Routine vet visit. Doncaster

Took my dog for his yearly vaccinations. The vet had a look at his teeth and said they have tartar we are offering a tooth clean for £300 at the moment. Then he tried to put a thermometer up his bum. Really upset my dog. The vet had no compassion. Don't think he liked animals. It's all about upselling. Last time I took him for a rash on his skin. The vet wanted to put him on meds for life which was a fortune. I googled and found correctly that it was an allergic reaction to my Christmas tree. It was an easy cure. All they care about is money. If I'd have trusted him my dog would be on medication for life when he doesn't need to be. Absolutely disgusted with these vets.

Absolutely disgusting

Absolutely disgusting. No compassion. Only interested in money. My dogs health had deteriorated and it was decided she needed to be put to sleep. We entered the vets in Hengrove and was greeted by a young girl who said go to St Francis Suite and a vet will be with you shortly. Before the vet even came and saw us another person came in with the card machine and said before the procedure we need to take the payment. No sympathy or compassion for what was happening. A card was literally thrust at us showing us the price for the caskets etc., then we were asked if we would like a card and paw print and that there would be a further charge for this. Unbelievable, we already had paw prints but how someone could be asking for money and extras at a time that is distressing doesn’t comprehend.
We have always used this vet, from the moment it first opened. We have lost three family dogs due to ill health or age. Previously, we have been shown compassion, just asked nicely if we wanted dog cremated and advised they would contact later for payment which was always made. We would the receive the casket with a card and pawprint. A few days later we received the call to say the ashes were ready for collection. When we came to collect we were greeted by a young girl who went to fetch these, thrust the box into my hand and said sorry for your loss without any meaning or compassion.
I am appalled by the service received and have already registered my remaining dog at a vet my sister in law used as she received far more compassion at the loss of one of her dogs. I have used this vets since it first opened many years ago but I can assure anyone that the service and care is not what it was, my pets are one of the family, not for money grabbing organisations. They need to have more training on how to handle the situation and review their policies.

Doncaster pet vet

I took my cat in last week due to an abscess on his leg, the vet treated him with antibiotics at a cost of £204 which i thought was steep but expected they told me to pop in the following week so they can check on him to make sure the antibiotics have worked which i thought was nice and professional. What they failed to tell me before going and after they had done the check up which lasted no more than a minute was that the follow up would cost me another £43. I find this a bit of a scam and I'm disgusting that they wait till they have seen your pet before telling you about extra cost

The Walthamstow Branch Pet Vet franchise

Took our cat in who is insured. They told us we needed to come up with 1,000 to have a couple of teeth extracted. Gave her gland a squeeze (2 minutes) and some loxicom and we then waited at reception for 10 mins for a cab. At no time did they ask for money. We arrived home and after a week the threatening letters came in saying we owe 41.95 and that if we don't pay it the price will go up with interest. Then despite my partner telling them TWICE we would pay the 41.95 at the end of the month when we are paid they proceeded to send 3 more letters and up'd the price to 46gbp. Warned them that this wasn't necessary and that they needed to apologise to my partner and they ignored it so here we are warning people about our experience with this place. We are now going to a different vets on principal. It was their whole attitude and rudeness which has put us off. Very unprofessional. Very cold. If this review is removed, it will be placed on other review sites including Google and a vid for TikTok too. These people had a chance to put things right and they chose not to apologise and send another letter instead even though we keep telling them we will pay the 41.95 at the end of the month. Now their rating is even lower and poorer than before. Bravo.

Debbie and the team- outstanding

I have always had a great experience at The Pet Vet. After bad experiences at another local vet, moving across to The Vet Pet was the best decision I've made.

Amazing care given to all pets and such a friendly, welcoming experience.

Even from as little as booking an appointment over the phone - Debbie's customer service was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. Receptionists often get forgotten about but I definitely think that Debbie deserved to be mentioned. I ended the phone call with a smile on my face and thankful for the ease of booking appointments for 2 pets.

Thank you so much Debbie and the team 💗

22nd of January...worst day of our lives. Our beloved Loki had to be euthanized due to his lymphoma becoming severe and making him suffer. Unimaginable pain we are still going through we never experienced this level of pain...but to make things worse this vet made it worse!!! On the middle of saying him good bye to our baby the staff in the back laughing their heads iff vwey loud, how inconsiderate! They veey wwll new the there are pwople in the next rooms saying their goodbye's and then just to make thing even worse you have option to get fur and paw print in his memory of him before cremation but we wanted only the fur as we had his paw print. Now listen to these irresponsible people. They posted to us the fur (why makes no sense as we had to pick up the ashes anyway or just called us to pick up). Few days after the 22nd I get a leaflet from Royal mail that I have to pay a fee because the sender didn't pay this. Now I am not expecting any parcel so got me wondering what is this. My husband had a feeling it might be from the vet, so I call them and they say yes they posted it and sorry the stamp must fel off but if I pay and is the fur I can get the postage refunded (1.50£) but I am like font care of the money I want my baby s fur. So I payed it two days later should been received but nothing. Called the vet again cause this leaflet had no tracking just a reference that cannot be tracked. They explain that I have to call royal mail and have as is nothing they can do...oh and funny thing they don't put on the letter parcel a return address in case. Like how the he'll you are so irresponsible to deal with such a high sentimental value to an already grieving people with such less care. I ended up paying again for that fee, called royal mail find out they couldn't track that reference either so I walked in and said that the letter is been out since the 4th and after the second time paying the fee should received it on the 6th still nothing. The vets response was after I told to receptionist to tell the vets mamagee they are so irresponsible to make a complaint as if no things won't change. So I am here now complaining but mostly telling u guys don't choose this vet I was never fully happy with then but I am not a complaining person but this is hard and they just made our pain worse. Looks like our babies fur is lost in the mail with no return address and will never get it. Shame on u PETVET this is not they way treating such sensible matter!!!!

