I needed my boiler fixed
I needed my boiler fixed, so I called their office to ask for a price estimate. I understand it was Saturday, but I was still hoping to get a ballpark figure. The lady told me the average cost would be around 100-150 euros. However, when the technician arrived, he said the price was actually 350 euros! When I told him I wasn’t willing to pay that, he said I still had to cover his visit, which was 50 euros. While I understand he traveled all the way to my house, I don’t understand why they can’t provide a clear estimate over the phone to avoid shocking people and turning them away. It feels like a scam. Even the locksmith in Berlin told me upfront how much it would cost to come and open my door at 2 AM on January 1st! Or at least provide the maximum amount it could be. It's always more pleasant to hear a lower figure than to be hit with a much higher one later on.
