This website is HORRIBLE. DON'T USE IT

This website is HORRIBLE
I hate it with all my heart. It is buggy and boring. If you get a question right it sometimes marks you wrong. Some questions can't be completed on some devices (especially mobile). The books are also absolutely DOGWATER. I have grown to hate this website with a PASSION. To all teachers, students, and school staff, DON'T USE THIS. YOU WILL REGRET IT AND I MEAN IT. While using this website, it feels like a 3 year old coded this in some obscure visual programming language from 1983. ZERO OUT OF TEN. The date is just random, it was ever since i started the site.

Why activelearn is destroying love of languages.

active learn is the worst website for learning languages. Most websites, help students to revise and enjoy learning languages by making it more interesting and easy to learn however whenever homework on Pearson/activelearn comes up students will be subjected to three or four hours of completing impossibly long tasks where if the site crashes (which is a regular occurrence all their hard work will be reset. This is soul destroying as the tasks are horribly unfair, a single spelling error or even a space key press after the end of the sentence will force you to redo everything as activelearn has no tolerance for mistakes do not do activelearn!!!!

Pearson was to say the least, an enfuriating, raging, sickening , horrible experience i do not wish this on my worst enemies when u get the answer correct it says its wrong and it should addapt to slight spelling errors but does not this is why i think this atrocious website should get 0 stars but thats not possible so i give it a one

Too complicated to get used to this website

This active learn website is so complicated to get used to. Oh my days, the keyboard is annoying. Doesn't save your progress and it doesn't recognize synonyms. I'd rather use language gym than this crap. I hope Pearson fixes their website so that it can actually function better so that it doesn't look like it has been made by a 5 year old.

ALLOW TYPOS

They should allow typos because it drives me insane whenever I get something wrong because of one. Also it should allow getting accents wrong because sometimes I put the wrong accent.

SO outdated and bad

SO BAD. The amount of pain and suffering i have had on this useless website is infuriating. Every week i have to do a school assignment on it and here are all the issues
1. You can not do it on your phone, only pc
2. It will mark you wrong even if you put a synonym, like"tia" you must put the accent and they only accept aunt not auntie
3. It will not save , only saves when it wants to.
4.It is so long to complete it takes me 1hour plus to do it so if you are a teacher and set this, dont expect your students to complete it
5. The website in general is so outdated compared to "competitors" educake which accepts spelling mistakes and similar words

PLEASE PLEASE do not use this website.
All it is, is a huge pain.
Come on Pearson, you can do better

Entirely outdated

Entirely outdated, lacks basic functionality and is outcompeted by many better websites such as educake. I highly do not recommend using. An example of the idiocy is no synonyms are allowed, so if you don't give the word it wants(which you don't know) it marks you wrong. Also couldn't it auto save after each question rather than having to manually save the task.

This web site is horrendous

This web site is awful for so many reasons, eg. it doesn’t recognise synonyms and is a usability nightmare. In one question it asked for school. The word ‘école’ was marked as wrong as they wanted ‘college’. If you don’t have exactly the same response, however correct your answer is, it will make it wrong. As a result it takes 3 times longer than it should. On top of that the website makes it really difficult. You can’t do accents using the Apple keyboard and the keyboard is often positioned above the text box so you can’t see what you are writing. Pearson, this product is woeful, why have you put zero effort into developing a good site. Seemingly you have never heard of testing. Horrendous.

pearson is terrible

We switched to pearson from kerboodle this year. The experience of pearson has been an absolute nightmare. On kerboodle, you could click a button and be instantly taken to the answers. On here, you have to manually go to the right page and it takes forever. Not only that, you can't even zoom without using the zoom button which is extremely primitive. The whole textbook software has useless animations, unlike kerboodle which has instant swiping. The reason my school switched to pearson was because kerboodle "discontinued" their maths textbooks, however, they are still viewable and ironically, the pearson textbooks we are using right now are from 2019.
fix your website pearson 😭

This website is very bad

This website is very bad. It takes far too long to add accents because placing one in a word forces you to click the word again to continue. The marking is unnecessarily harsh on test, if you miss an apostrophe or use the wrong accent (eg è or é) it is instantly wrong and have to retake the entire tedious test to try again. The website is pointless as it does not make learning worthwhile at all, resulting in a turgid half an hour of copy and paste. The whole service needs to be modernised

I hate this program.

I hate this, one extra space and the whole thing is wrong. It is also horrifically boring! I fell asleep on my computer because of how boring it was. I dread doing it and put it off. Don't ever use this for a school if you want to use it. Overall, very bad in my eyes.

Useless

Simple, I can't use it. I bought a Pearson text book, it includes the access code to the site, but the code doesn't work because the previous owner used it. Basically they want books to go in the bin so they can sell new ones. Absolutely garbage mentality when they should be saving the planet.

Great software for students... if you want them to commit suicide

This software is the bane of my existence. It's buggy, over-complicated and just a mess. Using this to study German and French, this software has brought me to insanity. The ActiveBooks or whatever they're called are extremely slow and choose when they want to work mainly. The work that teachers can set is extremely long and usually has different answers to what we're learning in textbooks and lessons, not to mention the constant bugs. In fact, the thing that has caused me to write this is the website logging me off just as I was about to finish an assignment that took me two hours, meaning I have to start again from the beginning. If you are a teacher, please spare your students from the hell that is this website. ActiveLearn represents everything wrong with society, a lack of individuality, 'good enough' mentalilties, bullying, war. If you continue to use this despite my warnings, take my advice. You may be prone to mental breakdowns whilst using this software.

Worst website

The most mind defiling experience on a homework website I have ever had. It's a buggy mess that I think anyone who has ever had the discomfort of even looking at this abomination would agree on. It rarely works and when it does it often crashes.

Idek

I used this in year 7 and year 8 and all I can say I haven’t recovered from this website and now i’m in college. It didn’t even work and it was so glitchy. I give it two stars though because it was so glitchy i could cheat my homework answers and get 100% so Im very thankful for that

worse than hell

what kind of absolute psychopath developed this website? do you hate students? are you the joker? are you mentally unwell? because that is genuinely the only reasons i’d maybe excuse producing such a shitshow that this website is. if you haven’t had to do any sort of modern language on this website, here’s what it feels like; you get offered gum, and it ends up being airwaves. it’s as if someone’s sawed off the barrel of a shotgun and shoved it up ur nostril n pulled the trigger. if you’re a teacher, please never EVER subject your students to such trauma. and if you do, don’t act all clueless as to why your students loathe your class.
