Park Plaza - Park Royal London

We had a short break stay at the Park Plaza which I would highly recommend for value for money as the rooms and service from staff is Excellent. Nina and her colleagues are friendly, helpful and so professional.
The beds are clean and very comfortable. Free WiFi for guests. The restaurant has a good menu selection. Can’t wait to return!! Thanks so much.

Park Plaza London Waterloo

Park Plaza London Waterloo, 6 Hercules Road, London, SE1 7DP
I booked two rooms for the 5th December - a double for one person, and a twin bedded room for two people. When we tried to check in at 17.00 we were left waiting at the check-in desk for more than 30 minutes. We were not offered an explanation for the delay, nor were we given a coffee whilst waiting. When we got to the rooms the twin bedded room was still not ready, and it was another half an hour or so before this happened.

Park Plaza Riverbank - London

My stay was not a good experience, with several causes for complaint:

1) The bathroom looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in a year:
a. The shower glass was so dirty you can’t see through it.
b. The shower floor was so dirty I was concerned I’d catch something from it.
c. Grout and sealant in and around the shower was old, dirty and pealing.
d. The shower head isn’t adjustable (I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel with a fixed shower head).
e. The toilet seat was broken; one of the hinges was completely loose making use of it a haphazard experience.
f. The room air con doesn’t extend into the bathroom, meaning it gets ridiculously hot in there with the door closed.
2) The room was right next to the lifts. This makes it a really noisy room to be in due to people congregating outside the door and chatting loudly (very loudly in some cases). Added to this, every time someone pushed the lift button it lets out a shrill, high pitched noise that cuts through the walls, door and people’s soul.
3) That wasn’t the only noise disruption. Unfortunately, the room also provided random loud ‘clacking’ sounds that I couldn’t identify.
4) Added to that, the extremely loud sound made whenever neighbours flush their toilet; a disturbing whooshing and drain gurgling sound!
5) On top of all of that racket, the use of memory foam mattress toppers makes the bed extremely hot and sticky to sleep in despite an otherwise cool room.
6) I’d like to point out how friendly and helpful all of the front of house staff are, they do a great job. That is, with one significant exception, unfortunately. When I got back to the hotel in the evening, knowing the room was noisy and being too tired to do much about it, I asked the lady on reception if she could supply me with some ear plugs. She said she’d have housekeeping bring some up in a few minutes (having specifically asked me if I planned to go to sleep soon after I reach the room and me confirming I was planning to do that). No housekeeping came.
7) As a result of all of the above I had what is probably the worst nights’ sleep I’ve ever had.

Despite emailing the hotel with my complaint, i've received no response from anyone after several days. really disappointing!

Cold, noisy, awful night

My recent stay at the Park Plaza Nottingham in room 917, during the chilly month of December, was unfortunately disappointing. One of the primary issues was the location of the room, which is directly above a lively nightlife area. The noise from the street was quite pronounced and persisted late into the night, disrupting the peace and quiet I had hoped for in my accommodation.
The most pressing concern, however, was the room's temperature. With the central heating turned off, the room was exceedingly cold, which was particularly uncomfortable given the winter weather. The lack of any option to adjust the heating within the room itself was a significant inconvenience.
In addition to these discomforts, the room's television would automatically turn off every ten minutes. This recurring interruption was an added frustration during my stay.
Overall, my experience at the Park Plaza, particularly in room 917, was far from what I had anticipated. The combination of the external noise, the uncomfortably cold room temperature, and the faulty television significantly detracted from the overall quality of my stay.

Unprofessional people! waste of time/money!

The service that we have received is totally shocking unprofessional and being told many lies!. We have been trying to contact by email and we also called since 21st November 2023 as we have reservations booked for hotel for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and we wanted to book restaurant for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve as we will be staying at the hotel, no one has replied back to our emails and we have sent many emails! we have also sent this morning a complaint again! by email and no one has still got back to us. This has caused us nothing but stress and upset. This is going to ruin our Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel as their complaints procedure and the people in charge for booking the restaurants are shockingly unprofessional, and we have no reply whatsoever!.

