Account renewed despite putting in cancellation form over a month beforehand

A month or more before my automatic payment was due I submitted the form to cancel my insurance as i had moved to a different country so would no longer be covered. I received no response. Over a week ago, my account was automatically renewed and the amount debited from my bank. I emailed the company immediately to ask for a refund as I had requested a cancellation via their online form, and they have a 14 day cancellation policy but 9 days later I haven’t heard anything back. granted it was Christmas but that was one day out of the 9. Let’s see if I hear back before the 14 day period or if I am charged some kind of “late cancellation fee”. Just don’t use their cancellation form on their website (why it exists if they’re going to ignore it, I don’t know)

Hi Emily

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

It appears that you have had a challenge with the pausing of your renewal over the Christmas period.

We have looked into this and can see that your policy has been cancelled back to the renewal date by a member of the team meaning that you will not be out of pocket.

Please do let us know if you haven't received your full refunded.

Best of luck with your travels.

Don't pay out.

Getting out of paying.

I've usually had very good dealings with insurance companies but having had a recent issue with a lens taking accidental damage on holiday they have refused to pay out as the damage has been deemed 'physical' and not 'impact'.

Now there's no point in having the policy so I will be cancelling and looking elsewhere.

No service at all …

I didn’t buy a product because they couldn’t be bothered to call me back. 3x I spoke to someone and was promised a call back. They never followed through.

Update: Having looked into this one further, it appears that you have left a review based on another company. photoGuard passed your query onto PIB as we do not offer the commercial PL insurance you required for your companies.

Hi Rachael

Sorry to hear that you appear to have been having trouble with a query.

If you managed to speak to someone three times were you given a reason that they couldn't manage your query there and then?

Thanks

My claim was handled with care and professionalism, very easy to communicate and was offered advice and guidance on things I was uncertain of to ensure the claim was a stress free process to the already stressful experience of having damage caused to my camera.

Update: We have looked in the system and can see that we cancelled your policy two hours before you left this Trustpilot review. You will have received an automatic email to confirm this which may be sat in your spam folder depending on your security settings.

Hi Michael

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble reaching us via email. The team try to respond to emails within 48 hours so if you have sent it more recently than that they may not have yet reached your email.

The easiest way for you to cancel your policy is to give us a call and we can run that through for you.

The best number for you to reach the team on is 0333 004 6555 (Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm or Saturday 9am - 1pm) where someone can take you through the process and cancel your policy.

Thanks

Hi Steven

Thanks for taking the time to post a review. We are sorry to hear that you feel you have lost work due to photoGuard and your camera needing to be repaired.

Looking at your case notes the original referral to us was 18th August but did not include any documentation to support the claim.

We subsequently called 3 times leaving voicemail messages, and emailed each time, before we were able to reach you on the 23rd August at which point we explained what was required to complete the claim (a damage report and evidence of ownership).

Three further calls were made, and emails after the calls, before reaching you on the 12th September at which point we resent you all of the details you needed to supply while you were on the phone to the call handler.

Three further calls with voicemails left, and follow up emails, following an email from you to say you could not find the information took the case up to the 22nd September at which point the evidence of ownership was received.

Three further calls were made and voicemails left, plus three emails requesting you call the team to supply the outstanding damage report, leading to the 7th October, but due to no contact and no response we have stopped chasing for the information.

If you would like to pick this back up then please do reach out to us with the outstanding damage report and we will be happy to continue with your claim.

Thanks

Scam insurance company.

Scam insurance company.
Hard to describe how cunning this company is my advice is to stay far away and take your money to someone that will pay.I’ve dealt with a ( senior claim handler) over my drone incident and from the start he asked me for paperwork that IS NON EXISTENT ( a certificate from the CAA) please see his wording and conclude yourself .

“I write further to your recent communication with our office.
In order for us to proceed with your claim please can you provide the certificate of registration for the drone. Please note that this would have been issued by the CAA.”

This person is deliberately trying to be deceiving as this paperwork don’t exist
( you only get Flyer id and Operator id from CAA) when asked to send an example of the certificate the email got ignored, a further complaint was raised with the manager who admitted that this is a non existent document ( please put an example here if I’m wrong sir ) A certificate is an important document right? This a tactical move to stop people from making claims due to incomplete paperwork. I was more amazed by the fact that he denied that I was there when a photo of the Flight records was sent showing gps, date, time and user name it’s is shocking and unprofessional to be claiming such things after clear evidence was sent backing up my claim now forced to raise more complaints so this don’t happen again. As aspected my claim was refused because they consider that the drone is lost after pointing that its likely at the the bottom of the river it can’t be retrieved without taking major risks . Anyone looking to be insured by these people who are not serious about their job think again they will find an excuse not to pay, so sad the service standards are non existent they will treat you as a joke.

All I wanted was a second had replacement for my
Drone Mavic Pro platinum + one battery