ROSEBUD PetVet CLINIC

ROSEBUD PetVet CLINIC The Rosebud PetVet Veterinarian Clinic on the Highway used to be a wonderful Clinic that cared about our beloved Pets, the Staff were always helpful and caring which I'm sure they still are, but I feel since changing hands it's all about the money rather than the care! - Very Disappointed!
- After being charged $75 for them to have a look under the microscope at my dogs urine sample that i brought to the clinic with me, all I was told is that he has a Bacterial Infection and needs to go on a course of Antibiotics which cost me a further 60+ dollars.
- Requesting my dogs Medical File so I could pass on that information to the new Vet Clinic, it was noted, I quote: owner refused any further medical treatment due to financial restraints - this is an upsetting comment, I did not or would not ever refuse any Medical Treatment/Advise and this really upset me when reading this. Considering I've spent well over $2,500.00 in the past year and a half at this Clinic on my two beloved fur-babies!
- So then I take him to a different vet clinic only to find out that 1. he had been given the wrong Antibiotic 2. he has an abnormal enlarged Prostate hence why he was showing blood in his urine in the first place which could lead to further medical issues in the future. Blood in his Urine which I had mentioned to the previous vet clinic in the first place and now after all that I had to have him Neutered, hopefully lower his Testosterone Level which was causing the enlarged prostate, as the urine passes through the Prostate which was the clue we had to find the cause of the problem.
- Further reading his medical file there was a comment of him biting a staff member as she walked past, this also is not true and incorrectly worded. He actually lunged forward and nipped a Vet on the back of her heel as she turned to exit the room. This happened because he had a red/rash on his groin area and this Vet proceed to take a piece of household sticky-tape put it onto his sore area on the groin and rip it off, I mean, who would do that, that was her way of taking a sample to look at it under the microscope, fundly enough I wasn't charged $75 that time for them to have a look under the microscope, or was I charged the same amount when asking for a Prescription, that issue started at a cost of $15 then the repeat script for the same medication they charged me another $30 just for the script then the next time i was charged $25 for a script, how does that work, no consistency at all.
This is just a few issues/concerns that I have experienced, I have more to tell but I will leave it at that for today and I do not recommend this VETERINARIAN CLINIC
FOLLOW UP on my previous post about Rosebud PetVet Clinic - I found out after taking my Boy to another Veterinarian Clinic that not only was he miss-diagnosed he was also given the wrong type of Antibiotic Medication to treat his issue.
It turned out that he had blood in the urine, an Enlarged Prostate and he had to be Neutered.

This not a complaint about the care my dog received, its the horrendous bill I was presented with, i took my dog in for a simple blood test, and came out with a bill and 14 tablets for £376.62 no wonder people are not taking their dogs to the vets to be treated

Awful. I will never return

I gave this vet in Portsmouth Road Woolston one star because they were able to see my dog when I asked.

That was the end of the good service. I have rehomed a large dog. He was frightened and barking. The vet made no effort to comfort him. She rolled her eyes and was frustrated by his barking. She spoke to me as if I was a child, telling me that he had to be castrated and needed immediate training with other dogs. I explained that he was frightened and I had never seen him behave this way. She interrupted me and showed me the door.

I had considered both these things. I had wanted to ask questions but I will never return. I felt so upset and we were both overwhelmed and exhausted on leaving.
The assistants were friendly enough but look terrified and scared to speak up, I worried for their wellbeing.

Please never take a pet there.

Fantastic care and support at Barnsley

We came back from holiday not realising we didn't have enough tablets left for our 15 years old westie to continue his course. I phoned up this morning and spoke to Debbie who explained there's a 24hour wait before prescriptions can be picked up. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of this. However, Debbie said she would try her best to get the tablets for today and I had to phone back at 4pm. When I phoned back Debbie said the tablets were all ready and to be picked up. I want to say thank you so much to all the staff involved. This is the best vets we've ever had in care, helpfulness, support, friendliness, and going beyond their jobs to their best. Thank you again Deborah