If I could give a minus one I would

If I could give a minus one I would. We got to the hotel a bit early and the receptionist told us the room wasn’t ready yet. We had requested a twin room. She said there was one with a sofa bed but that wasn’t the nicest. We went to the bar for a coffee until it was ready. My son went down to get the key.
When he returned he said we had been upgraded. I went to the room to change. To be honest I didn’t take much notice as I didn’t have much time. The room looked ok with a double bed and a single one.
On our return later my friend and I sat up talking till the early hours. Eventually we went to sleep.
The mattress on the double bed was like sleeping on the floor it was so hard and the single turned out to be the sofa bed which the receptionist had told us was not suitable or comfortable which was why she was giving us an “upgrade”. My poor friend was laying on a mattress which was about 2” deep which didn’t protect her from the metal bars which dug into her hips. No way to treat 80 year old guests!
She had a shower but there was no hot water when I went for one.
Obviously the staff are not trained in customer service as we were waiting for the lift and a Porter was there with the luggage trolley. One of the lifts arrived and instead of ensuring the customers went first he got onto it with his trolley!
All in all this is a hotel which should be avoided. Unfortunately they don’t have a customer feedback form to complete. Perhaps they wouldn’t have had a big enough one!
I’m so pleased I didn’t read the customer reviews when in the hotel especially the one that said how filthy the pillows and mattress was!
Avoid!!!!!

Utter jobsworths

I’m at the park plaza riverbank working an event. Am not being fed or watered at this event so brought some food/drink to get me through the evening. Security would not let me through and were total jobsworths. Manager tried to quote the “health and safety” nonsense excuses but I’m not that stupid. Will certainly never work an event here again and would warn other people to avoid it too.

Cardiff branch - unsafe + not following guidelines

Cardiff branch. Not safe: a man forced his way into the elevator with us, wasn't wearing a mask and was abusive, refusing to get out.

Despite the fact he had come from the bar – which is supposed to be following gov track and trace + registering people's details – was staying in the hotel, and had walked through reception with CCTV + an in-depth description, staff claimed they could not identity him and told me there was nothing they could do and to return the next day when the person who checked everyone in would return.

The next morning I went down to reception to follow up and was completely fobbed off by the receptionist who told me there was nothing they could do and they couldn't identify him. I said this wasn't safe. There was no acknowledgement of a duty of care to guests or even an acknowledgement that this was unacceptable.

When my husband came down to complain, the male receptionist's tone changed completely. Despite my husband only echoing what I had said, he received an apology, was offered a drink and was told we wouldn't be charged for that night (which turned out not to be true). So you can add sexist as well as unsafe to the list of reasons not to stay here.

Staff walking into our bedroom

My husband and I booked for 2 nights stay
5th & 6th December 2019 at Park Plaza
Riverbank

We had put on the privacy light on
yet on 4 separate occasions
house cleaning just walked into our room
without knocking or any notice
No apology just ‘oh’ and giggled and walked
out
this we found extremely unacceptable
and rude and can not understand how
a hotel of this standard and extremely expensive room rates would do this and
employ unprofessional people without
manners

We had spoken with the duty manager
when this happened the first time who
just apologised but did not seem to care
as if it was no big deal
Well actually it was a big deal since
I did not sleep comfortable at all and
the whole weekend was spoilt
it’s sad since my husband and I had planned
the weekend away for some time

Underhand check in staff no doubt working to instructions

We had what I would call an unacceptable experience with the check in staff
We had booked 2 superior rooms however when my daughter checked in she was informed her room was a twin room but they had one with a king size bed but it had no bathtub. However when she got in, it was a room for disabled and when we complained they miraculously found a correct room we had ordered.
This was obviously a deliberate ploy to fill rooms that were not wanted which I found to be underhand and unacceptable even our room I couldn’t call superior
No doubt they are working to instructions to do this

