Very poor customer service
We're due to visit Lossiemouth unfortunately my wife had tests for the big C whilst we should've been on holida (not something you leave on the shelf for next week) Obviously this meant we couldn't cancel within the required the time to obtain a refund. We requested a deferral of the holiday to enable my wife to get some respite whilst undergoing treatment after the worst diagnosis. POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS Whilst they offered there best wishes to my wife unfortunately they rejected our polite request. Such a shame as our family live just a few miles away and we would've used this site numerous times a year over the next decade or so.
BED BUGS !!!!!!!!!
Bitten To Hell By Bed Bugs !!!!!!!!! !!
Rubbish small caravans
Lumpy beds
Stayed in LV 74 van
Went to Marlie 1st luxury lodge
Went to Marlie luxury lodge
1st September for 4 days walked into lodge smelt of dog pee. The whole lodge smelt of dogs. The toilet seat was hanging off on on suite mold in shower, not a luxury lodge at all, complained carpet washed which made smell worse, complained again no one interested. So went home. Actually told good you are going home early we can sort the van out. Also no swimming pool as advertised we swim every day on holiday been to Marlie twice before. Never again. Will never use park holidays again feel really let down by them.
Unfortunately you have to give even one…
Unfortunately you have to give even one star just to start the review. Had a party of six for a weekend stay at seawick clacton Essex. Caravan sleeps 10 people. However the caravan which is meant to be a gold plus was more like something that they should take off the site. It’s meant to be pet friendly but certainly wouldn’t take a dog there unless you want your dog invested with fleas. I didn’t take a dog but was told that that’s all they have for a 10 sleeper. I’ve been staying at seawick and st oyths park holidays sites for 30plus years and certainly wouldn’t be going back in a hurry after our last visit there. The caravan smells bad and I mean very bad, fleas in every room kick board in the kitchen not fixed correctly sharp edges on the sofa area one of the mattresses has a rip along the seams exposing the inside. Two of my party left within the first 24hrs due to the flea invested caravan and everyone getting bitten by FLEAS. All the pet friendly caravans should be fumigated and defleaed between each letting. Avoid caravan 73r what was meant to had been a short break to spend time away with family who I don’t see much off but ended as a complete disappointment instead. Certainly won’t recommend seawick park to family and friends. A part or full refund should be given
Really enjoyed our holiday at Rye…
Really enjoyed our holiday at Rye harbour, clean and fresh caravan All amenities and a special thanks to Maz and Ruth who cleaned our unit before we arrived, and a special thanks to Jesse at reception who dealt with us, and to the rest of the staff in the bar and office and on site. Definitely will be coming back. Keep up the good work! All the best Julie and Clive.
To be fair the lodge at barnstable was…
To be fair the lodge at barnstable was very clean the site was well kept and the staff were very polite, Unfortunately they advertised super fast wifi in our lodge which Upon arrival couldn't get anything until I rang reception to find it's £18.95 for the week Which reluctantly i purchased to find that it doesn't work on the tv, Just gadgets, We wanted to watch utube and bbc I player etc anyway we got our money back, The other annoying thing is the heating with a mind of its own including an electric fire and on the day of leaving nothing, No hot water No electric fire no central heating, We are just back 26th September and the nights and morning were very cold, I think they may have some timers on all the heating etc and turned the lot off the day we left.
Great for the dog
Great for the dog
Good experience
Caravan Matt All my needs
Brilliant staff let down by poor site and facilities
We stayed at Golden Sands in Dawlish Warren. Didnt get off to a good start. The lane leading to the top entrance to the park was only wide enough for one car, but no 'one way' sign so it was chaotic even getting in. Had to reverse three times - plenty of time to see the rubbish all over the road which was carried on in the park itself, with rubbish strewn all over the grassed areas and dog mess in several places. Watched someone strimming and bits of crap cut up into smaller pieces.
We stayed in a Gold Plus caravan - paid £1200 for a week to be greeted by cig butts in front - furniture old and worn, no vacuum or means of cleaning ourselves - caravan smelt moldy, was dirty with cup rings on coffee table and tacky surfaces. Dog mess in several places around the site. Playground was old and worn.
Pavilion and swimming were excellent and staff were brilliant everywhere - but let down by facilities
Absolutely out of this world
Absolutely out of this world. Everything was beautiful. Staff were fantastic. Very clean and amazing facilities. Would definitely recommend and will b booking again 100%
They are so terrible because they don’t…
They are so terrible because they don’t do there job properly they keep changing the policy and it says on google that ur meant to be 18 or over and they say for every park holidays its meant to be over 20 when its not true and they don’t do things in time I waited for so long for the bin bag for my bin when they say they are coming ASAP .
