Dissapointment

I preordered some items, and when they released, they discovered they weren't in stock. And on top of that, for some reason, they keep holding my money until today. Absolutely terrible service and communication

Poor service and zero support

Worst experience ever. I ordered a product, paid in full, and never received it. Reached out multiple times, but customer service ignored my emails. No refund, no updates, nothing. I trusted this store, but it felt like a scam. Will never order from here again.

Bought a digital redeem code

Bought a digital redeem code, and they asked for my credit card, photo ID, and a picture of my face. Seriously?
This is outrageous for a digital purchase. I paid via PayPal, which already verifies identity. Stay away unless you want to risk your personal information just to get a simple code.

Avoid unless they have exclusive options

Play-Asia are meant to be a legitimate business however they have the most anti-consumer policies.

Prices are so high they make scalpers look good. Even with their discount promotions, games are still priced above retail. As an example, Persona 5 Royal [Phantom Thieves Edition] on PS4 is selling for 343 USD, the MSRP for this is 90 USD. You can get this cheaper from scalpers on Ebay.

Over priced shipping, a single game shipped to Australia is 11USD. I've had shipments from Canada, US and all parts of Europe for less than half that cost. The cost of shipping is to cover the cost paid to the courier to make the delivery, Play-Asia should not be making huge margins on shipping, as they don't do the shipping themselves.

Now to their business model. Don't believe their website or posts on social media, Play-Asia does not hold stock. For example, say you purchase three games, and one of them is pending stock arrival. Those two games in stock will not be held in reserve and will be shipped to other buyers if possible. So if that one item becomes available, there is a chance the other two games will go into pending or unavailable state, meaning you will need to wait for that game to be in stock again. You need to hope that by chance, all three games in stock at the same time for your order to be shipped. In theory, and I've experienced this in practice, you could be waiting indefinitely for all items on your order to be available. All of this is wrong, as you have to pay for the order in full. This company has no problem selling games that you have already paid for. This is theft.

Even worse, if the games you purchased are all in stock, there is still a chance you wont get your order. I recently made a purchase on the 11 July 2025, expected ship date was 13 July 2025. I make it a point to only make a purchase if items are in stock. Today, order ship date was delayed to the end of July 2025. Even though all items I purchased were in stock, they have been sold to other people, or they inventory management system does not update regularly. Ridiculous in every sense.

Play-Asia is an awful company, filled in awful customer service defending these anti consumer policies. Play-Asia have a slight monopoly with Asia exclusive games, however other retailers are now getting into this. I hope other retailers continue to expand so no gamer has to rely on Play-Asia. This company hates gamers and laughs in your face as you give them your hard earned money and then sell your purchased products to others.

Play-Asia should always be a last resort. Buy from Videogamesplus, buy from Amazon, buy from EBGames/Gamestop, buy from scalpers on Ebay. They all offer games at better prices, with same level of service.

IRRESPONSIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND COMPANY

COLLECTING FULL PAYMENT FOR ITEM WHICH IS NOT IN STOCK.

Delayed multiple times from the expected delivery date. (Using "EXPRESS DELIVERY")

Simply reply "SUPPLIER CANT GIVE US THE DATE TO RESTOCK"

*Update: delivery status changed to "HOLD" from "PREPARING ORDER"*

For those who pre-order or purchasing hot item, good luck receiving "OUR SUPPLIER CANT GIVE US ETA" replies.

Slow economy shipping but great store otherwise

Digital items get delivered immediately and the prices are fair.
Physical items are more affordably priced and sent out quite quickly (CDs in my case), but "economy" shipping really does take a lot of time to deliver (in my case: just over 3 weeks to Germany).
On the plus side, customs are a non-issue up to a certain order cost, and the items have all safely arrived so far.

They sell products they cannot supply

This company repeatidly lists games and products they do not have stock of ,
They then keep changing the shipping date over and over again , yet still advertise the products weeks / months after people have ordered and still not shipped ,
Must be making a small furtune on intrest alone
I would not buy from these again ,

I am a new customer but the experience is excellent…

Hi I recently became a customer of play Asia and so far the experience has been very excellent I was not aware of the company until I was frantically searching for a new Nintendo switch due to the near impossibility to find one in the US right now I was pleased to find one at market value with no markup from play Asia and while I did pay shipping it is less overall than it would be from any current scalper and they have prompt excellent customer service I would recommend the experience to anyone I'm going to be a loyal customer.

