £79 for Oman.

Overpriced and neglected – avoid this place

Our stay at Our Habitas Namibia was an enormous letdown. The photos and descriptions online are completely misleading, and what we walked into felt more like a run-down dormitory than a premium lodge.

The tented room was in terrible condition – it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all before we arrived. The walls were dirty, the zippers broken, leaving gaping holes in the mesh, and paint marks were carelessly left behind from rushed touch-ups. The restaurant food was subpar, and several of the advertised amenities don’t even exist – for example, no sunbeds by the pool, even though they’re shown in pictures.

We’ve stayed in other tented accommodations across Namibia – all were far more comfortable and well-kept, even at a fraction of the price. This place is shockingly overpriced for what it offers, and nothing about it justifies the cost.

If you’re looking for an authentic, relaxing, or high-quality stay – look elsewhere. There are countless better lodges in Namibia, even at 5x lower prices, that provide a much better experience

My Experience at OurHabitas

Unfortunately, my time at OurHabitas was far from positive. The company lacks proper management, structured systems, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), making the work environment chaotic and inefficient.

Discrimination and favoritism are prevalent, which creates an unwelcoming and biased atmosphere for employees. Additionally, salaries are significantly lower than industry standards, and there are no clear opportunities for professional growth or career advancement.

I believe organizations should prioritize fairness, professionalism, and employee well-being, but sadly, this was not my experience at OurHabitas. I hope the company takes these issues seriously to improve for the benefit of its future workforce.
