Wheels look worse now than before I…

Wheels look worse now than before I took the wheels in for refurb!

Bad orange peel finish on the day of collection followed by huge chunks of peeling laquer starting only a few months after completion.

Phoned to request the wheels are done properly and was told chunks of laquer coming off was ‘normal’:

Asked to speak to manager and guy said he was in charge of wheels and refused to let me speak to anyone else then subsequently hung up the phone on me.

Sent three emails to the company where they have refused even to give partial refund or to re-do the wheels.

Claim it’s not their problem due to it being outside warranty despite the fact the law states ‘must last a reasonable amount of time’.

Terrible workmanship and terrible customer service.

Deserve the terrible reviews they have.

Images of my wheels inside google reviews says it all. Massive chunks of laquer missing and terrible orange peel. Wheels can’t ever look clean as the filth gathers beneath the laquer!

Quick services, reasonable prices

When having new tyres put in elsewhere, we found out we had a dented wheel, and were recommended to take it to Phoenix Alloys for straightening.

We dropped the car on a Tuesday, were told it would probably be Thursday at the earliest before we could pick it up.

It was ready that same afternoon!

AVOID SAVE YOUR MONEY

AVOID - they will take your car in for repair, bodge job it then tell you it’s not their fault that the mechanical aspect of the car was not inspected properly. As “trusted” mechanical engineers they should go over and beyond to ensure the safety of their customers is their top priority.

However, I was told by the “owner” Wayne “my only concern is money.”

I think safety should be anyone’s concern when dealing with the public.

Would never use these people again.

Oh and by the way, don’t try calling them if they have your car, they will send you to a voicemail saying they’re closed.

Appalling service. Please avoid!

Bad experience overall

Bad experience - damaged vehicle. Drove 28 miles to Phoenix for a single wheel refurb. Left the car there on Monday and went to collect Friday after hours. The job they did on the wheel was ok apart from it was covered in metal shavings and the centre cap was broken which nobody cared to mention. Drove up the road and the steering wheel was way out of line, the wheels were juddering and skipping round the first corner, ABS and various warning lights popping up. I pulled in at McDonald’s round the corner to find the wheel they had worked on was visibly pointing in a different direction to the other side. I called recovery out and they said the steering rack end was bent and that I should drop it off back at Phoenix which I did. Posted the keys through the door and drove an hour back home.

Phoenix had a look at it and said the steering rack end was indeed bent, but there was no way it could have been done by them… right. There was a scuff on the same corner that they say was the cause and started trying to feed me rubbish about it, yet that had been there for weeks prior. I tried to make my point saying how could I have possibly drove it there in that condition but the ‘manager’ wasn’t in so apart from say it wasn’t them that’s all they could do. They gave me a refund for the work done but still left me with a car that was now not drivable an hour from my house on a lovely trading estate in Bristol.

Ended up having to book it in at a garage round the corner from then to fix their mistake which cost £174. The part was £20, why would I lie for a £20 part? I kept ringing and emailing asking to speak to the manager who I was told ‘would call me when he’s back off of leave’. That never happened despite me asking numerous times.

To be fair to Beth from reception she was nice and tried to be helpful. It’s the lack of accountability that was disappointing and the manager who doesn’t seem to care that I was left with no car for 2 weeks to get a single wheel refurbished.

All in all would not recommend, the work is alright but give it a thorough check over before giving them money because if they’ve messed anything up they won’t admit it.

Terrible job, stuck with a off colour alloy wheel!

So I bought some new alloys which had a custom paint job on them, took them to the tyre fitters and they scratched up one of the rims badly, so the tyre shop offerent to pay to get them fixed. The tyre shop took the rim to phionix. Got the rim back and the colour didn't match, it was a few shades off. I went to phionix to show them. The receptionist got the person who painted the rim to come to have a look. He agreed that the shade wasn't right, and said he won't be able to do it any better, mind you I gave him the exact paint colour the were painted with. He said it's because they use more of the main colour so the black undercote doesn't come through. I asked him to speak to the person I bought from, who is in London wjo was on the phone, the painter told me that he didn't want to speak to him and that he knows what he's doing abd that he's been doing this for a lot of years, and know better! He said he wouldn't be able be able to re do it because it will take him "too much messing about". I've never been so shocked at a response from a company! So they took the money and didn't sort it out, £82 down the drain! Now I have got to find someone else to do it and pay again! Please do not go to this company, they are awful.

This happened maybe 3 months ago. I've not been able to get them redone as we have been in lockdown.

Experts in alloy wheel refinishing

I’ve had three sets of alloys refurbished by Phoenix this year and they have done an outstanding job each time. The quality of finish is extremely high, two sets were silver and one shadow chrome which looks superb. They have part wheel samples in reception and offer a large range of options. In terms of price I would rate them as very good value for money. Furthermore, all of the staff are polite, friendly and engaging, the workshop people I spoke with are very caring about their work and eager to help with advice, loading wheels, changing out tyres, etc. Very professional; highly recommended.
