Bought a powunity biketrax in January
Bought a powunity biketrax in January, had the tracker fitted, tracks my bike half the time. Doesn't ever show my bike being in my property or my works always a few buildings or streets away. Customer service no longer responding to my emails. Last email I had was to say make sure the tracker isn't fitted next to anything that's metal or carbon fibre. How can I do that if it's meant to be hidden? The bike is aluminum, am I meant just just leave it dangling outside the frame so if the bike gets stolen they can just cut it off. Should of saved myself money and bought an apple air tag for quarter of the price.
Update in response to your reply. Firstly I've not tried to portray myself as a victim, simply asking if I'm told not to place said tracker near metal or carbon fibre then where am I meant to fit said tracker other than outside of the frame as you're no longer replying to my emails to get an answer. I'm not asking for anyone to rewrite physics just a common sense answer would of been nice rather than a jumped up reply. Secondly, refund? Until your reply to this review I've not been told of a refund nor have I received one but now I'll be expecting one in full as stated. Thrid, damage report? I was asked to take my bike out for a ride for at least 15 minutes for the tracker to try locate itself, I've done this three time and I even sent photos off the apps map showing where the bike was actually located and where the tracker was showing the bike was. That was when you stopped replying to my emails. I'll look forward to my refund. FUTURE BUYERS BEWARE.

Physics 101: The fact that aluminum and carbon block GPS and GSM signals isn't a "bug" in our product—it’s a fundamental law of nature. GPS signals come from satellites in space, and they generally struggle to penetrate metal cages. It’s the same reason your phone loses signal in an elevator. Who would have thought?
The "Damage" report: It’s fascinating that you’re portraying yourself as a victim here, considering we have already refunded every single cent of your purchase. We paid for the hardware, the shipping, and the processing—so your "loss" consists of exactly zero Euros and a free education in signal interference. You’re welcome!
The AirTag masterplan: Best of luck with the Apple AirTag! We’re sure professional bike thieves—who definitely don’t have iPhones that will immediately alert them to a "foreign tracker" following them—will be deeply intimidated by your quarter-price solution.
Since you’ve been fully reimbursed and we unfortunately can't disable the physical properties of metal just for you, we consider this matter closed.

Without PowUnity I wouldn't have been able to recover my bike
I recently had my bike stolen and luckily had a PowUnity Biketraxx tracker on my bike. In less than three hours, my bike was already sold to a bike chopshop half way across the city.
Thanks to the GPS, I was able to scope out the criminal who was taking my bike apart, inspire police action (in London, less than 1/1000 bikes are recovered). And get my bike back.
Having had a bike stolen in the past and claimed with insurance, I took more financial loss with this method but I have recovered a sense of justice and protected myself from feeling like a victim which is invaluable. Amazing product.

Do not buy!
Since the issues with tracking battery life in standby, when bike is not moved is measured in hours, making it unusable for longer stays. it literally has no standby time anymore. I guess it never goes to standby mode anymore and is always tracking.

Update: I just recieved today an email from you saying my subscription has finished so I guess you have my Email! And please remove my personal Email from your answer.
My device is not working anymore since August 2025. I received an Email saying there was a bug and it was fixed.
It was not fixed for me. I sent an email to support and never received an answer.
As I'm paying the tracker every month for nothing, I decided to stop my subscription

Saved My Bike!
This tracker certainly worked for me.
My very expensive e-bike was stolen (it was in my garage and locked up). Less than 24 hours later, I had recovered it myself.
The police were really helped by being able to see exactly where the thief had ridden it so they could check CCTV footage. This was key to finding the culprit.
It is worth every penny of the yearly charge.

I have been using the tracker for 2…
I have been using the tracker for 2 years now, had a few problems but most of them were caused by my own faults. Positioning of the device and making sure the connection to electricity is solid. Also small tip: make sure your tracker is working every 2-3 months. Otherwise the hardware might fail.

