Poor product and terrible customer service.
I am giving Pottery Barn one star because my experience with their Belgian Flax Linen sheets and their customer service has been extremely disappointing.
I purchased two Pottery Barn Belgian Flax Linen sheet sets and rotated them carefully. I am very gentle on my bedding, I launder it carefully, I sleep alone, and there is nothing about my use that could reasonably explain a premium fitted sheet becoming threadbare and ripping so quickly. I am 67 years old, weigh about 85 pounds, and put very little strain on sheets. These were expensive sheets sold as a premium product, and they did not perform like one.
What made this worse was the response from the Yorkdale store in Toronto. The manager simply dismissed the problem as ordinary wear and tear and said there was nothing he could do. I was also told I could not even buy a single matching replacement fitted sheet because the product is only sold as a set. That is an unreasonable response when the fitted sheet is the part that failed prematurely.
I have since found public complaints from other consumers describing very similar problems with Pottery Barn Belgian Flax Linen fitted sheets developing holes, thinning out, and ripping much sooner than expected. That makes it even harder to accept being brushed off as though this is just my issue.
What is especially frustrating is that years ago I used Pottery Barn for my den and hall and was happy with the result. Because of that earlier positive experience, a few months ago I was planning to use them again to redo my entire living room and family room. After this experience with the sheets and the dismissive customer service, I will not be using them. A company selling premium products should stand behind them, and Pottery Barn did not.
Belgian Flax Linen Sheets - holes after 4 months
We received the Belgian flax linen sheet set for a gift. We have only been using the sheets for about 4 months, and the fitted sheet already has worn holes in it. We wash them as per the care instructions and this happened. I reached out to customer service and they told me they couldn't do anything about it. I will not be recommending Pottery Barn and those sheets. I have had great experience with competitors such as Crate and Barrel.
I am so angry at the money I wasted…
I am so angry at the money I wasted on a comforter and shams from Pottery Barn - it's like I bought the pieces at a Dollar Store and I don't mean to insult the Dollar Store because I would have paid $500 less there. The pieces pilled terribly - I mean there are PILLS all over and some stuffing coming through the pill holes in the fabric. I bought the Charcoal Belgian Flax Linen Comforter for which I had to wait 6 weeks on delivery. Do not waste your money, people. It is an inferior product - you'll do better to shop discount. (I placed the date of my experience in April near the time I FINALLY received the product but the problem has been ongoing since probably a month after receipt). And don't think I didn't try to complain directly to Pottery Barn but could not locate any outlet for reviewing products on their website. I did see a few glowing reviews for this comforter but no where for me to place a new (and negative) review . .
