Recently I've invested in a number of OX tools and a large OX toolbox. The toolbox is great, well made and robust (and the bright blue color makes it stand out). The screwdrivers I Bought as a set are superb too, they have been very well used but have retained their edges and the color coded handles are useful too. I will be buying more OX Tools.
Unreliable tools. No customer support for spare parts.
"I’m afraid we don’t have replacement parts for the tool, and we have discontinued the tool, so I’m very sorry to say that we won’t be able to send a replacement part or replacement tool on this occasion
Sincere apologies for the inconvenience"
Had to give these 1 star to start the review but should be -5 !! Disgraceful company selling rubbish on Amazon , send stuff back they claim haven’t received and take your money !!! Don’t get ripped off don’t buy !!! Bank informed !!
Bought an ultraflex trowel (not cheap). After just over a year (conveniantly just out of warranty), I got it out and two of the corners had bowed out. Looks like some sort of foam pushing out between the face and the baseplate. I imagine it's whatever cheap adhesive foam tape they use to stick them together.
Customer service said they'd never seen the issue before, and that it was my fault for the way I stored it. They had no info on how I stored it, so I found that interesting to blame the customer with zero information. Couldn't help because it was 3 months out of warranty. No apology.
Will avoid and recommend others avoid. Go for Marshalltown or other brand in future. Happy to spend my hard earned bucks with another company.
Product itself worked brilliantly before it deformed. A simple apology and maybe an offer of a discount code for the same item (not even looking for a replacement, maybe just a small gesture of goodwill?) and I would've been over the moon and continued to purchase/recommend their products. Nevermind!
Utter rubbish dangerous tools do not use . They are poorly made and could cause a very serious accident. Also this company will not honour there guarantee… I have had big problems with this company before. They are rude !
Bought a pair of tin snips from Galaxy Inulation and to say they rubbish is an understatement, they are useless.
Even from brand new they're not good, so a tip from a grid ceiling fixer DO NOT BUY THEM.
I would assume they are the same for the whole range, AVOID them like the plague!
bought 4 ox tapes 5 mtr
they last about a month then stopped working
jammed up / would not retract/ tape blade snapped /
tape end snapped flew back whipped round and caught me with the snapped end in a place a man does not want to be caught
emailed customer care holding my breath but based on the trust pilot reviews dont thing it will do any thing
I have 100s of euros spent on Ox products and was happy until I had a problem with the extensions and adaptor , it seems being Irish or at least purchasing in Ireland is a handicap as if there needs to be a warranty repair it’s really difficult due to customs charges on replacements , this is where I was passed onto Ox irelands agent who’s seems like a really nice guy and promised to resolve all my problems but a week later nothing . So I’ve decided to cut my losses and try another brand over all the tools are good but the extension pole and adaptor aren’t fit for purpose Crowley plastering .
First of all I'd like to say how refreshing it is for a company to be as attentive as they was, to such a small customer. I was struggling to obtain the speedskim end caps from any distributer . After a short email to ox , they resolved this problem I had very quickly and no cost to me at all, even after I insisted I pay for replacements. Thanks Nancy Diaz a pure asset to the customer service department. I love the whole range of tools and this has gave me even more confidence in the brand .
Having previously purchased some Oxtools equipment and liked the quality I went ahead and purchased their Heavy Duty Knee Pads. However I am now less than impressed. The straps do not hold the pads firmly in place and because of the raised hard rubber surface your knees tend to immediately slip/fall away from being square to the centre of the pad. They actually end up hampering your work as the pads are forced to the side. (This is actually is a problem with some other manufacturers as well.) Something for Ox to work on! I don't currently recommend these pads.
I have quite a few OX tools and they've been pretty good overall however I have an issue with the pro levels - two of them are faulty. Luckily I bought these items as OX have a lifetime guarantee... unfortunately they won't honour it....
'Customer Services' are advising me to take it back to the retailer (Amazon) who unsurprisingly won't take it back as it's an OX issue and outside normal returns. Despite a really clear policy on their website saying I can return it direct to them, they won't do this, Instead they expect me to drive for an hour to take it back to another reseller... So disappointed and this is now the last OX tool i'll be buying. Why offer a guarantee if you won't honour it and why sell such unreliable tools in the first place
