The cake arrived when expected, a great start. Vegan chocolate fudge cake. But it is not even as nice as a decent vegan cake from a supermarket. More than £50 for what tastes like £10 worth of... See more

I ordered the vegan Biscoff cake for my daughter’s birthday, it is delicious! Arrived when I wanted it to no problems, will definitely order from here again
I wish I checked the review before…
I wish I checked the review before placing my order of a 40th birthday cake for my husband via delivery. If you want a ruined cake for a big important day celebration then go for it! It was absolutely horrible experience with receiving a damage cake for a special day! Conta Ted customer service and now they are ignoring my email. I will keep trying to escalate and can't believe how and why they still offer cake delivery, STOP it before sorting out your delivery issue. Very disappointed customer!
Very poor
Very poor, you pay £50+ for a cake that turns up all battered and damp from where its been poorly packaged. Don't put the cool packs on top of the cake, it melts right on top and ruins the cake. Pack them around and put a waterproof layer in between would have saved mine. Not sure if it edible at this point but wont be using them again they offered a £10 voucher for next order which will not be happening.
very unhappy with the order I received
very unhappy with the order I received. I ordered 12 cupcakes, which arrived in 2 boxes, but one box was missing 1 cupcake, so the order was incomplete.
The wrapping was terrible, one of the boxes was soaked with water, and the cakes look in very poor condition. This is especially upsetting because I ordered them for a birthday party tomorrow.
Unfortunately the beautiful birthday…
Unfortunately the beautiful birthday cake ordered for my youngest daughter became mouldy very quickly, despite being stored as advised.
Customer services were unhelpful and I was told the cake only last 3 days, which is absurd.
I spend £75 on a cake, which was stored in perfect conditions, and inedible a few days later.
Missing Black Forest Gateaux…
We paid £40 for a Black Forest Gateaux which we arranged to be delivered on a specific day which we waited in for.As it happened the DPD delivery driver left the package in full sight without ringing the doorbell but took a picture of it on the step. As soon as we noticed the email saying it had been delivered my wife went to collect it but no sign of it.We got in touch with patisserie Valerie and their response was to get in touch with the police. No goodwill shone whatsoever,no gateaux tasted and a special occasion completely spoiled. We will not use or recommend this company again.A disgruntled customer!!
Will never use again
Ordered a cake for my daughters birthday party for
It to turn up damaged when I said I want to return
It as I’m not happy with it they said I carnt send it back and offered me a £15 refund will not use this company again
Awful attitude and service
I ordered a cake for my wife's 60th birthday. I was surprised that the delivery was carried out by DPD as they do not seem like the ideal choice for such a delicate item. The cake was left on the doorstep and when we opened it it had been damaged in transit and was, therefore not useable as a birthday cake. I immediately contacted the company and was assured that this doesn't usually happen and was offered a £15 voucher off a future purchase. What I needed was a cake. There will be no future purchase from me. Very disappointing attitude from such a well known brand
Superb cakes and exceptional customer…
Superb cakes and exceptional customer service.
My wife originally ordered a birthday cake online but then changed her mind to assorted cake slices, then changed the delivery date. The customer service agent couldn’t have been more helpful.
Delivered yesterday as asked by dpd, opened today. Gorgeous cakes in perfect condition.
Extremely disappointing product and…
Extremely disappointing product and customer service.
I ordered a birthday cake from Patisserie Valerie which arrived completely frozen. Despite following the defrosting guidance on their own website, it was still frozen around six hours after delivery, making it impossible to serve properly at my birthday celebration.
The cake was also extremely bland, with very little sweetness or strawberry flavour.
I contacted customer service requesting a refund and provided all the details, including screenshots of their contradictory defrosting instructions. They initially dismissed the issue and completely ignored my complaint about the taste. I followed up repeatedly and, despite having had ample opportunity to respond, they have now simply stopped responding altogether.
A birthday cake that cannot be served when needed is one thing. Ignoring a paying customer who has made a legitimate complaint is quite another.
Very disappointing experience from a company that should know better. I would not order from Patisserie Valerie again.
