I think people are getting confused…
I think people are getting confused water resistant isn't waterproof most of rab are water resistant personally I go for berghaus 100% water resistant like it says on label but I have Peterstone hydro shell gear for walking dog and I must say there good been out in some bad weather and they have kept me dry hoods aren't as good no peak but I put a cap on so good
Bought a mans outdoor jacket with inner…
Bought a mans outdoor jacket with inner detachable lining. It was very nice but had a typical design fault when used. The designer added an unnecessary internal flap but only inside right at the top of the collar. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to wonder if that flap will foul the operation of the zip. It did and eventually the zip failed rendering the jacket useless for winter. So if buying check those zips !
I bought a peter storm jacket and…trousers and they didn’t keep me dry
I bought a peter storm jacket and trousers on Saturday 5th November and wore them on Sunday 6th November in the pouring rain when I took them off my clothes underneath were wet ,,, I only bought this clothing because it said waterproof. Now I’m £100 lighter what can I do about this. Waterproof means waterproof doesn’t it or does it mean shower resistant?
Peter Storm ladies Rivelin boots…
Bought Peter Storm ladies Rivelin boots in September 2022, initially very pleased with them as they were comfortable and had good grip, and were only £50. BUT after less than two months of daily light wear (approximately an hour a day walking the dog, on footpaths and pavements) they fell apart. I wrote this:
Desolee, my boots departed
With their journey barely started
Sole and body clearly parted.
My finances fully martyred.
I am corresponding with the retailer about a full refund as they are clearly not fit for purpose. Awaiting their response....
Waterproof Boots that leak - Poor customer service
Purchased a pair of Rivelin Walking Boots (full price £80) which it was stated are Waterproof, but they let the water in. Contacted customer support and got a complete runaround. They wanted me to take a 52 mile round trip to get their specialist to look at them, I sent phots which clearly show the glue has failed around the sole, it's obvious! After 5 or 6 emails back and forth, I then heard nothing for 4 days. When I contacted them again they said they could not give me a time frame for response. They just need to to issue a refund for a faulty produce within warranty it's not hard is it?
How long should a jacket remain…
How long should a jacket remain waterproof? I bought a packable jacket a few years ago and now the tape on the seams has detached itself and a sort of rubbery lining material is peeling off. It no longer keeps the rain out. Not the quality I would have expected from this brand
I honestly don't understand the reviews…
I honestly don't understand the reviews this is the best waterproof I have ever owned. It doesn't let any liquids in and keeps you really warm whilst being lightweight so good to store away in a bag, the only negative I'd have is that you get too warm but that's still in itself a positive and the delivery of the coat was really efficient!
Why pay more
As someone who has worn the top outdoor brands,I can tell you the Peter Storm Typhoon is an excellent jacket for spring/autumn.Incredibly warm yet light.
Poor materials and not waterproof after 4 mths…
After 4 months the stitching either side of the toe came apart and let water in! Millets manager, Beverley asked if I had used a leather preservative to which I said not because no one in the shop told me to AND there are no care instructions in the box. She refused to exchange them initially stating they were worn on the sole!! (after 4 mths!!) After challenging her on the facts and how old they were she reluctantly agreed to exchange them for another pair on the promise of replacing them again within one year if I used a leather preservative. You might be hearing from me again in the next 12 mths.
Coastal down jacket XL, excellent value.
Ordered the coastal down jacket XL, great fit. Been off this morning on the Moors walking, 8c with a stiff northerly breeze, first time worn, very impressed, really warm, kept the wind at bay plus very comfortable. Certainly would recommend this at £34 compared to similar jackets at £200!!!
Don’t deserve to be in business
They refused to have anything to do with 2 pairs of walking shoes where the stitching had failed on each side near the little toe and ball of the foot. This was on all 4 of the shoes.
One pair was a year old and the other 6 months.
I returned them to Millets who were the opposite, highly recommended just don’t buy Peter Storm footwear from them.
I contacted this Law Firm
I contacted this Law Firm, because on their site, their own website it shows they can assist with the Lawsuit going on with the Art Institute known as EDMC. I contacted them and the girl on the phone sounded like she already had an attitude and then goes to tell me that they aren't involved. So I stated what's with the info then located on your site claiming you can help.
She goes to state I am only relaying what I was told, no effort in this business to go further in helping or aiding and basically just giving that attitude. Funny though, see bellow you can see it on their site!

Very disappointed with my PS Storm 11…
Very disappointed with my PS Storm 11 boots. Owned less than 6 months and worn on average 3 times a week.
Water leaking through the front and collar. Have applied a water resistant coating and wax polish but no good. The lace sheathing came away in less than 2 months.
My Karrimor boots lasted me 13 years including 4 weeks continual use walking around China.
Will not recommend these boots to anyone. Going to buy better in future.
Not fit for a storm
Hopefully the product range has improved over the years. I commend the product design for being lightweight, easy storing/folding material - good for mid-sized handbags/backpacks. Also, like some other brands, the hood stores in the collar.
However, the material is not waterproof and the hood keeps flying off - in the rain when there is movement or the slightest breeze, because there is no drawstring or other fastening to secure it.
This means having rain run down into the arm sleeves, as the hood is held in place over the head. This product was purchased in 2009. (Product code: 04 1197 42).
"waterproof" boots??????
I bought these "waterproof" boots expecting them to keep my feet dry.
They are absolutely rubbish, even in wet grass your socks get soaked.
Nice and comfortable in dry conditions but i would recommend that you look at other makes as these are definitely NOT WATERPROOF!!
I Purchased a pair of Peter Storm PS M…
I Purchased a pair of Peter Storm PS M ESKDALE WP DGY walking shoes product code 1239785 in February 2021 for my husband’s birthday. Unfortunately the eyelets have come away on the left foot and left the shoes unfit to wear. It’s not as if my husband has had a lot of wear from these boots but Amazon who I bought through have said because they are over 12 months old they will not accept a return. Very disappointing.
Brought a pair of peter storm boots…
Brought a pair of peter storm boots within 3 months sole and upper had parted returned them to GO outdoors and got a second pair, low and behold within 3 months sole and upper have parted company again. Clearly Peter storm have a manufacturing problem with their boots that needs sorting. Peter storm was a good name in hiking kit and footwear however that has changed and they are now at the bottom of the table for me. Big big disappointment.
Always liked the look of Peter storm…
Always liked the look of Peter storm walking boots. Bought a pair last spring and was initially pleased with the fit and comfort. Used them for approx 4 months no problem. Spent 3 months in Portugal, where obviously they were not needed. Returned to UK in February, where a good pair of boots are a must, and sadly the left boot upper has started to separate from the sole. Poor quality and poor manufacture. Also the supposed leather has a coating which is failing, which makes me think its not actually leather. Very disappointed with what looks to be a quality boot.
Low priced down jkt... but it has its issues
I bought a Peter Storm down jacket about 8 months ago from Go Outdoors. Light comfy, well fitted and stylish. Negatives were the constant shedding of feathers through the lining which tended to lodge on my fleece underlayer. This made it look scruffy. All the zips frequently catch & jam in the fabric and outer layer is very prone to damage from the lightest of scuffs shedding yet more down . I have enjoyed wearing this at its best but at £42 it was only just OK value for money. I'd prefer to pay a bit more for fewer problems. I have just ordered a Tog 24 jacket to replace it!