I am writing to express my concern…
I am writing to express my concern about the poor condition of our accommodation during our recent stay at your holiday park. The unit was extremely dirty, with dog fur everywhere the bed was not clean at all and underwear left under the bed from previous guests. Additionally, the shower flooded the bathroom and living room Despite several calls to reception, our issues were . Having taken many caravan holidays over the years, this has been our worst experience. I would like to escalate this complaint to your head office to ensure future guests do not face similar unhygienic conditions.
Birchington vale holiday park
Booked Birchington vale holiday park, it was great especially Liam who was entertaining kids. Highly recommend.
Gold Plus caravan is not the best
We booked a Gold Plus caravan for 6 people with outside decking. We thought Gold Plus would be a bit special, we were very wrong. Only one toilet between 6 people, no dishwasher, not enough kitchen cupboard space for 6 peoples food etc. The outside decking came with a small wooden table and 4 chairs, again for 6 people. We were very disappointed. Tarka Park. Also there is no way of leaving the park without a car as there is a very fast dual carriage way outside the park and there is no footpath. The Tarka trail can be reached by car, but not by walking.
If you value your belongings and expect…
If you value your belongings and expect even basic customer service – avoid park holidays and especially Broadland sands at all costs.
This is without doubt the worst caravan site I have ever stayed at, and that is saying something. Not only did we have a disappointing stay, but the way we were treated afterwards was absolutely shocking.
We unfortunately left behind an expensive washbag containing items worth over £500. Accidents happen, but what matters is how a business deals with it afterwards. We phoned the site as soon as we realised, expecting at least some effort to help us recover the bag. Instead, we were met with nothing but excuses and lies.
• First we were told the person who could deal with it was on their day off.
• The next time, apparently they were on holiday.
• Another staff member then claimed that person simply “couldn’t be located.”
• On several occasions we were promised a call back that never came.
Six days later, after chasing repeatedly, we have still not had a single call back or any sign of accountability. Every staff member we spoke to passed the buck, told a different story, or brushed us off completely. It honestly feels like they couldn’t care less.
The attitude towards customers here is DISGUSTING. They are quick to take your money but the moment there’s a problem they vanish, deny responsibility, and leave you to deal with the loss. The lack of basic courtesy, communication, and professionalism is staggering.
We are now left over £1000 out of pocket and with the clear impression that our belongings were either not looked for properly or simply “disappeared.” Either way, the site clearly doesn’t care.
I would strongly advise anyone considering booking here to think twice. There are plenty of caravan sites that not only respect their customers but also have staff who actually understand what customer service means. Sadly, this is not one of them. Once I spoke to a ‘manager’ he informed me i would be calling him to apologise when I find it and this has happened before!
I will also be escalating this matter further with Trading Standards and the holiday park’s head office, as this kind of neglect and complete lack of accountability is unacceptable.
Avoid booking with park holidays…
Avoid booking with park holidays especially wood farm in dorset.
Accommodation not up to standards , dirty, dead flys behind curtsins, ants, broken toilet seats, no blind in kitchen, no tv in bedroom. we was meant to have a platinum caravan but it was more like a bronze
manager is a disgrace vile women who thinks it ok to point in a 83 yr old ladies face. Avoid avoid avoid.
I did not enjoy this park at all
I did not enjoy this park at all. The day we went he missed the characters so we were told 1 one will be out the next day at 6:15 and there wasn’t it’s a disgrace you say that to show everyone nothing I am going loopy from the tiny staff not even 4 people to be the characters I am about to prickle my way back home
AVOID, MY KID FOUND CLASS A DRUGS
Avoid seawick !! unsafe, high drug use, full baggy of class A's found. Not suitable for families.
After booking I went back to check if I could have a BBQ, then read reviews about drugs, drug taking, violence etc etc.
I contacted the head office who reassured me and then spoke to the site who also reassured they aren't aware of the reviews like this and they don't know about drug use etc.
The caravan I couldn't fault, they left chocolates and teddies as a gesture of my consern... Oh but wait. Literally after throwing our bags in and going for a walk to the club house and within 50 meters of the kids park one of my daughter's asked what's this... It was a bag of Meth. Large white crystals. I was in absolute shock.
I took it to reception and explained you gave all these reassurance and my kids find this.. what if it was my toddler....
All you get is basic spill of we can't control what people bring etc etc. our choice to leave if we want... Right but I had planned a week of visiting friends and family who all reside in Essex, months of planning... No space anywhere else so we had no choice but to use the caravan as just somewhere to sleep.
Request a partial refund knowing we stayed there (albeit cut our holiday short once visits where done) got a big fat no no.
