Not great

The company's ways of work are broken. As a servicer this company works with policies that give the consumer zero finance flexibility. The frontline staff always look like they try their best, but management's refusal to offer competitive options or fixed rates leaves acquired mortgage holders completely stuck

Terrible company

Our mortgage was sold off to Pepper a while back. Since the ECB hikes started, our monthly repayments have gone up by hundreds a month. It’s getting to the stage where we are genuinely struggling to cover the basic weekly food shop. I feel totally trapped because standard banks won't look at refinancing us right now. Has anyone had any luck contacting a local TD or getting them to freeze the rate? Terrible company

Absolute nightmare of a company

Absolute nightmare of a company to deal with. My mortgage was sold to Pepper a few years ago without my consent, and ever since, it has been a financial drain.
They have hiked my variable rate up to nearly 8%, which is way higher than what standard banks are charging. When you call them up to ask for a fixed rate to get some predictability, they basically tell you they don't offer them. I’m completely stuck because my past credit history means a high-street bank won't take me back, making me a total mortgage prisoner. They are charging us vulture fund prices and we have no choice but to pay.
On top of the extortionate rates, their administration is a mess. I paid a lump sum of €5,000 last year to try and bring the principal balance down. Instead of applying it to the mortgage, they put it into some "suspense account" and just used it to cover my next few monthly payments. You can never get through to anyone in the accounts department who actually knows what they are doing, and the annual statements they send out look like they’re written in a different language.
If your loan gets transferred to Pepper, get out as fast as you can. They don't care about helping families keep their homes; they just care about squeezing every last cent out of you for the investment fund that bought your debt.
