Phonetradr won't see me again!

It took Phonetradr more than two years to sell my device, but what was even more concerning was the complete lack of communication throughout the process. I only received a response after lodging a formal complaint with the Consumer Goods & ServicesOmbud - at which point the delay was blamed on a "system glitch." To make matters worse, their landline number doesn't work either, which makes it almost impossible to reach them directly.

PhoneTradr Are Untrustworthy Operators – Stay Away!

I am absolutely disgusted with PhoneTradr. This company is run by untrustworthy operators who prey on unsuspecting customers. They promise quick sales and fair deals for your phones, but in reality, they take your device, sell it, and never pay you a cent. I, along with countless others, have been left waiting months for payments that never arrive, with nothing but excuses and silence from their so-called support team. It’s a deceptive operation disguised as a legitimate business – do not trust them with your phone or your money!

If you’ve been let down by PhoneTradr, I strongly encourage you to report your experience to consumer protection authorities or the police to stop these dishonest practices. This company deserves zero stars and should be shut down!

Urgent Warning

Urgent Warning: My Experience with Phonetradr – Do Not Use Their Service!
I'm writing this to issue a strong warning based on my recent, deeply troubling experience with Phonetradr. If you're considering selling your phone or any other device online, do not use their service.
A friend, mistakenly thinking they were a reputable business, recommended Phonetradr to me. So, on June 23rd, I sent them my iPhone 13 to sell. Just three days later, on June 26th, they informed me that someone wanted to buy it and they had accepted the offer. They then removed my phone from their online listings.
Since then, it's been a complete nightmare. I still haven't received any funds, and my phone isn't listed on their site anymore. After multiple attempts to reach them, the last correspondence I received was on July 10th. They told me the person who wanted to buy my phone had retracted their offer. I immediately asked for my phone back, but they haven't responded. My phone still isn't visible on their website as being for sale.
Recent research has revealed a disturbing truth: this company used to be a reliable way to sell devices, but it seems now they just take your money and your device.
Please, learn from my mistake. Do not use Phonetradr!

Phonetradr are trash and needs to be investigated

I sent my phone to PhoneTradr in Jan 2025, when I sent a mail in march to return my phone I was pleasantly surprised two days later when I rec'd another mail stating my phone was sold and that they wanted my ID and proof of residence to do my payment. I have sent over 30 emails since and tried calling daily but ZERO COMMS. I logged another phone for collection (dont really have another phone to sell) but I wanted the way bill so I could get a concave number from the way bill. I called them today and finally got through to someone (Godrich), he acknowledged receipt and sale of my phone, he said he'd call back with further info....he went on to block my number. I will be taking this further with SAPS, I have a full recording of my phone call with this phonetradr prick.

SCAM ALERT: Phonetradr is a Criminal Operation Disguised as a Tech Company

Avoid at ALL costs. This is not a business — it’s a well-dressed scam syndicate posing as a legit tech company. I paid R22,000 for a phone. They acknowledged payment, then claimed they had no stock, and tried to squeeze me for more money to “upgrade” the device. When I refused and requested a refund, they went completely dark.

No phone support. No replies to emails. No refund. Just silence.

They operate out of Nelspruit, but don’t be fooled — you will not be able to track them down or hold anyone accountable. This is a classic “too good to be true” trap — they bait you with flashy deals, then vanish once they have your money.

I’ve logged a fraud case with my bank and SAPS and will be doing everything possible to bring them to justice — but in the meantime, consider this your warning: DO NOT send these scammers a cent.

Spread the word. Share this. Let’s shut them down.

I recently sent my phone to Phonetradr…

I recently sent my phone to Phonetradr South Africa to be sold. I've since decided to delist and get my phone back, but they're not responding to my emails or calls. I've even contacted the courier company, but still can't reach them. I'm having a lot of trouble getting my phone back from this company. My colleague had a similar experience. PhoneTrader told her the phone was sold, but she never received the money. She's since delisted her phone too. Only after advising Godrich and Emma that criminal case for theft will be filled against them did they finally take action to return her device. This seems like a legitimate scam, and I want to warn people to stay away. If you're having similar issues, take note.

Stay away from Phonetrdr!!!!

Don’t use this Phonetrdr to sell your phone!!!!!!
Since December 2024, I've been fighting to get payment for my phone from Phonetradr Mbombela. They sold my phone but haven't paid me despite endless promises. Google and HelloPeter reviews show this is now their standard practice: sell phones quickly, ignore owners' messages, and withhold payment.

I regret ever recommending them - my own family members got ****med too. This is not the reputable company it was years ago. Don't sell your phones through them, and buyers beware - you might be buying someone's phone who was never paid.

I'm now pursuing legal action through SAPS. Share this to stop others from becoming victims! 🚨

Worst service ever! Don't sell your phone with them! Please be aware!

I've tried contacting them via whatsapp, phone calls and emails. No response at all! Not even certain if they are still in business! I just want my phone back, I can sell it quicker on Bidorbuy. I don't know if I will ever get my phone back from them! This is fraud and I will certainly open a case against them at the police station.
