I have used Pimlico Plumbers several times over the years for various bits of work and the quality of the work is great and the tradesmen are excellent. You obviously pay a premium for the service but this is generally acceptable because the work is done by reliable professionals and promptly.
However, I have recently had the worst experience with them regarding an EICR I needed to have done. The engineer came and fixed issues with my electrical installation and carried out the testing required to issue an EICR certificate. I had no issues with the engineer themselves and they instructed me that the property was compliant and that a certificate would shortly be issued.
This was almost two weeks ago now and I am still waiting on them to issue the certificate. I have tried multiple times to chase this and get no answer or timeline on the matter. The customer service tell me the same thing every time over the phone and I receive no replies to my emails. They also give me no avenue to escalate or raise a complaint leaving me stuck in the situation.
As most people who have an EICR done it is typically to fulfill compliance obligations related to letting or selling a property and it is incredibly frustrating to have it delayed by something that typically takes a matter of hours or days.

I had a curtain pole fall down with an attached baton.
I booked for a tradesman to come and affix the same curtain pole to the wall a new baton and mend a section of plaster around 2x2inches.
The tradesman didn't arrive with the wood, so I had to wait for him to source, drive and return with it [all on the clock]. Total cost of installation £507 + the £36 wood on top. For ONE CURTAIN POLE. Insane. I called them to query this insane price still waiting for a call back.
The tradesman was lovely BUT...

Pilmlico wrote the below response which makes them seem caring and responsive however no follow up was made. They kept all the money paid. Won’t use them again.

Benjamin called me a couple of hours earlier and explained what time he will be arriving, he arrived on time, he had a look at all the jobs I wanted to have done. I asked him so many questions about the works as the structure of my house is new built and mainly has stud walls and I was worried about something going wrong or the works not being up to my high standards. I was blown away at the ease with which Benjamin explained everything and put my mind at ease and he even gave me a quote within 10 minutes and I have booked him! I found Benjamin to be thoroughly knowledgeable about the structures and works and materials about new builts as well as the traditional Victorian houses which made me feel that I have chosen the right builder and the right company!

I needed a new shower screen installed and shower riser they managed to get someone that day for me Oliver was very courteous and polite kept me informed at all stages and did an amazing job will definitely use Pimlico plumbers

I wouldn’t trust Pimlico Plumbers to service a boiler again.
I paid for a boiler service and was told everything was safe and in good working order. Six months later, another Gas Safe engineer discovered that my boiler was missing a pressure relief valve – a significant safety component that Pimlico have since admitted should have been identified during their service.
Pimlico refunded the cost of the service, acknowledging that they failed to spot the missing valve, but refused to contribute towards the remedial work that followed.
My biggest concern isn’t the money – it’s the fact that I was told my boiler was safe when it wasn’t. If a boiler service fails to identify a missing safety component, what exactly are you paying for? I unknowingly continued using the boiler for six months believing it had been professionally checked. And it would have been far longer had a gas smell not started from it, causing me to get the boiler checked again.
My experience suggests the quality of service is inconsistent. I’ve had one excellent engineer from Pimlico Plumbers (Tom), but unfortunately this experience showed that others can be negligent. When it comes to gas appliances, consistency and attention to detail are essential, and this experience has left me with little confidence in relying on their boiler servicing in future.

Pimlico staff were very helpful and professional. We got an appointment very quickly. The communication was great. When they attended my home, they were very polite, informative and took me through all my options. They were also very sensitive and understanding to my family’s needs.

I was in a bit of a spot with an botched electric shower that was being installed by a cowboy (came on my landlord’s recommendation) - long story short. The part installation was unsafe and the cowboy went away whilst I was expecting guests over the weekend. While Pimlico Plumbers isn’t cheap - they came on time on a Saturday and fixed the people.