Lack of security everywhere. (2 bouncers)
No patrols
Marijuana smell everywhere
Class A drugs found (I do have pictures)
I believe they are fully aware of what goes on here, wouldn't suprise me if you have a few caravans selling drugs to people here. With the very short 5 minutes visited at 3am by a rumbling motorbike... But if you ask the site is just food delivery or just eat. I feel it's known and swept under the rug all until something terrible really happens that could have been avoided.
If you've booked here don't bother.
St Osyth beach resort, Excellent location, Poor execution
The site is situated in a a nice areas, has plenty to do for small children and is closed to Clacton pier so you could walk or drive and have even more fun. The food is overpriced but decent, you seem to get smaller portions during the week compared to the weekend but this could be down to the chefs on duty. Biggest problem is the state of the site and systems used on site. You are asked to sign a waver for any damage done to your caravan while you stay, in itself a smart idea until you realise that they do not keep good upkeep of the site or caravans, we had 2 caravans booked 1 which on arrival had cutlery, a wine glass, grill handle and the key to the caravan sitting just inside the unlocked door, there was no grill pan, no baking trays and no shelves in the oven. The second caravan had poo stains in the toilet and an unclean sink. We took photos of all the damage in the caravans to ensure no costs or damage were attributed to us. During the stay I stepped out of caravan #2 and the steps came loose and re-agrivated a shoulder injury with my having to grip for safety for reference in a 100kg man, later this day after fixing the steps myself my niece ( 40kg) fell down these same stairs due to them being loose and grazed her leg badly but as it was 18.05 the reception was closed and the night wardens weren't taking phonecalls and then turned their phone off. As we were sorting things out to vacate today 25th August 2025 the steps completely came off one side sending her flying again and causing more damage. We again tried to call the wardens as reception wasn't open and we're told we would need to wait due to him now finishing. We attended the reception at 08:50 and were made to wait outside for the 9am opening. At 08:55 the warden turns up and when my sister in law tried to explain what is happening she was ushered out by the warden getting in her face. She is 5ft1 he is 6ft3-6ft5 and stuff the door before I could intervene. When we get in we then had to assist them to complete an incident report although she refused to look at the damage on my niece's leg or ask about if a medic would be needed knowing full well this newest damage has just happened. We then completed the incident report with them where 2 male employes came through and pretended to look in a book while taking clear notice of our group and 1 coming down to check about a "gas bottle request" that hadn't been asked for in order to make his presence known. The receptionists were offering all people returning their keys a 15% voucher when they leave a trust pilot review but seemed to forget when it came to us so I said I would be ensuring I leave a review. Upon returning to caravan #2 50 minutes after reporting the massive damage I held the steps so the kids to get out of the caravan and the remaining bolt came off leaving the steps completely disconnected. We were lucky that more extensive injuries weren't incurred in and around the caravans where there are dozens of cigarette butts outside (noone in our party smokes and there are no signs for speed limits meaning staff and visitors alike are doing 15-20 mph around the site with kids walking up and down the paved areas. I wouldn't just say avoid this site I would say avoid park holidays completely as it's only a matter of time before a serious injury occurs and they will need to be held accountable
Broadland sands thumbs down from me
Paid over 1half grand for luxury lodge 3 bed. Five in our group not enough cutlery, no bottle opener or corkscrew. Pillows were like tissue paper they were that thin.
The smell from cesspit was absolutely horrendous
Bins overflowing, All over the site
Prices for drinks and food were extortionate definitely wouldn't go go back
Went on weekend break to Carlton meres…
Went on weekend break to Carlton meres caravan park in a camping pod ,arrived late afternoon and only one toilet had toilet paper and the floors in the shower/toilet block were all dirty and very wet ,the toilets were not cleaned or toilet paper replenished until 10.30 the next morning ,surely they should have been cleaned very early in the morning .The camp itself is not bad but the evening entertainment for the kids was terrible ,I know the young people in charge on the stage are just typical of todays youth and can’t be bothered but it’s not cheap to go on these sites and it would be nice to have some participation from
The staff instead of relying on a screen and when they announced the crazy crew were coming I at least expected someone in a costume or staff on the stage leading the children in some participation but no ,nothing just a youngster playing music for musical statues or other such things for way too long to hold the kids attention and then picking a winner from the children eagerly awaiting a prize without once looking up from whatever she was looking at to choose a candidate ,we have been to other parks within the group with very good children’s entertainment but if you are looking for this for the kids avoid Carlton Meres. The swimming pool is good but the swimming sessions are very short and we were told this was so the pool and changing rooms could be cleaned down between sessions but there was no cleaning of changing rooms
during our sessions and the floors were dangerously wet and dirty but on a previous visit late season a couple of years ago this was done religiously after each session .