My Package Was Never Delivered

My Package Was Never Delivered, and I Was Left Unprotected

I ordered from PlayAsia and selected their economy shipping option. The tracking showed the package was delivered to a third-party logistics warehouse (BoxC Logistics in Miami), but I never received it.

I provided a formal document from my U.S. courier confirming they did not receive the item, and I even contacted USPS, who confirmed the package was only handed to BoxC—not to the final recipient.

PlayAsia refused to take responsibility and kept insisting I file a U.S. police report, which is not possible as I live abroad and there was no proof of theft—just non-delivery.

After weeks of providing documents and communication, they refused to help. I escalated the case to PayPal, which was also closed unfairly, despite all the evidence.

What’s worse is that after I reported the issue, PlayAsia removed my ability to leave reviews on the products I ordered—clearly to hide bad customer experiences.

This was my first and last time buying from them. If PlayAsia can’t take responsibility for basic delivery, they shouldn’t even offer economy shipping.

Avoid this seller. There’s no protection if something goes wrong.

Good shipping + prices

I bought a magazine from here with the least expensive shipping, it came within 15 days and very happy with it! 10/10 communication would buy again plus there was no extra charges with the tariffs!

They've robbed me twice!

I've ordered two 50 usd gift cards on separate occasions. Both times the money came out of my account but I didn't get the code. Both times they said their accountants show I didn't pay. Total BS. Use anyone else.

$400+ stuck in unshipped orders — no refunds after weeks of false promises

I’ve been a loyal PlayAsia customer for years, but this experience completely shattered my trust.

Between March and April 2025, I placed 5 separate orders totaling $591.79 USD, plus another $31.64 in PlayAsia Coins.
None of the games were shipped. Not a single tracking number.

After weeks of vague “your order will ship next business day” messages, I was forced to cancel 2 of the 5 orders myself.
The remaining 3 orders — worth around $400 USD — are still “under review,” with no refund and no real progress.

Their support replies are just copy-paste templates:

“We’ve submitted it to accounting”

“Please allow 5–7 business days”

“We’re waiting for internal confirmation”

Weeks later, I’m still waiting. One of the items they refuse to refund at all — despite never shipping it.

PlayAsia used to be a trusted store for collectors. Now it feels like a company that’s happy to hold onto your money, lie about fulfillment, and stall refunds indefinitely.
If you're a collector, think twice before buying from PlayAsia. Their customer service looks professional until something goes wrong — then they disappear behind excuses.

I’ve faced multiple issues

I’ve faced multiple issues, including receiving a product that didn’t match the confirmed details, long delays in updates, and having to follow up repeatedly just to get status information. In one case, I was offered compensation instead of a proper resolution, and in another, I was asked to cover return shipping for a mistake that wasn’t mine.

As a customer, I expect clear communication, accurate product confirmations, and timely updates—without needing to chase for answers.

I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously to improve the experience for future customers.

Waited 3+ years. Did not receive product, difficulty getting refund. Avoid!!!

I ordered more than 3years ago and I didn't receive the product. Every time, they would accept new pre-orders and update their shipping date, extending it by a month. At some point they stopped taking new pre-orders but did not give us any update. I actively was the one who kept asking for update and all they gave was some copy-paste apology and a 'promise' that they will send an update when they can. This happened to my friend too, who ordered the same product.

Out of nowhere, after more than 3 years waiting patiently, they cancelled the order without confirming it with me. They offered a refund either in the form of Play-Asia credits or through paypal. They couldn't refund it back to my bank account cause it's been that long!!! And now after more than a month I am still waiting for my refund. Any e-mail communication is just a copy-paste apology and promising they will escalate this issue. But I still don't have my refund yet. After so much problems I just want my money back.

I know some people have had no issue with them, but don't support or trust this business if you want a peace of mind.