I would like to sincerely thank the PowUnity support team for their professionalism and dedication. My GPS tracker stopped working due to a payment issue after the bike changed ownership. Speedbox track for 25 and the powunity 40
The product certainly does what it's supposed to do, but there's a SpeedBox tracker that works better, costs only 25 euros per year, and is a single piece. That says it all! So, try to lower your prices if you want to keep your customers; otherwise, you risk going bankrupt.

The SpeedBox GPS tracker is currently only compatible with Bosch motors and is specially tailored to these systems. It is therefore not directly comparable with our BikeTrax, which is designed for different motor types.
Our focus is on maximum quality, safe and unobtrusive integration into the motor system and functions such as live tracking and motor lock.
Of course, there are cheaper alternatives - if you're happy with that, you're certainly in good hands with other providers. But if you are looking for the best, go with the PowUnity GPS tracker.

A few days ago, I realized that PowUnity is a truly reliable team. My GPS broke down, so I contacted the manufacturer via email. The very next day, I received a clear and precise response with helpful assistance.
My case was particularly complicated, yet the company handled it with great professionalism. In the end, they sent me a new device—even though I live in Poland!

People Giving Bad Reviews
People leaving bad reviews, seem to be complaining about import tax or backwards compatibility with ancient phones or subscription costs.
I currently have 5 Powunity Biketrax trackers installed, 4 in my bikes, 1 in my van. They are good reliable trackers, and definitely worth the yearly 39euro subscription.
Someone suggesting they should be £2 a month. Well why purchase it in the first place if you knew it was £3 a month.
UK people complaining about import charges. Well just buy it from a UK dealer instead.
People complaining about the app not working on 10 year old phones. Maybe just upgrade your phone instead of blaming PowUnity.
I don't normally write reviews but felt I needed to give a different side to the story.
I have tried many different trackers. With many of them, you have to provide your own SIM which costs more than £3 a month and the trackers are more bulky, with separate app ... all very disjointed.
In my opinion, these are the best e-bike trackers for reliability, durability, value for money.
Like I said, I currently have 5 on the go at the moment, and I in no way begrudge paying £33 a year for the peace of mind they give me.
PowUnity is a good company and Biketrax is a good tracking system.

Just saved my bike
The motorcykel version of the tracker just saved my bike from being stolen. I use the tracker with movement alarm instead of geofence, and I just went to bed when the alarm went off. My bike parks in a garage next to the house, so I got dressed quickly and just arrived in time to stop two guys from trying to steal it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to hold them, but without the tracker no one would've even noticed anything

False alarms
It is constantly kicking of by geofence alarm when I am leaving my house. But it is disabled in the app. Very annoying.

Why you should fit a purpose designed tracker
My bike was recently stolen from my shed along with other machine tools chainsaws etc, I was able to tell the police exactly where the bike was, my bike and all my other stolen items were recovered and 5 people were arrested, without the tracker none of my items were likely to have been recovered. So glad I had your tracker installed when I purchased the bike.

Powunity Biketrax excessive costs of re-subscribing
Am I the only person who believes close to £40 per year, (£118 for three years) cannot be considered a fair price for re-subscription to your bike tracker GPS services once your included years runs out. Should be £2 per month tops.

Still not delivered and poor communication by seller.
Ordered on 1st of July 2024 with a 2-3 days postage time. Still not arrived by 9th and any attempt to contact them has failed. Contact form on the website doesn't work and tried to get them on Facebook but got automatic response saying to use the non working contact form on their site. Have not replied to a direct email either. I would try and find a different supplier if your considering using Powunity!

Asked why it was taking so ling and they said it was going to be another week for delivery. I asked for my money back as 2 weeks or more on a 3 day delivery is looking more like a lie to get people to go with them instead of their competitors l. Told I would get a refund on Sat 13 July 2024 but it is now Tuesday 16th and they have now completely started ignoring me. Stay well clear of this company as they lie and and not good to deal with. Very dishonorable company....AVOID at all cost your will literally be throwing away £170 that you WILL NOT SEE AGAIN!!