Wish I had read the reviews first
Wish I had read the reviews first! My cake turned up on time, but several of the raspberries that decorated the cake were somehow broken. So it looked as if someone had pulled them off the cake already. It wasn't DPD as they weren't squashed onto the box lid. It was supposed to be a special cake for a family event. I was offered £15 refund. But a cake which looks like someone has already pulled the decoration off isn't very appetising.
Cake ok
Cake ok. But advise people not to use this company unless they want to receive spam emails every day from that point onwards. They ignore all requests to unsubscribe. Which is illegal. And any emails requesting this issue be dealt with are also ignored.
Absolutely amazing!
Absolutely amazing!
I ordered a wedding cake last year and it was delicious! Delivered promptly in perfect condition.
I ordered another cake for my son’s christening a couple of days ago and everyone fell in love with it! Can’t fault anything!
The delivery driver left my cake…
The delivery driver left my cake directly on the ground outside our property gate. He did not ring the doorbell, knock, or make any attempt to notify us. My sister-in-law witnessed the driver dropping the item and running away.
Hugely overpriced and incredibly disappointing
I wanted to buy a high-quality, fresh cake for my wife's birthday, but it turned out to be an embarrassing and humiliating gift.
I spent £60 in total, including £20 for next-day delivery as recommended by the company, on a Victoria Sponge cake that was supposedly meant to serve six people.
What arrived was tiny for the price, visibly damaged, and, after defrosting as instructed, it tasted like cardboard. Honestly, for £4 at Sainsbury's, I could have bought a cake that looked better and tasted far superior.
I genuinely cannot understand how Patisserie Valerie can justify charging these prices for such poor quality. Even more surprising is how the business is still afloat if this is the standard customers receive.
If you're looking for a cake for a special occasion—or even just something nice to enjoy with an afternoon tea,do yourself a favour and look elsewhere.
This was a complete waste of money and a huge disappointment.
Patisserie Valerie used to have a reputation for quality, but sadly those days appear to be over. I certainly won't be buying from them again.
So sent two orders as gifts
So sent two orders as gifts, both 10 slice selection, one they replaced with a nut one when daughter has a nut allergy.
Second one no dry ice so ge put in thr fridge, they are saying sometimes they will arrive frozen a stated and sometimes not, the customer is suppose to know what to do if partky defrosted then surely you shouldn't refreeze. I have escalated but so far rubbish customer service when all information provided, after speaking to a manager she took on board and sending out again
I paid £200 for the celebration cake…
I paid £200 for the celebration cake bundle and the main blush pink cake arrived damaged. The box it came from was in perfect condition so it wasn’t the fault of the delivery co. I contacted customer service and they offered me a £15 voucher which never arrived. I requested at least replacement macarons for the ones that had perished in the dry ice but my emails were ignored. If this had been M & S or Waitrose they’d have issued a refund or replacement cake. I’m very disappointed and won’t use this company again.
Not Worth The Risk
I was extremely disappointed with my experience ordering a celebration cake from Patisserie Valerie.
The cake was delivered by DPD and had clearly been tipped over in the box during transit. It arrived badly damaged, making it completely unsuitable as the centrepiece for my parents' wedding anniversary celebration.
I contacted customer services straight away and provided photographs of the damage. Given the condition of the cake, I expected a replacement to be sent, especially as it was for a special occasion. Instead, I was told they had "assessed the damage" and offered just a £25 store credit. I don't feel this was a fair or reasonable resolution considering the cake arrived damaged through no fault of my own. The final offer has been a £30 refund which is not even half the value of the cake or enough to cover the replacement.
I understand that delivery issues can happen, but what really matters is how a company responds when they do. Unfortunately, the customer service fell well below my expectations, and I was left with a damaged cake for an important family celebration.
Sadly, based on this experience, I wouldn't feel confident ordering another celebration cake from Patisserie Valerie.
Ordered a 60th birthday cake
Ordered a 60th birthday cake. Process was easy. Arrived on time early morning and it looks gorgeous. Looking forward to cutting it later.