Park Plaza Riverbank

Park Plaza Riverbank

I stayed at the Park Plaza London on 13/10/2017 to 15/10/2017 in room 232. When I arrive on the Friday I left my bags with the concierge. We were given tickets to collect the bags later in the day. At 4.30 I returned to the hotel to check in. I handed over the tickets and was informed that the bags would be sent to the room straight away. 45 minutes passed and there was no sign of the bags. I called down to reception and was told that they would send them up straight away. Another 15 minutes passed and there was still no bags. Called the reception again was told the bags could not be found. Obviously worried I walked down to the reception to enquire. At this point the bags had been found and I was told they were on the way up. After another 15 minutes the bags arrived.

By this point it was 6.15. I had theatre tickets booked at 7.30 and a table booked at 6.30. I quickly got changed and managed to make the theatre. But I missed the restaurant reservation.

I was told I could get a discount if I rebooked as compensation, I asked for a price and they gave me an over inflated rate compared to their own website. Safe to say I wont be returning to this hotel.

Could not sleep

I recently stayed in Park Plaza in Holland, Utrecht.

The problem was the construction work right above my room would start at 9 am.
Of course, this woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep.

When I went down to the reception to complain and told them that I had paid so I could rest and sleep in the hotel, the only thing they could tell me was that it was, unfortunately, the hour they started working.

I wouldn't recommend Park Plaza. When I pay for a room for 5 days during my summer vacation I expect to relax and sleep, I don't expect to be woken up at 9 am.

Not happy with the service at…

Not happy with the service at westmonster bridge

We booked the hotel with 2 rooms and asked for the adjoining doors so our nephew could go between rooms. We were give 604 and 605 and told this would be the case. After going to the room we found them down the hall from each other instead of adjoining. I went back to guest relations who then said that they can't do anything about it after being told that we had them.

On our second night there were 3 women stood right outaide our door laughing and giggling extremely loud at 1.30am which woke myselft, my wife and my nephew up from his room, they were there nearly 20 minutes. We got up and went down to reception (life wasnt working so had to go down 12 flights of stairs, tired. They said they would send somebody up. We went back and the girls had finally gone, so we went back to bed and at 2.30am a loud woman started talking on her phone in the adjoining room right next to our door between the rooms, i knocked and banged to get her to quieten down but she didnt take a blind bit of notice, she was so loud it would drown out a fog horn. After 20 minutes we rang reception to make a complaint and they said someone would come. 40 minutes later she was still talking as loud as is humanly possible and nobody had been from security. Eventually after over an hour she stopped talking. We had next to no aleep at all.

Then we complained again the next morning and they offered our other room their £30 bill off :/ I said thats not good enough as we paid for the room to sleep in not stay up all night because security were incompetent and explained all the above (again the lift didnt work from floor 6). As i was in a rush I gave no permission for the hotel to take any money and expected a call from a manager.

I have just spoken to Alba from guest relations who gave me a different story from their security reports saying that i only called once and they walled to thr hall and didnt see the 3 woman. This was actually a report direct to reception, so listened to nothing on the 3 occasions I told them. To be told they arent refunding anything as ghey have done what they should do... the woman continued for 40 minutes after, we were wide awake and not one person knocked on her door.

Nothing but lies and yet still expectes to pay for a sleepless hotel, i could have stayed on a bench in the busiest part of London and slept better. Absolutely disgusting

Park Plaza Nottingham junior suite is a …

Park Plaza Nottingham junior suite is a very poor effort for a 4+ star hotel. Stayed here on three occasions and haven't been able to have a decent night's sleep on any occasion unfortunately. The pillows are like concrete and there is no alternative selection when requested to reception.
In my opinion there are much better places to stay for £150.
The plus point is the breakfast at the Chino Latino extension - faultless, great choice and prepared fresh. However the hotel itself really needs to improve.
